0

Fastrack brings its new audio glasses called Vibe Audio Smart Glass to India. The square frames of it hold glasses that have UV 400 protection as well as polarized lens just to protect your eyes.

The Vibes is coming with a full-rim design made up of plastic and has both Bluetooth speakers and microphones in-built. Though the company provides the outdated Bluetooth 4.1, it promises up to 30ft of connectivity range.

Priced at Rs.3499, the products have been designed keeping in mind the sunglasses wearer, they are lightweight, sleek and loaded with features which have novelty and utility while travelling,”

Manchester City academy player joins Manchester United

Manchester United have agreed on a fee with Manchester City for teenager Charlie McNeill. According to Manchester Evening News, the price could rise up to £1.35M.

McNeil is a United supporter. The 17 years old joined City academy 6 years ago from United for a cost of £12,000.

McNeil has refused to sign a new contract after the expiration of his earlier contract in June this year. However, he did not turn 17 until this week, and anybody that wanted to sign the goal-scorer still had to negotiate a fee with his former club or risk a tribunal deciding his true value.

United is so keen to add him to their youth squad. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is signing a lot of youths which surely indicates his plans are long-term and involve young players. His team’s average is just 25 years which is the youngest team in EPL.

After joining as a manager he has given many academy graduates a chance in the first team. Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams are two key players of the first team after a breakthrough last season. Every academy graduates are dreaming to replicate their journey.

Red Devils have already signed Alejandro Garnacho, Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez, Isak Hansen-Aaron, Joe Hugill, Logan Pye, and Radek Vitek to their youth team this summer.

The MEN also reported that United have agreed an initial £750,000 potentially rising to £1.35m, with City also will financially benefit from any future sale.

The confirmation of the deal is expected to be announced soon.

Ansu Fati suffers injury before the friendly against Nàstic

0

The 17-year old wonderkid of Barcelona landed days ago at the training camp after scoring the brilliant goal for the Spanish National team and creating the record to be the youngest ever player to do so. Obviously, everyone loved his amazing goal and has a lot of expectations from the young talent for the upcoming season.

However, there’s the setback for Fati as he has suffered a right hip contusion during Friday’s training session under Koeman and will be out for Saturday’s friendly against Nàstic. Here’s the club statement:

“One player who will not amongst those to feature against Nàstic is Ansu Fati. The Spanish international has a bruised hip following Friday’s session and he is out of action for the time being. His recovery will dictate his return.”

We hope that this injury is not serious for Ansu and he gets back to his feet soon to amaze us with his sensational football talent for the upcoming crucial LaLiga season.

Antoine Griezmann will be FC Barcelona’s next no.7 for the upcoming season

1

Being the number 7 for quite some time now, precisely from 2010/11 season for Real Sociedad and for Atletico Madrid as well along with his incredible contribution for France and obviously the 2018 World Cup win in Russia.

For almost all of the Frenchman’s greatest achievements he had the number 7 jersey, but when he arrived at Camp Nou, was occupied by Philippe Coutinho at that time and so he had to be content with the no.17. Having the double-digit for the Blaugranas he scored only 15 goals in 41 games, not near to his full potential as he used to.

So, this year even though Coutinho has returned but according to the LaLiga rule, the club can allow Griezmann to wear the no.7 jersey following the footsteps of the club legends such as David Villa, Pedro, Larsson and Saviola. However, Coutinho also arrived a lot of promise wearing the no.7 but we haven’t seen the best from him yet and so, the Frenchman should step up to his full potential this season.

“I would like to get the number 7 shirt back,” said Griezmann back at the end of March and now the club has given the opportunity to reunite with what has proven to be a lucky number for the forward. A lot of hope is now upon Antonie Griezmann now…🙌

The Asus VivoBook Flip 14 with Ryzen 7 4700U outmuscles the Core i7-1065G7 on the Dell XPS 13

0

I recently purchased the new Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U from Amazon and posted a first impressions article already. Even though I haven’t completed my review for the laptop, the performance tests with this thin and light laptop have totally blown me away, as you see by the title, this 2-in-1 laptop that costs $699 in the US and should cost ₹ 69,990 in India beats the Dell XPS 13 that costs about $1800 in the US and ₹ 2,10,998 in India.

At first, when I received the laptop, the scores that I got weren’t that much convincing and I knew it because the APU was max clocking at 2.87GHz. It was really a BIOS issue and have updated it, the laptop was boosting at a whopping 4.18 GHz clock speed, reaching its full potential of 4.1GHz. So, initially, the benchmarks were not good, however, after the update, this laptop was like a beast.

All of the 8 Zen 2 cores were ramping up while running Geekbench or Cinebench but I like how the thermals of the new Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 has been managed. So, in the Geekbench 5, the Ryzen 7 4700U with 8GB RAM (512MB is reserved for the Vega iGPU) achieved a score of 1137 points in the single-core test while managing a humongous 5136 points in multi-core tests.

On the other hand, managing an average score from Geekbench 5 database, the Dell XPS 13 with its mighty Core i7-1065G7 and 16GB of RAM managed to score 1265 points in the single-core test while managing a humongous 4812 points in multi-core tests. So, even though coming in at so cheap, the Asus VivoBook Flip 14 with Ryzen 7 4700U did manage to compete against the costlier Dell XPS 13 with better cooling, closing in on the single-core tests and edging past the Intel CPU in the multi-core tests.

The Asus VivoBook Flip 14 with Ryzen 7 4700U outmuscles the Core i7-1065G7 on the Dell XPS 13

Coming to Cinebench R20, the Ryzen APU managed to score 351 points in a single-core score while gathering a hefty 2254 points in multi-core tests. On the other hand, the Intel Core i7-1065G7 on the Dell XPS 13 just manages 1770 points in multi-core tests while still dominating AMD on the single-core with 428 points as per the review of HotHardware.

I wonder if this laptop is upgraded with more RAM how much more performance you achieve with this, that too in a slim form factor. Overall, as a budget ultrabook, the Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 with Ryzen 7 4700U is the best value that you can ask for especially being a 2-in-1 light and portable laptop. It seems that Dell should now look for AMD as Ryzen seems a value king and can reach masses.

IPL 2020: The best batsmen of each IPL team

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is only a week away. After the tournament was postponed, after many hindrances and altercations, the IPL will begin on September 19 in UAE.

The fact that the tournament is in UAE, will bring an interesting element to every aspect of the game. However, most of the time under sub-continental conditions one thing remains constant, a free flow of runs! After all, cricket by many is termed as a batsman’s game.

Today we will name some of the best batsmen of each team in IPL 2020. The cricketers will be not be judged solely on runs but the overall impact they have on the course of the game. We will also see batsmen that deliver that X-factor required for T20 that too on a consistent basis.

Mumbai Indians

We start the discussion off with the defending champions. Mumbai Indians are predominantly known for their stacked batting lineup. Each and every batsman is capable of turning the game in its head. Probably that’s one of the reasons why they have been so successful and at times got away from the crunch situations. The best batsmen from the Mumbai Indians include:

ROHIT SHARMA – How can we talk about the best batsmen in IPL and not mention Hitman? That being said, Sharma is hands down the best batsman in the MI camp. Sharma is known for his lazy elegance and when set, he can single-handedly carry the game. However, he has shown some vulnerability against spin and in UAE he’ll have to be extremely careful.

QUINTON DE KOCK– One may think why is de Kock included in the conversation? The young yet experienced South African has been constantly evolving. This led to him being appointed as the captain for RSA’s T20 side. He has improved a lot against spin and as a left-hander, he’ll be able to attack most of the spinners who happen to be leg-spinner.

KIERON POLLARD – He may not have the consistency factor going his way but if he gets going, the big man can steal almost every game.

An honourable mention would be of explosive Australian Chris Lynn. Lynn may not be a regular customer on the MI side, however, given a chance, he can cause some massive damage as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

VIRAT KOHLI – Virat Kohli is hands down one of the best, if not the best cricketers in the world irrespective of the formats. The captain will be extremely important for the side this time around as well.

virat kohli

AB de VILLIERS – De Villiers hasn’t been that active, however, you can never count Mr. 360 out of the game.

AARON FINCH – Aaron Finch will bring stability to the RCB line-up which they always needed. He is currently at number 3 in the ICC T20 batsmen rankings.

MOEEN ALI – Ali showed tremendous potential last year by carrying the RCB middle-order. He has been in splendid form and will play a pivotal role this time around as well.

However, as we all know with RCB, putting the pieces together has been the issue for them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

DAVID WARNER – Warner is quickly establishing himself as one of the modern era legends. He’s among one of the best limited over batsman in the world.

JOHNNY BAIRSTOW – Bairstow has had a massive 2019 with exceptional performances in IPL 2019 and World Cup 2019. He can play both the attacking and the anchor role.

MANISH PANDEY – The Indian international can do better playing at number 3 or 4, rather than playing down the order as he does for Team India.

Kings XI Punjab

KL RAHUL – KL Rahul has catapulted his way to an impressive number 2 spot in the ICC T20 best batsmen rankings. Traditionally known for handling responsibility, his batting can get even better with the captaincy.

CHRIS GAYLE – The big West Indian needs no introduction. We all know what he can do if he gets going.

GLENN MAXWELL – Maxwell has shown tremendous form after a much needed break.

Rajasthan Royals

JOS BUTTLER – Buttler has been a destructive opener in the T20 format. The recent series against Pakistan shows he’s in sublime form as well. A newly formed Royals will need him to deliver.

STEVE SMITH – Captain Steve Smith will look forward to lead by example.

YASHASVI JAISWAL – Here’s where the X-factor variable comes in. The entire nation wants to see Jaiswal bat against world-class competition. He became the youngest Indian to score a first-class double century. He will have to provide assistance to Buttler in the absence of Ajinkya Rahane.

DAVID MILLER – ‘Killer Miller’ loves to perform in IPL. Miller’s experience will provide RR with the firepower they always needed in the middle-order.

Delhi Capitals

SHREYAS IYER – Iyer has been a really good captain for the side as he took them to playoffs last year. He will be a key asset with the bat.

RISHABH PANT – The 22-year old wicket-keeper batsman can change the course of the game really quickly. He will need some consistency though.

Kolkata Knight Riders

ANDRE RUSSELL – Take about an impact player! Russell can snatch the game from the jaws of the defeat just like he did against RCB last year. He can easily maintain a strike rate of over 150. A new KKR management is thinking of promoting him to number 3 where he can be more lethal.

(PC- Sportskeeda)

EOIN MORGAN – The English captain may get a start this year. He has proven to be a game-changer who can bat at any position as well.

Chennai Super Kings

AMBATI RAYADU – Rayadu has been extremely destructive as an opener. He has been a run machine despite playing traditional cricket shots. He lays a nice foundation for the middle-order to expound upon.

SHANE WATSON – Watson, even after retirement, continues to be one of the most scared batsmen ever. He almost won CSK the IPL last year. He is expected to get the job done this tie around as well.

(PC- indianexpress)

MS DHONI – After a much-needed break and retiring from international duties, MSD is expected to go all guns blazing.

Gautam Virk from NODWIN Gaming feels in spite of challenges due to the global pandemic, eSports in India will grow

0

The world has changed since March 2020, the global pandemic has frightened everyone to stay at home, however, one thing that has helped everyone to refresh is obviously GAMING. Yes, the gaming industry has exploded after the worldwide lockdowns were made and people are comfortable these days to not only work from home but also play games at their own comfort.

So, this has increased the number of players in the gaming industry, whose projected revenue is likely to increase over time. Now, only a man from the gaming industry will only be able to tell how the market has evolved in a country like India, and this is the reason why we interviewed Mr. Gautam Virk from NODWIN Gaming, India’s largest esports company, who gave us some insights & his views on the eSports gaming industry in India.

In an exclusive interview with TechnoSports, Mr. Gautam Virk, Co-Founder & COO, NODWIN Gaming has spoken about the eSports industry in India, its growth, challenges faced in the pandemic, its evolution & talked about its future in the country

We asked a series of questions, which Mr. Gautam did answer sportingly:

How has NODWIN Gaming changed the gaming industry?

  • Made eSports available to the masses
  • Penetrated rural India
  • Turned esports into a spectator sport in India
  • Introduced broadcast innovations
  • Creation of new IPs to cater to a wider audience with diverse game titles
  • Contributed largely to the 200% YoY increase in prize pool given out in India in2019-20
  • Provided a platform for the growth of new talents

How do you see how this pandemic benefited to the gaming industry?

Living in the changes depending on the question kind of like receive its answers itself because of the fact that people over stuck at home. We don’t be spending a lot more time at home and they’re playing games.

We need to take and I believe becomes anymore, you know open doors. They will spend the time that you want to spend, you know, doing your favorite activity with this playing game or whether it be not casual games or whether it be a competitive game. My family is, you know more acceptable to the fact that it comes with. Okay, the other stuff body doesn’t lie about that. They understand now, even I feel the fact that the three maybe three hours my wife has never complained that we know that you’re spending too much time playing games.

Yeah, obviously people have more time to spend on gaming in India, so as an eSports organizer how do you see the market growing in next few years?

We are growing exponentially and this I would say that the cost of data in India being the cheapest, you know, mobile internet, you know, you can get the mobile internet the cheapest in the world, right? It’s not even like this again. Not the third or the second but the number one, India has the cheapest mobile data.

You step out of the country. Every other place will be more expensive than India and this was one of the biggest reasons why the boom actually started even at the end of 2018 and 2019 when we saw the big rush coming in.

Until now streaming games was not a profession and now it is thanks to platforms like YouTube

Yes, the availability of content started, now because you brought up YouTube started reaching to the tier 2 and tier 3 cities, slowly the Hindi-speaking guys became more popular. Now if you want to do anything on YouTube preference is on the Hindi language only, now the majority in the country has a Hindi speaking audience, currently, the gates have opened up to tier 2 and tier 3 city audiences sitting their homes.

How NODWIN Gaming has used technology to bring a revolution in the gaming segment?

  • Extensive use of AR to enhance the viewing experience
  • Use of AI in Anti-cheats, live scoring, etc
  • Implemented remote broadcast in the time of the lockdown
  • Engaging broadcast segments like player and fan interaction interviews conducted remotely

So, you would reckon the fact that the huge popularity of smartphones has helped shape up the gaming industry

Cheap data has helped more people get access to popular games. I remember it used to be that the PUBG game was impossible to download when it was 1 GB. Now people don’t mind downloading large games, people don’t mind spending time playing games because the data is not very costly these days. This is the 2019 discussion, by 2020 the lockdowns have happened, people are sitting at home. Some people have more time at that, right? Not that they still spending eight hours after whatever they do we work from home.

Also, people have more time to not only play people have more time to watch as well. So the number is you know broken records as well, 500K people were watching PUBG Mobile alone, I think that was in Hindi, 15 teams were playing among them 5/6 were of India and the team by the name of Orange Rock came second in the tournament right behind the team from Thailand.

It’s because of the pandemic at the end of the day, people are staying at home and there is no sport happening. There’s no Cricket happening, no badminton happening, but guess what eSports is running because it’s a sport that runs in a virtual stadium and that stadium is a server that you know, hosted somewhere and people can connect to it remotely.

Goods and Bads about the pandemic on the eSports gaming industry

Goods

  • Achieved the highest viewership – 1.5 to 2 million views per stream every day
  • Watch time increased by more than 350% on OTT platforms
  • Everything online meant less hassle
  • 1866% increase in participation (ESLIP Summer)

Bads

  • No LAN events – no cheering crowd
  • Remote operations meant prioritizing monitoring of work all the time
  • Online conversation is poles apart from a face-to-face conversation – risks of miscommunication

How has your ongoing competitions like Valorant tournament been going & what do you plan next?

As you already know, we have already announced we are in the middle of running those tournaments and I believe we are in the second stage. We are very happy with the report that we got from the audience that we got from the launch of the tournament. From the very first live stream of the tournament, the response was massive from the people and this really made us feel that we are getting a lot of growth via mobile streaming as well.

Because you know people have generally, you know, starting to watch more and more games, the mobile gamers are not just strictly watching mobile games because of the access to the Internet and mobile phones now, they can watch PC games as well and PC gaming viewership is also going up thanks to mobile gaming and Valorant, in that case, is doing very. A number of teams are also playing Valorant, mobile gamers are also playing along with PC Gamers as well.

And there are popular games like Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto people are loving, the Indian audience will continue to grow and we will continue to support them. So Valorant is a great example for us, as this is a new game coming in right? There is no ecosystem in the country, but NODWIN is in place to kick-start the ecosystem and it’s not just one of the events. It’s a proper four qualifiers to a finale with a huge sum of prize money.

If it does well, we will add it to our National Championship and being added to it means that for 10 months a year there will be Valorant tournaments, they do not have to be standalone anymore, being part ESL India Premiership, powered by NODWIN Gaming that’s what we call the national championship. So it should replenish itself for almost 10 months a year then, and it continues to support the game for most of the year and you broadcast on Hotstar or Youtube.

People are concerned about PUBG Mobile’s ban, what’s your take on it and on the new FAU-G game?

A large section of professional gamers is affected by the ban but as an organizer, it’s not our place to comment on the subject as two parties involved are the government and the publisher. We respect whatever decision best suits the country.

How do you see PM’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat plans incorporated in the eSports gaming market?

FAU-G as a part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat is too early to comment upon, as we need to see how the game is in the first place and how it will contribute to the eSports circuit.

College Student-only social network: Facebook Connect launches in the US

Facebook launches a new college student-centric social network platform named Facebook Campus. Two reasons are there behind launching this – the main one is maximum of the campuses are shifting (partly or fully) towards remote learning and the second part is this takes Facebook to its root as initially, Facebook was a college-only network.

For now, Facebook Campus rolled out for thirty universities in the US. There is no information regarding its launch in other countries. In the Facebook application, students will get a dedicated section for Facebook Campus. They need to create a separate profile for it providing their college email and graduation year. Other information like classes, home town, etc will be optional to fill.

The Campus will allow college students to reach the groups and events of their own college. In addition, obviously, all of them will get the opportunity to connect with their classmates having similar interests. In the case of post reach or visibility, Facebook says contents, shared on Campus will be visible to those particular colleges only, and if one blocked someone on Facebook, the same thing will be reflected on Campus too.

Facebook Campus - 1_TechnoSports.co.in

Charmaine Hung, Product Manager of Facebook Campus said, “College is a time for making new friends, finding people who share similar interests and discovering new opportunities to connect – from clubs to study groups, sports and more,” He added further, “In the early days, Facebook was a college-only network, and now we’re returning to our roots with Facebook Campus to help students make and maintain these relationships, even if they’re away from their college.”

The news feeds of the Facebook Campus will show only college-specific contents like the updates of the classmates, groups, and events. Besides, classmate directory and chat-room facilities are also offered. Some of the thirty colleges of the US are Brown University, California Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins University, Sarah Lawrence College, and Virginia Tech. Students of these colleges will get the Facebook Campus available on their Facebook application.

PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21 SEASON PREVIEW: Can Manchester City lift the title come season end?

0

The expected favourites, the rage in the squad – Manchester City are not going to sit about and let Liverpool retain their Premier League title. After what was a shambolic season by their recent standards, City fell short of expectations in many major competitions last season. But it was the 21 points gap that hurt the most and this season, with a few value-added signings made and a couple more still to arrive, it could be the start of something special for Pep’s men in his fourth season.

Transfer activity

Man City made quick pursuit of Ferran Torres from Valencia and Nathan Ake of Bournemouth and closed out the signings with relative ease. Signed for a combined 60 million pounds in upfront fees, the former champions sorted depth in the right-wing and centre-back departments. The ongoing chase for their most primed target, however, is taking longer than expected. Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli would likely cost 75 million euros but City are not yet ready to meet the asking price. There was talk of Lionel Messi joining, but that was quickly shut down. Houssem Aouar is a concrete midfield target per news reports, and so it is yet to be seen what moves City make before the deadline.

Strength

There is little doubt that City have the best bench strength in the entire league, and they have made full utilisation at various points of time. Further, the attacking play and pressing from all areas of the pitch is a gameplay that is a joy to watch and it is this reason that City have scored 100+ goals in the league in consecutive campaigns. With an ability such as Bernardo Silva and now Ferran Torres to make an impact, the team ensures that the results are a team effort and not simply a one-man show at all times.

Weakness

No matter who the favourites are, there are always question marks on the team to deliver the finish. And one such problem is the calamity in defence. Man City only conceded 33 goals last season, albeit at different intervals and thus lost 9 GAMES in the process. The inability of the centre backs and defensive midfield units to cohesively stop counters with full-backs higher up the pitch has led to counter-attacking teams to carve open City’s defence. Another question sheds light on the lack of leaders at the club, with David Silva and Vincent Kompany now having left the club. Whether apparent club captain De Bruyne steps up with Fernandinho to inspire the dressing room, is another topic.

Key players

Recently crowned PFA Player of The Year Kevin De Bruyne is undoubtedly the talisman and central driving force of the club. The Belgian maestro notched 13 goals and 20 assists in the league last season and he will look to continue his good form going forward. Similarly, the other key player Raheem Sterling would desire to add to his goal tally and as he enters a period of prime maturity, he will look to deliver when the team needs him to do so possibly bettering his previous 18-goals return.

Predicted table finish

Champions! Despite all the serious threats of a tight title race and few weaknesses in the team, City should have enough quality and spirit in the squad to see out the challenge from rivals and add another league title to their expanding collection of honours.
