WPL 2025: Gujarat Giants Women vs Mumbai Indians Women – Preview And Where To Watch The Match LIVE

Gujarat Giants Women (GJ-W) will face off against Mumbai Indians Women (MUM-W) in match 5 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday, February 18.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Mumbai Indians Women: Preview

Gujarat Giants will aim to end their home leg on a high with a win, but they face a tough challenge from Mumbai Indians, who are still searching for their first points after a narrow loss in their WPL 2025 opener against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday (February 18). The Giants have struggled against MI in previous seasons, with a 0-4 record, including a particularly painful loss in Delhi, where Harmanpreet Kaur led a stunning comeback as MI needed 72 runs from the last five overs.

In their first home game of the WPL, the Giants, led by new captain Ash Gardner, started strong by matching their highest total of 201 against the defending champions. However, a combination of fielding errors and dew allowed Royal Challengers Bangalore to complete the highest chase in tournament history, finishing with more than an over to spare. The following day, Priya Mishra played a key role in securing a comfortable victory against UP Warriorz, giving the Giants their first points.

Harleen Deol

Gardner has impressed with her all-around performance, scoring two fifties and taking two wickets in each match. Deandra Dottin, making her debut for the franchise, has also made an immediate impact. However, the team still faces issues with death-overs bowling. Despite the dew factor, their lack of penetration and discipline in the final overs cost them dearly, as RCB scored 113 runs off just 8.3 overs, and UPW’s tail managed to push their total past 140 after being at 101/7.

Mumbai Indians, still recovering from their last-ball loss to Delhi, would want to put that match behind them and focus on securing their first win of the season. Controversial run-out calls marred their performance, and their heavy reliance on international players, particularly Nat Sciver-Brunt (80*) and captain Harmanpreet (42), left them short on support from the rest of the team.

Four of the top six wicket-takers in WPL are from MI: Hayley Matthews (25 wickets), Ishaque (24), Amelia Kerr (24), and Sciver-Brunt (21).

Only four players have managed to score 300+ runs and take 20+ wickets in the WPL. Of these, three are from MI (Sciver-Brunt, Matthews, and Kerr) and one is from GG (Gardner).

MI will be looking for more consistent contributions and better game awareness from their experienced players. A poor decision in the final five balls of their innings, when Saika Ishaque should have rotated the strike instead of going for a risky shot, ultimately cost them a chance to finish with a higher total.

Harmanpreet Kaur

In their last meeting, MI pulled off a dramatic win, with Harmanpreet’s blistering 95 off 48 balls, securing their spot in the playoffs. This gave MI a 4-0 record over GG, but unlike the previous seasons, Gujarat Giants have made a stronger start in WPL 2025. In contrast to last year, when it took them five matches to win, they secured their first victory in their second match this season, comfortably beating UP Warriorz.

However, ineffective death bowling continues to be a concern, as RCB scored 79 runs off the last 4.3 overs, and UPW hit 26 off the final eight deliveries. With the bat, captain Ashleigh Gardner will be hoping for more contributions from the top order, as their top three managed only 22 runs between them against UPW.

Meanwhile, MI’s season began with a narrow loss to Delhi Capitals after some controversial run-out decisions. They could only manage 164, despite strong knocks from Sciver-Brunt (80*) and Harmanpreet (42), with four of their remaining top-seven batters failing to reach double figures. MI will be looking for more consistency as they face Gujarat Giants.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Mumbai Indians Women: Pitch Report

The black-soil pitches, along with short boundaries on most sides, have created a highly batter-friendly environment so far. As a result, captains have preferred to chase due to the heavy dew that falls later in the game.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Mumbai Indians Women: Team News and Predicted XI

Gujarat Giants Women – Team News

Gujarat Giants have maintained the same playing XI for both of their matches so far, following four debutants in their opener against RCB. However, Sayali Satghare has struggled, conceding 64 runs from six overs and taking just one wicket.

Meanwhile, D Hemalatha has managed only 4 and 0 in her two innings. GG will be hoping for improved performances from both players before it’s too late. They are expected to continue with the same XI for at least one more match, giving Satghare and Hemalatha another chance to regain form, especially with the possibility of a venue change approaching.

However, they will hope for a strong recovery from Saika Ishaque, their second-highest wicket-taker in the WPL, after a tough outing against RCB where she conceded 43 runs in three overs.

Despite the poor performance from most of their batters in the season opener, Mumbai have no immediate reason to change their preferred XI following a narrow defeat.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Mumbai Indians Women: Players To Watch Out For

Deandra Dottin (Gujarat Giants Women)

Deandra Dottin made her WPL debut this year and has already made an impact. She came in to bat in the 12th over in both matches, delivering quick-fire performances.

Deandra Dottin

She scored 25 off 13 balls while batting first against RCB, and then an unbeaten 33* off 18 balls in a challenging chase against UPW. GG will be hoping Dottin’s form continues and helps them overcome their MI jinx.

Nat Sciver-Brunt (Mumbai Indians Women)

Although Nat Sciver-Brunt didn’t post big numbers in the recent Ashes, she showcased her class in MI’s opening game. Batting at No.3, she scored 80 off 59 balls, including 13 fours, forming the foundation of MI’s total.

This score nearly matched her entire tally from last season’s WPL (172 runs in nine innings), and her strong performance will be a boost for MI, whose batting often relies heavily on Harmanpreet in the middle order.

WPL 2025: RCB Thrash Delhi Capitals with Mandhana’s Blazing Fifty and A Dominant Bowling Performance

The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), showcased their dominance in the Women’s Premier League 2025 as they effortlessly dismantled Delhi Capitals (DC) to claim an emphatic victory.

Despite being without key players from last year’s winning squad, RCB’s depth in talent was on full display, as a clinical bowling performance set up a comfortable chase. Mandhana’s fiery half-century and a stellar partnership with Danni Wyatt-Hodge propelled RCB to a commanding eight-wicket win, continuing the trend of the chasing side winning for the fourth consecutive match.

RCB’s Dominant Bowling Display Sets the Stage

Even without the invaluable trio of Sophie Molineux, Shreyanka Patil, and Asha Sobhana—who were instrumental in their victory over Delhi Capitals in the final of the previous season—RCB’s bowlers proved that their strength runs deeper than just a few names. Renuka Singh, Ekta Bisht, and Georgia Wareham combined to strangle the Delhi batting order, limiting them to a modest total of 141.

Renuka Singh

Renuka made her mark early on, removing the dangerous Shafali Verma with just the first ball of the match. Verma, who is known for her aggressive batting, was caught at mid-off for a golden duck, leaving Delhi in a precarious position from the outset. With Meg Lanning struggling for timing and Jemimah Rodrigues trying to steady the ship, it was clear that RCB’s bowlers were on top.

Jemimah Rodrigues’ Brave Effort Can’t Stop RCB

Rodrigues, who had been struggling early in her innings, was the mainstay of DC’s effort in the powerplay. Though she survived a review on zero and had difficulty finding her rhythm, Rodrigues quickly accelerated once the spinners came into play. She struck a glorious six over the covers off Ekta Bisht and continued to find boundaries, helping DC cross the 50-run mark in the powerplay for the second consecutive game.

Jemimah Rodrigues

However, once Georgia Wareham was introduced into the attack in the seventh over, DC’s fortunes began to turn. Rodrigues, who had been building some momentum, missed a reverse sweep and was stumped for 34 off 22 balls. This was the beginning of a dramatic collapse for the Capitals. Lanning followed soon after, miscuing a shot off Kim Garth and being caught by Ellyse Perry at deep-backward square leg.

DC’s Batting Collapse: From 60 for 1 to 87 for 5

The wickets continued to tumble as Annabel Sutherland’s attacking approach, which had shown some promise with a big six off Bisht, came to an end when she was caught at cover after misjudging a delivery from Renuka. With the scoreboard reading 60 for 1, Delhi appeared well-set, but by the time they reached 87 for 5, they had lost key players in quick succession.

Jess Jonassen, another experienced campaigner, didn’t last long either. She mis-hit a shot off Bisht and was dismissed cheaply for just one. DC had lost four wickets in just 27 runs, and their hopes of setting a competitive target had dwindled significantly. Marizanne Kapp and Sarah Bryce tried to resurrect the innings, but a miscommunication between the two resulted in an unintentional mix-up. Even though Kapp got a reprieve when Kanika Ahuja dropped a catch at short fine leg, the damage had been done.

With a lack of partnerships and wickets falling at regular intervals, DC limped to a total of 141. Bisht’s impressive spell of 3 for 25 and Renuka’s 3 for 23 ensured that RCB had a straightforward target ahead.

Mandhana and Wyatt-Hodge’s Stellar Opening Stand

Chasing a modest total of 142, RCB’s opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge wasted no time in asserting their dominance. The two were already familiar with each other’s style, having previously opened together for Southern Brave in the Hundred, and their partnership for RCB was equally as impressive.

Mandhana was in sublime form from the get-go, blasting a rapid half-century off just 27 balls. She punished any loose deliveries, especially the wayward lines from Marizanne Kapp in the opening over. Mandhana’s footwork and placement were impeccable, helping her dominate the DC bowlers. Wyatt-Hodge, equally effective, smashed six fours, showcasing her clean striking and timing.

Smriti Mandhana

RCB raced to 57 for 0 in the powerplay, with the required run rate barely above six. While DC’s bowlers tried to make inroads, Mandhana and Wyatt-Hodge’s relentless attack left them helpless. Both batters were able to find gaps in the field and dispatch anything short or wide to the boundary. Even a dropped catch by Jemimah Rodrigues off Wyatt-Hodge’s bat on 34 didn’t deter the RCB openers.

Mandhana’s Record-Breaking Innings Sets the Tone

Mandhana continued her assault, dispatching Kapp for a huge six over midwicket. Her aggressive strokes off Jonassen took RCB to the brink of victory. In just 14 balls, Mandhana amassed 27 runs off Jonassen, taking full advantage of the bowler’s lack of control.

Despite both openers falling towards the end, RCB was comfortably placed at 105 for 2 in the 14th over, needing just 36 more runs from 39 balls. The chase was all but sealed by then. Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh, both experienced campaigners, ensured there were no jitters in the final stages and guided RCB over the line in the 17th over.

RCB’s all-round performance in this match was a testament to their strength and resilience. Their bowlers restricted DC to a manageable total, and the openers took full advantage of the chase, making the target seem insignificant. Smriti Mandhana’s blistering half-century, coupled with Wyatt-Hodge’s solid support, ensured that RCB cruised to an eight-wicket victory.

With this win, RCB not only top the table but also continue their impressive streak of chasing victories in the WPL 2025. As for Delhi Capitals, they will need to regroup and rethink their strategies as they head into the upcoming games of the season.

WATCH Aashiqui 3 First Look: Kartik Aaryan, Sreeleela in Anurag Basu’s Romantic Love Story

The first look of Aashiqui 3, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, has finally been unveiled! Fans got their first glimpse of the romantic drama on February 15 (Saturday), and it promises to be a stirring love story. Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Basu, the film is scheduled for a grand Diwali release.

Watch Aashiqui 3 First Look Teaser Here

The teaser of Aashiqui 3 sets the mood for another emotional journey. Kartik Aaryan, donning a rugged look with a thick beard, is seen performing on stage with a guitar, reminiscent of the iconic opening scene from Aashiqui 2. The teaser also gives a glimpse of Kartik and Sreeleela romancing in breathtaking mountain landscapes and riding bikes together, hinting at a deep and passionate love story.

Adding to the emotions, the teaser features the soulful track, “Tu hi zindagi hai, tu hi Aashiqui hai,” beautifully rendered by Vishal Mishra. This song, combined with Anurag Basu’s signature storytelling, is sure to make Aashiqui 3 a treat for romance lovers.

Music Composed by Pritam

Music has always been the heart and soul of the Aashiqui franchise, and this time is no different. The film’s music is being composed by Pritam, a long-time collaborator of Anurag Basu. Pritam has a history of delivering chartbusters, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what he has in store for this film.

Talking about the film, Pritam shared:

“The Aashiqui franchise has always been about love and timeless music. I feel privileged to be working on this beautiful journey.”

Aashiqui 3 was initially supposed to be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt. Mukesh Bhatt, who produced the first two Aashiqui films, was originally involved in this installment as well. However, in March 2024, Bhushan Kumar announced that he would be producing the film alone.

There were talks about renaming the film Tu Aashiqui Hai, but reports suggest Kartik Aaryan was keen on keeping it as part of the Aashiqui franchise. In September 2024, Mukesh Bhatt took legal action over the title, leading to a ruling by the Delhi High Court in his favor. The court prohibited T-Series from using the name Aashiqui in the title.

According to an ABP report, the court order stated:

“There were discussions between the parties for a third installment of the Aashiqui franchise, which was also jointly announced to the public. Further, they highlight that the Defendant (T-Series) has already promoted a public narrative suggesting that their upcoming film is the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise.

This perception is further reinforced by the Defendant’s (T-Series) application to register the title ‘Tu Hi Aashiqui’. In these circumstances, the Plaintiff (Mukesh Bhatt) contends that confusion is inevitable and the Defendant (T-Series) should be restrained from using the term ‘Aashiqui’ in the title of its proposed film, as it risks misleading the public into believing that the new film is part of the Aashiqui franchise, thereby violating the Plaintiff’s rights in the Aashiqui brand.”

As of now, the term Aashiqui cannot be used in the title of the upcoming film, as per the court order. However, the makers are still allowed to use the songs from the previous two Aashiqui films since T-Series holds the rights to the music. According to sources from Hindustan Times, the filmmakers are trying to reach a compromise with the Bhatts to retain Aashiqui in the title, which has led to delays in the official title announcement.

Produced by T-Series

Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar are backing the project under the T-Series banner, ensuring that the film gets a grand scale and top-notch production quality. With a powerhouse team of filmmakers and musicians, the film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

About Aashiqui Franchise

The Aashiqui franchise has always been about love, heartbreak, and unforgettable music. The first film, Aashiqui, released in 1990, was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The film was a massive hit, thanks to its soul-stirring music composed by Nadeem-Shravan. Songs like “Dheere Dheere Se” and “Jaane Jigar Jaaneman” are still remembered fondly by fans.

Following the success of the original, Aashiqui 2 was released in 2013, directed by Mohit Suri. Featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, the film became a cult classic, especially for its heart-wrenching storyline and blockbuster music. The soundtrack, composed by Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon, and Ankit Tiwari, gave fans evergreen hits like “Tum Hi Ho” and “Sunn Raha Hai”.

Now, with the upcoming film, the franchise is all set to continue its legacy with a fresh story and a new musical touch.

Aashiqui 3 Release Date

The yet-untitled film is set to release in theatres on Diwali 2025, leaving T-Series with less than six months to finalize a title and begin promotions. Despite the legal hurdles, the film promises to be an emotional rollercoaster with intense romance, melodious music, and stunning visuals.

Ne Zha 2 Shatters Records: China’s Box Office Miracle Unveiled!

In a stunning display of box office dominance, the Chinese animated blockbuster “Ne Zha 2” has taken the global film industry by storm, rewriting record books and captivating audiences worldwide. As the sequel to the 2019 hit, this fantasy epic has not only surpassed its predecessor but is now poised to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Let’s dive into the phenomenal success of “Ne Zha 2” and explore why it’s become the talk of the entertainment world.

A Box Office Behemoth: Breaking Down the Numbers

The numbers behind “Ne Zha 2” are nothing short of staggering. As of February 17, 2025, the film has amassed an incredible $1.64 billion at the Chinese box office alone. This monumental achievement comes just 19 days after its release, showcasing the film’s unprecedented popularity and staying power.

Key Milestones:

  • Surpassed $1.6 billion mark in China
  • Set to overtake “The Lion King” in global all-time rankings
  • Poised to become the highest-grossing animated film globally, surpassing “Inside Out 2” ($1.69 billion)

The film’s success isn’t limited to its home market. In North America, “Ne Zha 2” debuted with an impressive $7.2 million opening on 660 screens, securing the fifth spot at the domestic box office. This performance is particularly noteworthy given the limited release and competition from major Hollywood blockbusters.

IMAX Dominance: A New Record Holder

“Ne Zha 2” hasn’t just broken records; it’s shattered them, particularly in the IMAX format. The film has now become the highest-grossing IMAX release in China of all time, surpassing “Avengers: Endgame” with a staggering $104 million in IMAX earnings. This achievement underscores the film’s visual spectacle and the audience’s preference for premium viewing experiences.

IMAX Highlights:

  • $22 million IMAX weekend haul (21% increase from the previous weekend)
  • Third-highest third-weekend global performance for a single IMAX title
  • Part of a record-breaking Lunar New Year slate for IMAX in China

The Secret Behind the Success

Afghanistan Team Preview for Champions Trophy 2025: Giant-Slayers Afghanistan are Serious Contenders for Semi-Finals

0

As the Champions Trophy 2025 draws nearer, Afghanistan’s name stands out as one of the most exciting and formidable teams in the competition. After a remarkable run in the 2023 ODI World Cup and an even more historic journey to the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup, Afghanistan have emerged as one of the dark horses in global cricket.

Hashmatullah Shahidi

Their victory over Australia and New Zealand in the T20 World Cup and their impressive record in bilateral ODIs demonstrate that they are not just participants, but serious contenders for the semi-finals of the upcoming tournament.

Recent Form: A Team on the Rise

Afghanistan has proven to be giant-slaying specialists, having stunned some of the cricketing giants in recent years. At the 2023 ODI World Cup, the team notably triumphed over the likes of Pakistan and England, confirming their potential as one of the most dangerous teams in international cricket. Their historic performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup only enhanced their reputation, as they reached the semi-finals by defeating Australia and New Zealand—two of the most formidable sides in the format.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Looking ahead to the Champions Trophy, Afghanistan’s recent form in bilateral ODIs is nothing short of impressive. Since the 2023 World Cup, they have won four out of their five bilateral series, including a 2-1 triumph against South Africa, a top-five ranked ICC ODI team. This win, their first ever over a top-five ranked team, further cements their status as one of the teams to watch.

Key Strengths: Spin Power and Familiar Grounds

One of Afghanistan’s biggest advantages heading into the Champions Trophy is the familiarity of the playing conditions. The team will play all three of their group matches in Pakistan (Karachi and Lahore), where conditions are expected to favor spin bowlers. This plays perfectly into Afghanistan’s strengths, as the squad boasts a stellar lineup of slow bowlers.

Noor Ahmed

Despite the injury to mystery spinner AM Ghazanfar, Afghanistan still has a potent spin attack. Rashid Khan, one of the best leg-spinners in the world, will lead the attack alongside the experienced Mohammad Nabi. Supporting them will be the youthful left-arm duo of Noor Ahmad and Nangeyalia Kharote, who bring added variety and depth to the spin department. This rich variety of slow bowlers gives Afghanistan a balanced attack that can exploit the conditions to their advantage.

Weaknesses: The Middle Order

While Afghanistan’s bowling attack is a major strength, their batting, particularly in the middle order, has been a weak point. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, their Nos. 4-7 were the least productive group in terms of runs, scoring just 849 runs from 1001 balls at a strike rate of around 85. This problem continued during the 2024 T20 World Cup, where their Nos. 3-7 accumulated just 360 runs at an average of 12.

This brittle middle order places pressure on the opening pair of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, who have been Afghanistan’s best batters in the last three years. Their ability to get the team off to a strong start will be crucial, but the middle-order struggle could be a potential downfall if the openers fail.

First-Round Fixtures: Challenging Opponents Await

Afghanistan’s journey in the 2025 Champions Trophy will begin with a series of tough encounters in the group stage:

  • Feb 21 – Afghanistan vs South Africa, Karachi
  • Feb 26 – Afghanistan vs England, Lahore
  • Feb 28 – Afghanistan vs Australia, Lahore

These three matches will be a true test of Afghanistan’s capabilities, as they face off against some of the most established teams in world cricket. How they perform against these giants will likely determine their fate in the tournament.

Rashid Khan

Afghanistan’s Best XI: The Key Players

Afghanistan’s potential in the Champions Trophy hinges on the performances of several key players. The team is likely to field:

  1. Ibrahim Zadran
  2. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk)
  3. Rahmat Shah
  4. Hashmatullah Shahidi (capt)
  5. Azmatullah Omarzai
  6. Gulbadin Naib
  7. Mohammad Nabi
  8. Rashid Khan
  9. Noor Ahmad / Nangeyalia Kharote
  10. Naveed Zadran
  11. Fazalhaq Farooqi

In addition, players like Sediqullah Atal, Ikram Alikhil, and Fareed Ahmad will be ready to step in, adding depth to the squad.

Players to Watch: The Veteran and The Aggressive Finisher

Mohammad Nabi, at 40, is the oldest player in the tournament. Having been a stalwart for Afghanistan cricket since 2009, Nabi is one of the most experienced and influential players in their history. He is set to retire from ODIs after the Champions Trophy, making this tournament a swan song for the veteran. With his all-round abilities and leadership experience, Nabi could play a vital role in Afghanistan’s campaign, and a strong performance could see him sign off on a high.

Mohammad Nabi

Another player to keep an eye on is Gulbadin Naib, the 33-year-old allrounder, who has been a fixture in Afghan cricket since 2008. Naib’s recent form in the ILT20, where he played a pivotal role in Dubai Capitals’ triumph, further bolsters his reputation. Known for his aggressive batting, Naib’s ability to finish games could be a game-changer for Afghanistan in the Champions Trophy.

Afghanistan’s Semi-Final Hopes

Afghanistan’s rise in world cricket over the last few years has been nothing short of remarkable. With a balanced team, a potent spin attack, and some key players in top form, they are poised to make a deep run in the 2025 Champions Trophy. While their middle-order concerns remain a significant issue, their ability to upset higher-ranked teams and their recent form suggest that they are serious contenders for a semi-final spot. With the right combination of luck and skill, Afghanistan could well go the distance in this prestigious tournament.

TCS Salary Hike 2025: In a move that’s stirring up the IT sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is gearing up to roll out its annual salary hikes for the fiscal year 2025. As India’s largest IT services provider, TCS’s compensation decisions ripple through the industry, affecting over 600,000 employees and setting benchmarks for competitors. Let’s dive into what TCS employees can anticipate and how it reflects broader trends in the tech world.

Key Takeaways:

  • TCS to implement salary hikes of 4-8% in March 2025
  • Payouts to begin from April 2025
  • Hike percentages lower compared to previous years
  • Return-to-office compliance linked to salary increments

Breaking Down the TCS Salary Hike 2025

The Numbers Game

According to inside sources, TCS employees can expect salary increments ranging from 4% to 8% for the fiscal year 2025-26. While this might not sound like headline-grabbing news, it’s crucial to understand the context:

  1. Gradual Decline: This range is slightly lower than the average hikes of 7-9% in FY24 and 10.5% in FY22.
  2. Industry Trend: The $254 billion Indian IT industry has seen a shift from double-digit increments during the COVID-19 period to single-digit increases in recent years.

Timing is Everything

Mark your calendars, TCS employees! Here’s the timeline you need to know:

  • Hike Letters: Expected to be issued in March 2025
  • New Salaries: Will take effect from April 2025

Factors Influencing the TCS Salary Hike

1. Return-to-Office Compliance

In a bold move, TCS has linked salary hikes and variable pay to employees’ adherence to its recent return-to-office mandate announced in early 2024. This strategy underscores the company’s emphasis on in-office work and could significantly impact individual increment percentages.

2. Business Performance

Not all departments are created equal when it comes to salary hikes. Employees in business verticals that have performed well are likely to receive higher increments. This performance-based approach aims to reward and incentivize top-performing teams.

3. Global Economic Landscape

The tech industry isn’t immune to global economic fluctuations. The slower growth of the IT sector and worldwide economic concerns have led to more conservative salary increment policies across major firms.

Variable Pay: A Mixed Bag

The salary hikes come on the heels of the quarterly variable pay (QVP) released in February for the October-December period. Here’s how it played out:

  • Junior and Mid-level Employees: Many received 100% of their variable pay
  • Senior Employees: Payouts ranged from 20-40%

Approximately 70% of TCS staff, primarily those in the C3 level and below, received their full variable pay. This suggests a positive outlook for junior and mid-level employees.

Employee Perspectives

While TCS moves forward with its increment plans, some employees have expressed concerns:

  • Long-term Trends: Some staff members have noted a decline in hike percentages over the past three to five years.
  • Leadership Changes: There’s a perception among some employees that hikes have been on a downward trend since the departure of former CEO N Chandrasekaran.

Industry Context: How Does TCS Compare?

TCS’s approach to salary hikes reflects broader trends in the Indian IT sector:

  1. Market Position: With a market cap of Rs 14.11 lakh crore as of February 1, 2025, TCS remains a dominant player in the industry.
  2. Competitor Moves: Other major players like Infosys are also implementing similar increment ranges, with Infosys expected to offer hikes between 5-8%.

Looking Ahead to TCS Salary Hike 2025: What This Means for TCS Employees

As TCS employees await their increment letters, it’s clear that the company is balancing multiple factors in its compensation strategy. While the increments may not reach the heights of previous years, they represent a continued commitment to rewarding performance in a challenging global economic landscape.

For TCS staff, this salary hike cycle offers an opportunity to:

  1. Reflect on individual and team performance
  2. Align with the company’s return-to-office policies
  3. Consider long-term career growth within the evolving IT landscape

As the tech industry continues to evolve, employees and industry watchers alike will be keen to see how compensation strategies adapt to changing market conditions and workforce expectations.

Stay tuned for more updates on the TCS salary hike 2025 and its impact on the broader IT sector!
