Mumbai, 8th April, 2021: Viacom18, India’s fastest growing media and entertainment network, today announces the appointment Chanpreet Arora as Business Head – AVOD (Voot), and of Vineet Govil as Chief Technology Officer at Viacom18 Digital Ventures. In her new role Chanpreet Arora will drive the AVOD business – VOOT and will be responsible for leading AVOD led partnerships that are key to VOOT’s overall growth. Chanpreet has close to 2 decades of experience across strategy, revenue, partnerships and sales operations with media and digital brands. She was also associated with The New York Times, Times Internet Limited, Buddh International Circuit – Formula One, India, and Ernst & Young in her previous roles.

Prior to joining Viacom18 Digital Ventures, Vineet was heading Sling Media Pvt Ltd’s (a subsidiary of DISH Network Inc, USA) India Development Centre as Vice President. With over 26 years of experience in product and technology development across domains, Vineet’s career spans across areas of Embedded Software, Multimedia Streaming (OTT), IoT and Wireless Telecom, Cloud and more. He was also a part of Sasken Technologies Ltd and ISRO Ahmedabad.

Dell G15: a more affordable AMD Ryzen 5000H powered laptop for gamers

In the latest news, Dell announced its new affordable 15-inch Dell G15 Ryzen Edition gaming laptop. The new AMD’s Ryzen 5000 H-series processors when combined with the awesome Nvidia RTX 30 series graphics cards are easily overkilling. The soon-to-be-launched G15 will be sold at a starting price of $899.99 for its entry-level configuration.

According to sources, the new Ryzen powered G15 will be first launched in China on April 30th, and on May 4th, it will hit global markets. Get ready boys, the force will be unleashed on May the 4th.

Coming to the configurations of the G15 Ryzen Edition, it will be shipping with 8GB of 3,200MHz DDR4 RAM, and 256GB of NVMe M.2 capacity. It will be powered by the Ryzen 5 5600H Hexa-core processor and an Nvidia RTX 3060 with 6GB of VRAM.

For those who want a little more heavy punch, you also have options with up to the Ryzen 7 5800H octa-core CPU, RAM can be added (either through Dell or by opening the laptop yourself), and the storage can be taken as high as up to 2TB of solid-state storage. The more powerful processor can also come with a bigger six-cell 86Wh battery, but for the $900 mark, you will get only a three-cell 56Wh battery.

For the display, the Dell G15 can be configured with a 120Hz refresh rate FHD panel at the standard 250 nits of brightness, or a brighter 300-nit screen with a faster 165Hz refresh rate. But, those targeting the 360Hz refresh rate screen, will have to wait until spring.

Dell says that the new G15 has adopted an “Alienware-inspired” thermal design to keep it running efficiently, and it certainly looks the part. Let’s wait for the beast to be unleashed.

Last year due to Pandemic Google had to cancel the annual Google I/O Event 2020 at the very last moment. After understanding, the seriousness of the worldwide Pandemic Google had to cancel the Online Event Broadcast as it needs the involvements of some employees and keeping in mind the safety of everyone the company also called off their online event of Google I/O 2020. this resulted in no Google I/O event for the whole year.

This year as the Pandemic is a bit under control, Google has decided to conduct the Google I/O Event 2021 from March 18 to 20, as a live broadcast event like all other companies. The second wave of COVID-19 has also hit several parts of the world. Now it is a matter of a month, so we have to wait for the event to start if everything goes according to plan.

The event page of the Google I/O Event 2021 says

Real Madrid have recently won the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie against Liverpool by 3-1 without Ramos, Varane, Carvajal and Hazard among notable names. Zidane trusted in Vinicius and it paid off as the Brazilian scored two goals to give Real Madrid a two-goal cushion heading into the second leg. Toni Kroos dictated the midfield and was superb with his passing ranges.

The German midfielder admitted that Real Madrid’s game plan was to attack Liverpool’s young defence and exploit the injury issues in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

He further revealed that their tactic was to press high and win the ball back off the defence by forcing mistakes in order to stop the forward players from being able to get the ball early. He also added that Real Madrid wanted to play passes forward and keep hold of possession to attack Liverpool.

Speaking to Sony Sports, as transcribed by the Liverpool Echo, Toni Kroos outlined Real’s tactics for the match. “A lot of things went well in the first half. I think we came out very motivated and even concentrated in our game plan and it went well, we tried to attack them very early because we knew that they also have to change some players because they have some injured players at the back. So, maybe we thought that’s going to be a good chance to win the ball very early and it went well.

“And of course when we have the ball, our idea was to keep the ball, keep the possession and play forward. And I think all of this went well especially when we lost the ball, we got the back ball very fast, I think this was one key for this great first half.

“Yeah, I mean it’s normal, I think that you try to figure out of the rival you know where some points where you can attack them. But it’s not only the point because they had to change some defenders but also that they come not too easily to their front because of all of us now what quality they have and you know in the front so one idea of course was to attack the defenders so that they cannot go easily to the front where they have most of their qualities.”

Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 leaked images reveal a 120 Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 855+ SoC

Samsung is going to unveil Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 later this month but ahead of its launch, the images of the smartphone with some specifications are leaked online. Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 is the successor of Galaxy Quantum which was launched in 2020. According to the leaks found, the design of Quantum2 will be different from the earlier smartphone. It might look much more similar to the handsets launched by Samsung recently.

The reports say that the Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 will be flaunting a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display and have a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ mobile processor. It can couples up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. To expand the storage, you might see an external microSD slot.

The Galaxy Quantum2 will be sold by SK Telecom. They also had the duty to sell the previous version of this series. In the images leaked, we can spot a selfie camera at the center of the device and has moderately sized bezels. Also, it will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear cameras are placed in a rectangle-shaped module and have three camera sensor along with an LED flash.

The main rear camera is touted to be a 64 MP sensor with optical image stabilization. The other features of the camera are still not known. The device is said to draw energy from a 4500mAh battery and will be paired with a 25W fast charging support. Another source claims that Samsung will offer a 15W charger. It might be available in Black and White colour models only.

You will be eligible to get complimentary gifts if you pre-order the Galaxy Quantum2. The gifts include a free pair of Galaxy Buds Live and a clear TPU case. Not everything is known about this smartphone but we will get the information very soon as the launch is supposed to be on 23rd April 2021.

Nethra Kumanan, an Indian woman sailor qualify for Tokyo Olympics

Nethra Kumaran becomes the first Indian sailor to qualify for the Olympics on Wednesday. She qualified for the Tokyo Olympic finishing at the top in the laser radial event of the Asian Qualifiers in Oman.

The 23 years old Kumanan has a 21-point advantage over 2nd place Ramya Saravanan. Ramya Saravan is also an Indian. However, Kumaran sealed her place in the Olympics with a round in hand.

 Asian Sailing Federation President Malav Shroff told PTI said, “Yes, Kumanan has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics with one race to go on the final day on Thursday.”

“The final race is a 20 pointer but the point gap with her nearest Asian rival, also an Indian, is more than 20.”- she added.

Nethra’s coach Tamas Eszes is also delighted with Nethra’s performance. The Hungarian said, “Nethra qualified for the Olympics today, with a big lead in points; however the event is going to finish officially tomorrow, after the last race called Medal Race.”

However, the final day of the competition is still left. Dutchwoman Emma Charlotte Jeanne Savelon are currently in second spot with a 3 points difference. Though the final result will not effect the Nethra’s place in Olympic as Emma is nowhere in the scene for Olympics qualification from this event as this is an Asian Qualifier.

“The result of Medal Race will not change the fact that she managed to get one of the (Olympic quota) spot (out of 2).”- Nethra’s coach added.

Is Sadio Mane holding Liverpool back?

Sadio Mane is now a shadow of his former self, with the Liverpool winger being an invisible man in their loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Senegalese forward failed to register a single shot, didn’t win any defensive tackles despite his involvement tracking back, and also failed to create any chances for the Merseysiders in their loss against the Spanish club. 

Mane began the season well, scoring four goals in four appearances but things then took a turn for the worse, and the winger has only managed to score thrice in his 23 league games since then. His ability to create chances also seems to have evaporated, with the player only assisting six goals across all competitions this season. 

One of the main reasons behind this drop in form could be fatigue. In comparison, Diogo Jota has been firing on all fronts and is arguably the most prolific attacker for the Reds. The Portuguese looks fast and energetic, and that is something that Mane clearly seems to be lacking right now. 

Lingering after effects from contracting COVID could also be another explanation for his physical struggles. There has been no indication that Liverpool will want to do away with the 28-year-old due to his recent struggles, and clubs like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who were previously interested in the player, will now surely steer clear of any links. 

While it could be a dry spell, it has been going on for a little too long considering Mane is one of the best attackers in Europe, and Liverpool truly need their number 10 back in full form if they are to turn things around in the second leg against Real Madrid and also finish in the top four in the Premier League.

Google accidentally displays upcoming ‘Pixel Buds A’

It seems like the email sent by Google revealed an interesting image of the upcoming brand earbuds. We are talking about an email push to Google Nest owners’ accounts that revealed a small image of the Pixel Buds A in it. The image can be seen below. In that image, we can see the earbud is displayed in dark green colour and it also resembles the earbuds that were first spotted by 9to5Google. In the email push, we can see that earbuds are categorized under Accessories.

The Pixel Buds A was also spotted on the FCC website with model numbers GPQY2 and G7YPJ. These two models’ numbers might be resembling the left and right earbuds of the same Pixel Buds A. The dimensions mentioned in the listing show some similarities with the previous generation Google Pixel Buds. This earbud seems to have an elongated case design and the buds can be seen with a total dark green color on them.

The previous generation Google Pixel Buds showed some frequent dysconnectivity issues and this might be fixed in the upcoming Pixel Buds. The cover seems to be totally white while the inner colour of the case matches the colour of the earbuds. There seems to have a LED indicator in green colour on the case to indicate the charge of the whole case along with the buds.
