Jose Mourinho is not considering Tottenham Hotspur as a title contender, Lampard disagrees

0

Jose Mourinho went back to Stamford Bridge to face Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. The match ended in a draw as both teams failed to break the deadlock.

After the match, Tottenham Hotspur see them at the top of the table again with 21 points in 10 games. In the post-match press conference, Jose Mourinho said, “Tottenham is not a candidate. We are not even in the race. We are not a horse. I don’t know what the word is. We are the small, young horses. We are just a pony.”

Mourinho was unhappy with his team’s performance though. He said, “A draw at Stamford Bridge is usually a positive thing and staying top of the league is also a positive thing. But my dressing room isn’t happy with that and that is fantastic.”

“Nobody gambled today or tried to change the direction of the game. Everybody was in a situation of one mistake wins the game, especially in the last 15 minutes.”- he added.

Frank Lampard disagreed with Mourinho’s claim. Mourinho also claimed Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City are the main challengers for the title. Lampard replied, “It’s Jose’s call to say it as he sees it from his end, but from the outside, they are top of the league. If we’re contenders then they have to be contenders.

“They have invested heavily – they’ve got people like Gareth Bale sitting on the bench, Dele Alli’s not here. There is a strong squad there.”

“So I think we are all competing, but Jose can say it as he sees it.”

Jose Mourinho always loves to play mind games with his opponents. This claim is surely one of them!

Sami Khedira wants to play under Carlo Ancelotti again

Sami Khedira may leave Juventus in January with a potential move to the Premier League. According to reports, multiple Premier League clubs are interested to sign the German midfielder.

Sami Khedira joined Juventus in 2015 after spending 5 successful years in Spain with Real Madrid. The 33-year-old midfielder has scored 21 goals in 144 games for the Italian giant.

But he is completely out of favour of Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo this season. He is yet to make an appearance for Juventus this season.

According to reports, Juventus wants to let him go this January if they get the right proposal from any club. Manchester United, Everton are interested to sign the midfielder. Sami Khedira wants to join Merseyside.

The rumor seems to be true after the comments from the German midfielder himself. He said, “I really enjoyed working with Jose Mourinho but there are many coaches who I would like to work with.”

“I would never say no again to Mourinho but he is not the only guy who I would say I would like to work with again. There are many coaches, even in the Premier League that I respect a lot.”

“Ancelotti is doing a great job at the moment and is a great personality. He is one of the coaches who impressed me as well.”- Khedira added.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti said, “I have a good memory of Sami Khedira, he was with me at Real Madrid and was a fantastic professional.”

It will be interesting to see where he finally goes when the transfer window opens in January.

ISL 202-21: Check who makes it to the Team of the Week after Gameweek 2

The Indian Super League official website has declared their Team of The Week for Gameweek 2. Players picked for this purpose have provided no major surprises, with most of them doing enough to earn their spot on the list.

In goal, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu makes an appearance after his saves ensured that BFC make a decent start to the season. The four-man defence sees players from two of the best sides in the competition this far. Pritam Kotal and Prabir Das of ATK Mohun Bagan make their way to the side, after making a brilliant start to defending their crown with 2 clean sheets in 2 games so far.

Asish Rai and Chinglensana Singh of Hyderabad FC also occupy places after not conceding any goals this far. The latter in particular has impressed in the backline with a commanding presence in the form of aerial duels and headers as a proper centre-back.

Edu Bedia to stay at FC Goa for 2 more years - myKhel

The midfield sees two names each from the Mumbai City and FC Goa teams. Both have made good starts to their season and for the Islanders, it has been Rowllin Borges in the middle of the park often acting as a defensive lynchpin to solidify matters. His teammate Goddard has been a constant threat on the right flank bombarding and troubling opposition defences with his continual crosses.

For Goa, captain Edu Bedia has led the way from the front often recycling possession and creating chances in Ferrando’s creative system. Noguera has also been a bit of a revelation, charging down the flanks and supporting Bedia in a bid to score more goals as well as playing in the fullbacks and strikers ahead of him.

Rowllin Borges - Player profile 20/21 | Transfermarkt

The attack sees a potent pairing of Nerijus Valskis and Adam Le Fondre from Jamshedpur and Mumbai respectively. Valskis, who had 15 goals last season for Chennaiyin and won the Golden Boot, has once again started off with a flier. The Lithuanian centre-forward struck twice in the game against Odisha to take his tally to 3 goals for the season.

Le Fondre on the other hand, scored from the penalty spot to give Mumbai and Sergio Lobera their first win of the ISL season. One could have made a case of whether Roy Krishna also deserved to be in this team, but by and large, these players have done justice to their respective positions.

Cerebras CS-1 chip with 1.2 trillion transistors is the fastest chip in the world

0

We have already seen the advancements brought in the semiconductor field this year. With the release of many powerful CPUs in the market, the processing speed of PCs and Smartphones have crossed their predecessors by leaps and bounds. We have already seen Apple’s latest M1 chip that has 16 billion transistors and is extremely faster than even Intel’s i9 processor.

According to sources, the Cerebras CS-1 chip, which is 462 sq cm in size, is currently the biggest chip in the world. The chipset contains around 1.2 trillion transistors. That is a 75000% increase in the number of transistors when compared to Apple’s latest SoC. Sources claim that the processor is now termed as “the world’s most powerful AI-compute system” and was developed for the US Department of Energy by the organization’s Energy Technology Laboratory.

The testing researchers responsible for the processor has now fed all the necessary data about the current operating conditions of the powerplant to the supercomputer. Then, they waited for its 1.2 trillion transistors to analyze the data and simulate the future condition of the powerplant. Sources claim that the chipset took over a million variables, which includes 3D air movement and even fluctuating temperatures. It then analyzed them to show the possible future of the powerplant faster than in real-time.

“The CS-1 is the first-ever system to demonstrate sufficient performance to simulate over a million fluid cells faster than real-time. This means that when the CS-1 is used to simulate a power plant based on data about its present operating conditions, it can tell you what is going to happen in the future faster than the laws of physics produce that same result.”

The chipset is no joke and is a major achievement in the field of computing and Artificial Intelligence. Sources indicate that the Cerebras team is planning to release a second-generation CS chip that will contain 2.6 trillion transistors.

3 Takeaways from Mumbai Indians IPL Victory

0

The IPL final saw the Mumbai Indians take on the Delhi Capitals, the two most consistent sides in the 2020 IPL. The Indians came out on top, cruising to victory by five wickets after heroics from their captain, Rohit Sharma. However, although Delhi lost, they did manage to make history by competing in their first-ever Indian Premier League final. And with Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer at the helm, it could be the beginning of a beautiful and fruitful relationship. Of course, the tournament is more than the final, and there is a lot to take away from the competition. Here are the three key things we learned from the 2020 edition in the UAE.

The Youngsters Shone Bright

The IPL has been a place where the younger generations, particularly from India, get their opportunity to show the world what they are made of and increase their value in the upcoming auction. 2020 was no different, and there were some standout performances throughout the tournament. Washington Sundar’s measly figures of 1-12 in four overs stood out in an early tie for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Ishan Kishan lit up the Middle East on his way to 99 runs off 58 balls. However, it was Iyer who probably stood out the most due to his captaincy skills. Under Ponting’s tutelage, Iyer set skilful traps and rotated his bowlers expertly well to lead the Capitals to the promised land. Plus, Wisden reports he managed 519 runs in 17 matches, with an average of 34.6.

Never Write Mumbai Off

This was a relatively straightforward campaign for the Indians, yet it cemented that they can never be written off before the season starts. With another win, they are now five-time champions of the Indian Premier League, the most in the competition’s history. Also, after securing the title in 2020, they are now back-to-back champions, a feat only managed by the Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and 2011. Although people might want to see them fail, the likes of Comeon Betting were right to make them the pre-season favourites, and they would be correct to do it again in 2021 before a ball is bowled. With this victory, the Mumbai Indians franchise has proven it has a winning spirit that doesn’t go away easily, hence why they are five-time champions of India.

The English Are in Vogue

Five years ago, after England has been humiliated in Australia and New Zealand, it would be unthinkable to imagine that their players would be the standout performers in any form of one-day international cricket. Yet, by emphasising ODIs and T20s and winning the 2019 World Cup, the squad transformed its fortunes.

The IPL reflects this with the number of English cricketers in the league. 13 of them made the cut, four of them for the Rajasthan Royals, and almost everyone made an impact. Jofra Archer, with 20 wickets at 18.25, conceding 6.55 runs per over, is arguably the MVP of the league, according to ESPN Cricinfo and there were good campaigns for Sam Curran (13 wickets), Jos Buttler (32.8 average), and Chris Jordan (9 wickets). Even Stokes, who missed a big chunk of the tournament, fired and showed why English players are leading the charge at the moment with a spectacular 107 not out in just 60 balls against MI.

Hopefully, the next edition of the IPL will be as exciting and good to watch as this year’s competition.

How Investment Is Transforming Indian Gaming

0

The gaming industry is thriving – so it’s no surprise that investors all over the world are keen to invest their money in this rapidly-growing sector. With total global revenue of $159 billion in 2020, some analysts believe that gaming could be worth over $200 billion in just three years’ time. This means that the potential returns for savvy investors who want to cash in on this growth are huge.

In India, this is certainly proving to be the case. The country’s gaming industry has attracted vast amounts of investment over the last few years, as developers are rushing to meet the soaring demand for new games and gaming platforms.

In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how investment is transforming the world of Indian gaming. From which companies are investing the funds to how this capital is being used, read on to find out more about this booming industry today.

How Much Money Has Been Invested?

According to a report by the company Maple Capital Investors, venture capitalist firms (VCs) have invested around $350 million into the Indian gaming industry between 2014 and the first few months of 2020. And that’s not the end of the matter. The Managing Director of Maple Capital Investors, Pankaj Karna, said that he expected the level of investment to “at least double” in the next couple of years.

Where Is the Money Going?

Whether we’re searching for our new favourite games on sites such as indiaslots.com or loading the latest video game on our mobiles, there’s never been more choice when it comes to gaming. Part of this is due to the diversity of different funding opportunities. Some of the most noticeable Indian gaming investments over the last few years include:

·         Tencent and Steadview Capital invested $100 million into Dream11, an Indian fantasy sports platform

·         Sequoia and Time’s Internets invested $41 million into the mobile e-sports app Mobile Premier League

·         One97 and AG Holdings invested $20 million into Paytm Games, an all-in-one online gaming destination

How Has the Industry Changed?

With more money being pumped into the Indian gaming industry, let’s explore how the sector has changed as a result.

One of the most striking changes is the fact that it’s enabled gaming to become big business. There are now more than 400 gaming start-ups in India, all of which have been able to secure at least basic funding. The fact that so many entrepreneurs are choosing to start companies in the gaming space is incredibly telling, showing that the sector is considered a strong money-maker by potential business owners.

Another key way in which investment is transforming Indian gaming is that it’s funding increasingly niche areas of the sector. In the report from Maple Capital Investors, the company noted that the fantasy sports landscape has been completely revolutionised by new levels of investment.

In fact, there were around seven times more fantasy sports operators in 2018 than they were in 2016, while the number of users increased by 25 times between June 2016 and February 2019!

Whether you’re a devoted gaming fan with all the latest equipment or a casual dabbler who prefers to play games on the go, it’s clear that almost every aspect of Indian gaming is being transformed by investment.

The Use of Technology in Sports

0

Sports and technology are two terms that people do not really use in the same sentence. However, technology and the developments that one sees in the domain, have become such an integral part of our lives that it is a daunting task to think of a day without technology.

Therefore, quite naturally, the industry of sports has also taken a liking towards technology. Sports and technology, in this day and age, share a deeply entrenched connection. The industry of sports has made massive progress due to the optimal use of various sorts of technologies.

Therefore, today when we speak of sports, it is important to talk a bit about how technology plays an important role in the industry as well. Thus, without delaying the topic any further, let us jump straight into it and see how technology is being used in sports.

Technology Helps Improve Field Conditions:

One of the most vital roles that technology plays in enhancing the industry of sports is that it improves the field conditions. Long back, when there was hardly any innovation, players would not have an idea about the field conditions.

However, we have come a long way from those days. Today, one can sit right inside the dressing room and get insights about the pitch and the overall field conditions. Such is the contribution of technology in sports. Plus, it is not just about predicting the field conditions. Technology, these days also make it easy to enhance the field conditions. Athletes no longer have to get blindsided or injured playing on the pitch.

Technology Improves the Viewing Experience:

Technology does not only enhance circumstances for the athletes, but it also improves the viewing experience for the fans. We take our sports viewing experience for granted because everything comes to us easily.

However, there is a world of innovations that goes behind delivering this viewing experience. One can sit right in their comfort zones and stream live matches. This is not something that we must take for granted.

In fact, if you happen to miss out the essential parts of matches, you can also record the same easily and watch later. Is this not something to cherish. It is important to remember that the boons of technology run much deeper than just playing games on your Mac or to batch rename files. It is also in the little things that we do not pay attention to.

Technology Helps Open Up Small Markets:

The use of technology in sports is much more than viewing our teams play and understanding match analysis. It helps the small markets to open up new avenues for them. The Internet is a space that has anything and everything.

All that we ever require is just a few clicks away from us. The industry of sports has taken advantage of this whole-heartedly. Small teams have websites on the webspace, and anyone can view them. These websites also draw a lot of traffic and sponsors which open up new portals for these teams to make money.

Plus, fans can stay informed about their players and the upcoming matches through the websites. Without these boons, teams like Milwaukee and Portland would stand nowhere.

The Use of Technology in Sports

Scouting Talent Has Become Easy:

With the help of technology, scouting talent has become easier than ever. Initially, coaches and team selection committees would have to depend entirely on their guts and evidence of the eye to select athletes.

However, with the advent of technology, things have changed. Coaches can coach athletes and measure how much players are worth. Team selection has become quite easy as well. With the aid of technology, scouts now have a world of information at their disposal. How fast athletes can run and jump, what their precision is when it comes to bowling and batting- all these vital pieces of information are now available.

These factors would go unnoticed for years. However, with the help of technology, the selection of teams and athletes have become much more precise and appropriate.

Technology Helps Make Games Fair:

We do not need to state this point. However, for the ones who do not know this yet, technology helps make games fair and square. Cheating in games is no longer possible since everything is right on the screen and at one’s fingertips. Even the slightest change in movements can now be noticed with the help of technology.

There is another vital point that we need to mention when it comes to technology. Technology has led to the invention of humidifiers that balances out the thin air in stadiums. This leaves room for a fair play by both the teams, thus, eliminating cheating.

Wrapping Up:

The aforementioned points make it clear for us why technology has become an integral part of sports these days. Technology helps in improving the condition of the fields, improves the methods of playing and eliminates cheating.

It also makes the viewing experience much easier and enhanced. Therefore, the next time you find yourself doubting the role of technology in sports, run your eye through these aforementioned points.

Microsoft plans to bring Android App support to Windows 10 with its Project Latte

0

Running Android apps on Windows is the thing that every one of us has tried at some point. I still remember installing the Bluestack emulator and running a bunch of APKs on my windows desktop. But no matter what we tried, the compatibility was always an issue.

But it seems like Microsoft is trying to finally bring support for Android Apps to Windows 10 devices. Earlier with its Project Astoria, Microsoft tried bringing the support for Android Apps to Windows 10 mobile, but the project was canceled, and so was the concept of Windows mobile phones. But now, Microsoft is making a second attempt at bringing Android app support to windows 10. This second attempt has been dubbed “Project Latte,” and its goal is to bring Android apps to Windows 10 as early as next year.

According to sources, the Project Latte will be powered by the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). The developers will be able to bring their apps to Windows 10 easily “with little to no code changes.” The apps will be packaged as MSIX, Windows app package format before they are submitted to the Microsoft Store. If the project becomes successful, then thousands of more apps will be added to the Windows app store. But the developers will face the issue of how the app will look on Windows. Due to the screen size difference between the PC and smartphones, developers will have a hard time rendering the apps to larger screen sizes.

Another issue is that Apps that require the support of Play Services may have to make some adjustments. Google doesn’t allow the installation of the Play Services app on any other device to accept an Android or ChromeOS. Reportedly, the Windows maker will announce its project next year, and we can expect it to release it by the fall 2021 update.

LG is going to release a redesigned 16-inch LG Gram with new 14 and 17-inch in 2021

1

LG laptops are always famous for being lightweight and having large displays. LG now is going to include a 17-inch variant in their Gram series. The company is willing to bring the model in 2021 with the model number ‘17Z90P’. The new 16-inch model is coming as ‘16Z90P’ with a 16:10 display. Whereas, the first leaked picture was of the 14-inch variant, the LG Gram 14Z90P.

In the last December, LG had announced LG Gram laptops and launched them in January 2020. The company might stick to its usual schedule. Still, there is no official announcement regarding the LG Gram series, but recently cozyplanes leaked an image of the upcoming 14-inch LG Gram 14Z90P.

Later, Mr. cozyplanes had mentioned the new 16-inch model, and also Notebookcheck managed to find the model numbers of the upcoming LG Gram laptops in the FCC database.

  • LG Gram 14 14Z90P
  • LG Gram 16 16Z90P
  • LG Gram 17 17Z90P

Notebookcheck hasn’t got any model numbers for 13-inch or 15-inch, so, it is assumed that LG is going to release a trio of redesigned 14, 16, and 17 inch Gram laptops in upcoming weeks. In the leaked picture it is noticed that on the right side of the laptop there are two USB-A ports and one microSD slot. It proves that LG wants to keep its traditional ports, even in the ultra-low-weight notebooks.

The maximum attraction is now on the 16-inch model because of its massive up-gradation from the 15.6-inch Gram 15Z90N to 16:10 form factor. The 17-inch model features a bit taller screen and also a higher resolution. The picture shows the EVO certification, so the Tiger Lake processor could be seen inside the laptop and also on the undiscovered side of the laptop, one Thunderbolt 4-port is expected.
