The Presidential post at Barcelona is still vacant after Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned from the role, owing to a no-confidence vote passed against him.
Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has now officially confirmed that he will be contesting the upcoming Presidential elections in hope of returning to power at Camp Nou.
In his previous spell, Joan served from 2003 to 2010. During the seven-year spell at Camp Nou, Barcelona famously won the treble in 2008/09.
All in all, the club won two Champions League trophies, four La Liga titles, the Spanish Cup in 2008/09, three Spanish Super Cups and one each of the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
“I’m running for elections because I love the club,” Laporta said at his official announcement.
“We have the preparation, experience and determination necessary for the changes that the club need. We have a plan. The plan is to work.
“I want to unite all Barca fans. This is not the time to reproach or look back. In the Barca that we propose, everyone fits.
“Our plan is to bring back happiness to the people. It’s not a simple election promise. It’s an ethical, civic, moral, social and united commitment.”
While the former President has not managed to speak to Messi about staying at the club yet, he did mention that the intention is to make the Argentine superstar stay at Camp Nou.
“We appreciate each other and we respect each other. He has time to decide – I am waiting to have the confidence of the socios.

“Messi loves Barca and I’m sure that the club can give him an opportunity. I see myself capable of, at the right moment, having a conversation with him. I know we can give each other some margin, anything can happen in life.”
Considering the success that Laporta achieved in his previous spell as Barcelona President, it looks as though he might already be the heir to the club once more come 2021.
Only five minutes into the match pitting Arsenal against Wolves, David Luiz and Raul Jimenez were involved in a sickening thud of heads following a corner taken by Willian.
The crack of the impact echoed throughout the stadium, and play was immediately stopped, with medics rushing onto the pitch as well.
David Luiz managed to fare off the better of the two players involved in the incident. However, he was bleeding from the head as well and required heavy bandaging on his head to carry on playing.
For Raul Jimenez, on the other hand, it was the end of the night as the striker had to be stretchered off the pitch after the horrifying incident. The injured player had to be supplied with oxygen in addition to being severely incapacitated.
The NHS paramedics were very quick in their decision making despite being faced with a code-red situation. Jimenez was immediately transported to a medical facility in London where he underwent surgery on Sunday night.

The Mexican suffered a skull fracture and is currently recovering from a successful surgery. Wolves provided an update on their star player’s condition, confirming that Jimenez was comfortable and was with his family and partner in the hospital.
The club further requested fans to respect the player’s privacy during the difficult time and wished him a speedy recovery.
Raul Jimenez suffered a fractured skull in yesterday's game against Arsenal but is now 'comfortable' in hospital after the operation.
While no timescale has been placed on the forward’s return, it is likely that Jimenez will be out for a considerable amount of time.
David Luiz managed to carry on for the remainder of the first half but was substituted at half-time.
The incident has sparked demands for a “concussion substitution” in the Premier League to protect the players from long-term complications.
Many players and managers agree that it is important that the Premier League encourages that players should be subbed off in case of a concussion for their well being and for additional safety for the athletes.
NVIDIA is already having a bad time in managing its stock of its new RTX 30-series GPUs, now in the mean time, when only a day is left for the launch of its upcoming mid-range GPU RTX 3060 Ti, a buyer already buys a custom AIB GPU and shares the details of it.
This is because, to attract gamers, retailers have already posted these GPUs even before launch and it seems people have bought them as well. Obviously, this is a result of the overpricing which retailers are enjoying but customers with deep pockets have no problem until they get a card in their hands.

Videocardz‘s reader Paulo Pinto did pay about 526 EUR for the Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti GAMING OC, including 23% VAT, and was bought in a Portuguese store. Great to see, as promised, NVIDIA has brought back the 8-pin power connector and this a 2-slot design with triple cooling fans.

As per leaks, NVIDIA has included 4,864 CUDA cores and comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The RAM module is clocked at 14 Gbps on a 256-bit interface. The card has two slots and will also have a memory bandwidth of 448 GB/s. The card will also have a Total Graphics Power (TGP) of 200 W. the primary clock of the RTX 3060 Ti will have a clock speed of 1,410 MHz, while the boost clock of the card will be 1,665 MHz.
NVIDIA recommends using at least a 500 W power supply for the RTX 3060 Ti, a full 150 W less than it does for the RTX 3070. but, the RTX 3070 only has a 20 W higher TGP than the RTX 3060 Ti. The RTX 3060 Ti is based on its GA104-200-A1 GPU.
The ongoing pandemic has brought about various changes in the consumer spending curve. With more people investing in smart devices, the demand for high-performing smart devices has increased exponentially in the market; as such many of the smart device manufacturers have attained record-breaking profits in the 2020 fiscal year earnings.
According to sources, ZTE has launched its new smartwatch called the Watch Live. The OEM is known for releasing many groundbreaking products, such as its latest Axon 20 5G smartphone. It comes with an under-display camera, which is a first in the industry. Coming to Watch Live, the device has a square-faced display with advanced fitness tracking features. The display is a 1.3-inch, 240×240 TFT display.
Reports indicate that Watch Live offers 12 different sports modes, along with sleep- and stress-tracking features. The smartwatch also features continuous heart-rate tracking as well as SpO2 measurements. The total battery capacity of the smartwatch is unknown, but the OEM claims that it can last from between 14 to 21 days on a single charge.
The new ZTE Watch Live also has an IP68 certification. The device is currently listed on ZTE’s market web-store at 249 yuan (~US$38). Currently, the company provides the device in black finish with a black silicone band. The strap, however, will also come in blue, orange, or gray, although these options appear not to be available to order yet. With the increasing demand for smart devices, it seems that many OEMs are trying to boost their smart fitness tracking manufacturing business. The raging pandemic has increased the popularity of fitness tracking devices and, as such, will only see their sales margin going high in the future.
In several places like the Chernobyl Reactor 4, where a human being doesn’t want to go. In 1986, the reactor suffered a catastrophic meltdown. Now, it is covered up in every possible way to keep its nuclear core contained. But in the end, the nuclear material has to be dealt with anyhow and to do that it has to be understood which bits of it are very bad and which are worst. To help, here comes the ‘Spot’.
Within six months after the disaster, Reactor 4 was covered with a sarcophagus or shelter structure made of concrete and steel to keep all the nuclear power from leaking out. It still contains “30 tons of highly contaminated dust, 16 tons of uranium and plutonium, and 200 tons of radioactive lava.”
Now the Reactor 4 is inside the NSC (New Safe Confinement) structure. The structure will provide a safe containment from the left of the reactor. There is a better opportunity for the robot than a human being, to go inside the containment zone.
Megson-Smith, a researcher at the University of Bristol and part of Hot Robotics Facility at National Nuclear User Facility, said that “We actually built a map of the radiation coming out of the front wall of Chernobyl power plant as we were in there with it.” Also, he shared a picture, which has captured the gamma photon count rate coming out from a wall of the Chernobyl power plant.
It is a big challenge to make an incredibly radiation-proof robot, and there should be an extensive test to recover the failures. In Fukushima, there is a particular place, where robots go to die after failures, you can say a ‘robot graveyard’. He said, “So the thing they’re worried about with Spot is, what is its tolerance? What components will fail, and what can we do to harden it? We’re approaching Boston Dynamics at the moment to see if they’ll work with us to address some of those questions.”

Radiation mapping is the main target for the ‘Spot’. Chernobyl knows that their future is dependent on robots. “Ultimately, Chernobyl has to be taken apart and decommissioned. That’s the long-term plan for the facility. To do that, you first need to understand everything, which is where we come in with our sensor systems and robotic platforms,” Megson-Smith tells us. “Since there are entire swathes of the Chernobyl nuclear plant where people can’t go in, we’d need robots like Spot to do those environmental characterizations.”
Spotify is undoubtedly one of the most popular music streaming services available. The Swedish media streaming firm is trying to go neck-to-neck with Apple’s Music service. With the company releasing a lot of new features this year, it seems that it is moving in the right direction as a music streaming service should. But according to recent reports the media streaming firm is doing something interesting. According to sources, Spotify is currently testing its own version of stories.
For the masses stories have been a part of popular social media platforms. We have seen them on Snapchat for as long as one can remember. Even social media giants like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and even Twitter in one way or another have adopted to stories. But Spotify is a music streaming service. So it is really surprising for it to be testing out this feature.
Many on internet after hearing this have their mixed reviews. Some are even confused as to why a music streaming service requires stories in the first place. According to sources, the feature is still in the testing phase. It works just as any other stories feature works; with you being able to either tap or swipe left or right.
Since the feature is still in beta testing some lucky users might get a taste of this new feature. But nonetheless it will soon be available to general masses. Sources claim that spotify will be launching the feature for both the Android and iOS version of its app. A music streaming service, launching stories mode for its app is both hilarious and awesome. It will be interesting to see how the company decides to move forward.
Online casinos come with numerous perks for someone who wants to spend a night gambling from their home. They are incredibly convenient, enormously accessible and lets you have some fun gambling in your PJs.
You might take up online gambling for a number of reasons, including a raging pandemic that requires you to social distance. The necessity for online casinos was intensely felt when casinos around the world closed their doors for a while. Online gambling has been gaining popularity for a few years, and during this time, numerous technological innovations have come about to improve user experience and safety.
Let us see how technology has impacted the world of online gambling and what it could bring in the future.
Mobile Gambling
Nearly everything that used to be accessible only via computers can now be opened up in your smartphone. Having a well-functioning cell phone and good internet connectivity means that you can do the things you love on the internet no matter where you are. Today numerous casinos can be accessed on your phone even if you are waiting for the bus somewhere. These mobile casino apps will have multiple casino games that you can easily play whenever you want to.
Sports betting used to be done at sportsbooks where people gathered to make wagers on teams, players and outcomes. Today you can bet on your favourite sports using mobile applications that are operated by licensed bookies. Placing bets can be done from your living room, and you can even take part in live-betting while watching a game on your TV.
Payments are also quicker and safer and can be done through gateways and e-wallets using your phone. You can find a great online casino Canada free spins that permits the use of cryptocurrencies, so you can start gambling with your Bitcoins.
Voice Recognition
It is pretty common these days to have an AI at home you can talk to and give various instructions. The AIs are so well developed that they catch everything you say and work accordingly. Even Siri or Google Assistant in your phones work based on voice recognition and listening to your commands.
Voice Recognition is a pretty new feature found in a few online casinos. To emulate the feeling of playing at an actual casino, you could speak up the directions regarding your play instead of clicking with your cursor.
The Wild Tornado Casino was the first online Gambling site that made use of voice recognition technology. Soon, you will have the opportunity to play a game of Blackjack or Poker at your favourite online casinos, mostly via speaking, as you would have at a physical location.
VR Gambling
The world of Virtual Reality boasts numerous games, and these include gambling games. They are a fun way to feel like you’re at a casino without leaving your house. Sit on your dinner table with your VR headset on, and suddenly, you will be at a poker table in a luxurious casino. Your VR avatar will reflect your hand gestures, and you can also study the other players who might be strangers from around the world or your friends. VR gambling games are extremely useful if you want to have fun gambling and socializing.
Improved Graphics
From 360p a few years ago, graphics have reached 4k and above, and this upgrade is also seen in online casino games. Graphics are now crisper and more defined while transitions look smoother. The improved graphics increase the all-around experience of anyone who plays these gambling games.
Gesture Recognition
Much like voice recognition, gesture recognition is also a useful tool. It is already used in VR games where your real-life movements will be reflected in the game. This gesture recognition helps you understand the tells of the other players and proceed accordingly. Your skills and chances of winning will improve, and your experience will be more like at an actual casino.
Facial Recognition
You usually get to customize your avatar while playing at an Online Casino or a VR game. But it would be fantastic if your avatar resembled you in terms of facial features. When playing using a VR headset, you will be surrounded by Avatars that look just like your friends. Won’t that make online gambling even more fun? Rather than pre-set features common to everyone, you will all look the way you do in reality.
Summing Up
Casinos have been around for decades, and they shifted online with the massive spread of internet and computers. Now you can access casinos via a phone that fits in your hands. Technological advancements have been improving the gameplay in casinos, and VR gambling provides a fantastic new experience to all. With voice, face and gesture recognition, your online casino experience will reach unimaginable heights in no time at all.

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday night, former Manchester United great Roy Keane said that he believes Spurs are not strong enough to be genuine title contenders. The side coached by Jose Mourinho are currently top of the table with 21 points in 8 games and lead Liverpool only on goal difference.
Keane was quoted as saying, “They have the X-factor in Mourinho and Harry Kane, I don’t think that’s enough. They were hanging on at the end at Stamford Bridge.” He also believes that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have a better squad in terms of quality and depth, and so Spurs might struggle to contend for the title.
“I think they are on for a very good season, but a very good season is a big difference to trying to win the league title. I don’t think so. Manchester City are stronger than Spurs.”
Although Keane might be basing his opinion on the track record that Tottenham have in terms of challenging for the title, there might be some things that stand out differently.
For example, Mourinho’s team have started attacking better and already have 21 goals so far whilst retaining his original defensive philosophy and only conceding 9 goals. The Portuguese manager has also managed to gel them into a well-oiled counter-attacking outfit, which has seen them pay dividends so far.
More so, the coach is someone who possesses grit, determination and experience in winning PL titles before. And with star players who are also dressing room leaders like Kane, Son, Lloris, Alderweireld and Ndombele, to name a few, they look like serious challengers are not to be taken lightly.
Therefore, there is a very real possibility that with easier fixtures such as Crystal Palace, Fulham and Wolves upcoming, they could stack on some points and show their true title credentials. Only time will tell whether or not they can get to a position of winning the trophy but Mourinho’s men will leave no stone unturned in doing so.
Celtic’s 35 consecutive cup victory run was put to a shocking halt at home, as they lost 2-0 to a depleted Ross County team in the Scottish League Cup. The Scottish fans are infamous for their passionate celebrations when victorious, and their animated fury when the team performs badly.
The defeat to an injury-plagued, 9th place team in the Premiership on the back of their cup victory streak was a very tough pill to swallow for all those passionate about the club.
— Babs McMahon 💞💚 #RememberNoah💙 (@BarbaraMcMahon8) November 29, 2020
This 2-0 defeat is Celtic’s fourth consecutive home defeat in all competitions for the first time since the 1950s, and fans gathered in protest of manager Neil Lennon’s place as the manager of the club.
Fans gathered in protest and eventually turned violent, throwing missiles at the vehicles of the players and the manager as they tried to exit the stadium. The violent behaviour has managed to draw away from the events on the pitch and make the protests the centre of attention.
The Hoops have had a disappointing season by their standards, the most prominent result of which is the fact that they are currently second in the league behind Old Firm rivals Rangers, trailing by 11 points with 30 from 13 games.
The club themselves have released a statement acknowledging the events on the pitch and condemning the violent protests carried out by the fans. Here is the official statement in full:
Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by today's result.
While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully.
“Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by this afternoon’s result, one which has ended our phenomenal run of 35 consecutive cup victories. While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all Celtic supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully. For players and a management team, who have given so much in recent years and have delivered 11 consecutive trophies, to require an escort from Celtic Park while being targeted with missiles, is simply unacceptable. While we understand that only a small number of people were involved in this behaviour, some of the actions this evening, which have obviously left our own players shaken, cannot be condoned in any way.”
