Our country is the second most populated country in the world, so naturally in a digital India, the need for digital devices is immense. So, to empower them, at the core of any electronic device is the processor or SoC, which built from wafers and currently makers like Samsung, TSMC are the leaders in this segment.
A chip manufacturing plant is a resource-intensive task but ultimately drives investment from various companies who use these wafers to make processors, GPUs, mobile SoCs and a lot more. India heavily relies on Taiwan for semiconductors, so does the rest of the world but a country like India has the labour to support a chip plant.
via Times of India
It seems finally India is considering this opportunity to act together to finally make this happen. As per Times of India’s latest article, India is considering this because it imports almost 65% of the electronic items from China and anything coming from the country is considered to be a security threat.
Here’s what the articles states:
The expressions of interest (Eol) shows we are really serious now,” VK Saraswat, member of the Niti AnyoR, said at a webinar organised last week by Times Tuchles, together with the India Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA).
Saraswat said previous attempts by India to establish chip fabs failed because the government’s policy was to reimburse costs only after the private sector set up a project “The country has realised that there’s no way other than for the government to make upfront investments,” he said.
Saurabh Gaur, Joint secretary In the electronics & IT ministry, said the Eol response has been good but said he could not disclose details yet he said India accounts for 5% of global semiconductor demand. The country’s demand for 28 nm (a measure of the size of transistors in a chip) semiconductor nodes and higher ones are in excess of $25 billion.
“And if a typical fab output is of say 3-4 billion, then we see space for fabs that can be ready in the next 23 years,” he said.
But almost every panellist, including Gaur, indicated that India’s best opportunities are in what are called compound semiconductors those made of two or more elements, like allium nitride, allium arsenide, silicon carbide. These are used in a variety of media products, and these fabs cost much less set up than the traditional fabs.
If India progresses in this direction, surely in the coming few years, India could indeed setup a semiconductor plant, which in turn will attract companies to invest in the soil. In a fast pacing digital world, this could be a gamechanging move if India somehow manages to do things in a right way possible.

Footballers lead a very luxurious life which is possible only because of their huge earnings. They earn from their football clubs and also from endorsements. Social media platforms like Instagram have become an important source of income for footballers now-a-days.
The research, carried out by luxury clothing retailer Aphrodite, analysed follower count, value per post, and post frequency to calculate an estimated yearly fee for each player.
Here we take a look at the Premier League forwards:
Top 10 Premier League forwards earning the most on Instagram in 2021
Social media has been a key way for fans to keep up to date with their favourite players during the past year of restrictions placed on professional football. While some teams have resumed play, stadiums look set to remain closed for many spectators.
Commenting on the findings, Duncan McKenzie from Aphrodite said: “Many footballers have gained immense followings across social media platforms in recent years, and it acts as a way of appealing to a new generation of fans, too.
What happens off the pitch is constantly shaping the nature of the game, and new stars can be born from social media rather than scoring actual goals”.
Note:
Information was gathered using Instagram analysis, and footballers chosen for the data sample were done so based on their follower count.
Instagram average post value is calculated based on a value per follower of £0.005 based on data from Inkifi.
When you take your business online, you mustn’t miss out on promoting it on the hottest social media platform- Instagram! Instagram has a prominent presence in the everyday world with over 500 million daily active users. Thus, from a business perspective, you make people aware of your business more on Instagram compared to other platforms. Brand awareness is the primary motive to use Instagram ads irrespective of the business being small or big. It is always beneficial if people are talking about your brand or coming across it. With the help of Instagram ads, you can increase your brand awareness.
Advertisers are more likely to deliver your business-oriented ads to people who will remember it and end up being your clients. Brand awareness is important to tap your audience. As the awareness for your brand increases, your business flourishes.
Widens the Reach
When you don’t use Instagram ads, your content reaches solely to your followers. If you are able to engage your followers with your content, only then it reaches a little more of the Instagram users. However, due to the fluctuating Instagram algorithm, it becomes extremely difficult to increase your reach on Instagram. When you opt for Instagram ads, it maximizes the size of your audience.
One must note that it is different from brand awareness. Brand awareness is to target your likely customers. However, reach to increase your business’ name and magnify your brand’s outreach to make more people interested in your business’ products/services.
As your reach widens, more people get to know about your product/service and benefit from it. Which, in turn, benefits you! Only with an increased reach can you generate a good amount of traffic to create a more substantial consumer base for your business.

It leads those potential clients to engage more with your business by checking out your page and liking, sharing, and commenting on your latest posts.
Lead Generation Objective
You can use Instagram advertisements with a lead generation objective. It creates a long-term plan between your business and existing or potential clients on Instagram. You can collect users’ email addresses, contact numbers along with their names to market your product/service in the future. In this way, you can be sure to never lose a customer.
Understandably, even your one-time clients can come back to make another purchase due to the longstanding contact.
Conversions
This motive of using an Instagram comes in the latter half of your business when you have a core audience and decent reach. With the help of Instagram ads, you can easily create conversions.
It means to direct your audience and other Instagram users towards the exciting range of your business and its products/services. To promote sales and your bestselling content from your business using Instagram ads. You can link app installations to your sponsored ads if you are looking for people to permanently secure a deal with you. Instagram advertisements primarily focus on encouraging Instagram users to be interested in your business. But this does not mean that if you stop creating valuable content, the ads are going to back you up. You must never lose the originality and individuality of your business. And with Instagram ads to help you flourish, it is only a matter of time before you see your business becoming a household name.
The long struggle of the Indian Gaming Community and game lovers are finally ready to deliver the fruit.
Indian Olympic Association [IOA] is ready to announce the Esports as an official Sport. IOA will also recognize the Esports Federation of India [ESFI] as the governing body of Esports in the country.
Recently, on February 4th, The Indian Minister of State For Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju, spoke about esports’ legitimacy within the country in the parliament. Jagdambika Pal, a Member of Lok Sabha asked some specific questions about the plans of the government regarding Esports. In response, Kiren Rijiju recognized that esports is an emerging platform for the country’s youth population and that there were a large number of esports enthusiasts in the country. He also said that it is totally different from gambling as well. He said, “Esports is different from gaming or igaming and gambling, etc. as former is skill-based while latters are chance-based.”
A few weeks back, a trend started on Twitter with a hashtag- ‘#recognizeesportsinindia’. The government assured them that they would look into this matter. Now they are seriously looking into this matter. After yesterday’s announcement from IOA, everyone can hope that it will just a matter of time. But there is still a long way to go.
In 2018, Indian Hearthstone player Tirth Mehta won the bronze medal. Hearthstone is a digital card-based game. If this all goes well, we will see more players in the various tournaments, making us proud. Already in PUBG Mobile, Counter-Strike, and recently in VALORANT, Indian players have made their mark on the global stage and made us proud. This will surely boost up the sleeping giant of Esports in coming days.
As a result of his arrest in September of 2020, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley was sentenced to 120 days in jail on Tuesday, after pleading guilty to a felony charge of threats of violence for pointing a rifle at a family outside his home.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced that Beasley can serve his stay in the workhouse after the conclusion of his NBA season, setting a tentative report date for May 26. COVID-19 precautions could require the county to release him on electronic home monitoring for the duration of his sentence.
Beasley also received three years probation, during which time he is not allowed to use alcohol or elicit drugs, and has been permanently banned from having firearms. He will also be required to enter an anger-management program.
A couple and their 13-year-old child — on a house-hunting tour in September — pulled up to the home where Beasley was living with his wife and then-18-month-old son and found the property roped off. Beasley approached their vehicle and pointed a rifle as he ordered them to leave. A police search of the house found 835 grams (1.8 pounds) of marijuana, a 12-gauge shotgun, a handgun, and an automatic rifle, which matched the description of the one he allegedly pointed at the family as they drove away.
Malik Beasley was sentenced to 120 days at county workhouse (with work release or home confinement options) that will be served at end of the NBA season, per @ShamsCharaniapic.twitter.com/hM6gtOpo9V
Beasley and his now-estranged wife Montana Yao were both facing fifth-degree drug possession charges from the September 2020 arrest, when police found marijuana at his home. According to ESPN, those charges were dropped as part of his plea deal.
“We are very pleased with this outcome that will allow Malik to continue working on becoming a better person and making better choices,” said agent Steve Haney, in a statement.
The 19th overall pick in the 2016 draft by Denver, Beasley averaged 20.7 points in 14 games for Minnesota after being acquired in a trade with the Nuggets in February of 2020. He is averaging career-highs across the board this season. Usage of poor judgment on the day that he was arrested will have him pay the price.
