FIFA President praises African “team spirit”

0

RABAT, Morocco, March 12, 2021/ — FIFA President Gianni Infantino has stressed the importance of “team spirit” to project African football to the top of the world in his address to the 43rd CAF Ordinary and Elective General Assembly that took place today in Rabat.

“We know the values of football, but the most important value is team spirit. This is the team spirit that we have witnessed these days in Africa”.

Referring to the future of African football, the FIFA President said: “I have already said it, and I say it again. We must stop saying that it is necessary to develop African football. It is about projecting it to the summit of world football.

“The time for talking has stopped. We must move on, and we must move on as a team: as a CAF team and a FIFA team that also includes all the confederations and associations from all over the world. You are CAF. You are FIFA.”

In relation to Patrice Motsepe, who was today elected as the new CAF President, the FIFA President commented: “I want to wish all the very best for the next four years, to the new leading team of CAF, of African football, and to Patrice Motsepe, to all those who have been involved, to Augustin, Ahmed, Jacques and everyone. I want to assure you that FIFA is not at your side. FIFA is together with you.”

AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU powered machines rumoured to be coupled with Radeon RX 6600M GPU

As the OEMs have already started presenting their custom AMD 6700 graphics cards and also that the company’s Ryzen 5000 series is an absolute beast, we expect more laptop makers to adopt the company’s chips into their machines. But our hopes have been severely crushed because AMD is suffering from supply constraint, as it has become a global crisis for the chip industry.

According to recent sources, a well-known data-miner, APISAK, has recently shared the information about the new Dell G5 15 SE Gaming notebook, which was announced to get a refresh this year. The laptop is reportedly being powered by the Ryzen 5000 series processor and AMD’s Radeon RX 6600M GPU, which is a member of the mobile range of SKUs from the Radeon RX 6000 series.

The Radeon RX 6600M will be based on RDNA 2 microarchitecture and will be targeted at those who want a midrange GPU in their laptop. It includes 28 compute units (1,792 cores) and a range of TDPs from 50 W to 100 W. reports indicate that the processor used in the machine is the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U.

This is not the first time we hear about the AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 5650U, as the processor has also been revealed to be a part of the HP EliteBook 845 G8 laptop and the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 notebook. But, both the machines left graphics processing to the APU’s integrated GPU.

So, if Dell offers Ryzen 5000 processor and a gaming-handy RX 6600M in its machine, then the laptop will surely be welcomed by gamers with open arms.

Intel working on its 56-core Sapphire Rapids Xeon APU to crush AMD’s Zen 4

Intel and AMD have been at each other’s throats for a while now, with team red currently leading in the multi-core segment. However, intel’s upcoming Rocket Lake is expected to get AMD’s best in single-core performance. As to whether the Rocket Lake provides worth remains to be seen.

In recent news, a YouTube channel called Moore’s Law Is Dead posted an intriguing rumour, suggesting that Intel has a mega APU in the works to try to “leapfrog” AMD. It states that team blue is done catching up to its competitor and secretly developing its weapon to surpass its rival.

However, if one is to assume how intel might accomplish this, we can state that it could release a Sapphire Rapids Xeon APU. Being an APU would mean that the chip would also possess an iGPU, and it seems there would be some room for a Samsung HBME2 Flashbolt memory solution.

According to the YouTube channel, a skunkworks project inside Intel involves a team working on such an APU for the Sapphire Rapids series, which is expected to make an appearance in 2022 or 2023. The SKUs have up to 56-core and involve a four-chipset design.

Integrating Intel’s Xe iGPU in such a mega APU would likely offer up to the dGPU-level performance. The channel also points out that AMD should be worried about such a project, especially as Intel has an engineer as CEO (Pat Gelsinger).

But because AMD’s new Zen-4 architecture is the beast in all sense, you have to accept the fact that AMD will not be easily taken down. On the server-side, Zen 3 EPYC Milan has been dominating, and Zen 4 EPYC Genoa is already shaping up to be devastating with a 96-core monster in its ranks and the presence of PCIe gen 5/DDR5 support.

It’s possible that with the release of Intel’s new surprise APU, we might see a mega battle ahead of us.

Intel’s Raptor Lake to be its last 10nm SuperFin offering

Many speculations are going around the internet about the intel’s so-called Raptor Lake line-up. Though currently, the team blue seems to be busy with its Rocket Lake CPUs’ launching, sources indicate that intel will soon launch the 10nm CPU line-up, dubbed the Raptor Lake, before moving on to the 7nm process nodes.

According to sources, Intel’s 2020-2022 Desktop & Mobile CPU families roadmap includes Raptor Lake as the 2022 Core lineup. The line-up has officially confirmed that Intel’s Raptor Lake lineup will be the last 10nm SuperFin offering before Intel goes sub-10nm for desktop and mobile platforms.

Reports indicate that Intel Raptor Lake will be replacing Alder Lake, but Alder Lake is the 12th Gen’ CPUs and will be the first Intel CPUs to utilize a hybrid core design approach while being based on the 10nm Enhanced SuperFin process. They will also support DDR5 and PCIe 5.0.

It is indicated that Raptor Lake will carry most of these features from Alder Lake with slight upgrades to the platform and core changes. According to sources, the Raptor Lake lineup will get new hybrid CPU core changes for improved core performance. Since Alder Lake maxes out at 16 cores and 24 threads, it is expected that Raptor Lake would reuse these cores.

The Raptor Lake CPUs for the desktop will also utilize DDR5-4800 and will feature up to 48 PCIe Gen 5 lanes, mobility variants will get support for new LPDDR5X memory and also get a new DLVR power delivery system.

Until now, Intel has officially confirmed Rocket Lake, Alder Lake, and Lunar Lake but has yet to mention anything about Raptor Lake and Meteor Lake. So there is still a chance of the Raptor Lake getting canned. But, we will not see a 7nm CPU launch from Intel until 2023.

Apple’s Mac Pro is considered one of the best high-end PCs available in the market and easily triumphs over many. The Cupertino giant offers buyers configure its machine with up to 24-core Intel Xeon-W CPU and an AMD Radeon Vega GPU.

But according to the latest sources, the upcoming Mac Pro will come with a custom Apple CPU. The machine will start hitting the market in 2022. The tip comes from apple insider and suggests that the new Mac Pro will feature Apple’s custom CPU and GPU.

We already know that Apple is working on their custom CPU and GPU for some time now, so it would be nice to finally see the new options finally hitting the market, considering how successful Apple has been M1 chip.

So going by the tip, we know that the highest-end model will have a 64-core chip with 48 performance cores, 512GB RAM, and 128 GPU cores. It will have an insane price of $18,999. A first custom variant of CMP 30HX makes its appearance

We were all waiting for the new CMP (Crypto Mining Processor) GPUs from Nvidia, and it seems that the custom cooling designs from AIBs for the GPUs have started showing up. We first looked at the CMP 30HX from Gigabyte, which features the mining configured GPU and custom dual-fan cooling. It’s supposed to deliver optimized thermals when running it on a mining farm.

However, the CMP 30HX is the most entry-level CMP GPU that uses the Turing GPU core. It makes use of the TU116-100-A1 GPU core, which is expected to feature 1408 CUDA cores and 6 GB GDDR6 memory running across a 192-bit bus interface. It also includes a 125W TDP and a PCB number of PG161 SKU 90.

Coming to the custom Gigabyte CMP 30HX variant, it has a custom-designed PCB and there’s no backplate on the card but the cooler itself is dual-slot in design and carries over the Windforce 2X cooling solution.

The heatsink is made up of several aluminium fins and has massive copper heat pipes to dissipate heat. It is powered by a single 8-pin connector and has a large CMP logo which confirms that this card is made for cryptocurrency mining.

Since the card lacks display outputs, nothing can be done with it once the mining is over. The card cannot be used in the gaming market and cannot be used for other purposes as a standard display adapter.

The NVIDIA CMP 30HX will launch this month and will deliver up to 26 MH/s in Ethereum. It should cost somewhere within the $200-$300 US pricing range.
