DRAM prices to continue to increase in Q2 2021

0

In the middle of a global chip shortage, we already know the CPU and GPU prices are increasing as well as the availability is also poor. On the other hand, the DRAM supply has already fallen short of demand with the chip shortages worsening.

So, this is why the DRAM contract prices are expected to continue rising in the second quarter of 2021, according to Nanya Technology. It has reported a sequential and year-on-year increase in February revenue. So, we could end up seeing DRAM prices go up in 2021 but eventually decrease at the end of the year.

It will be interesting to see DDR5 RAMs to make its way into the market which can eventually help decrease the price increase for the widely DDR4 RAMs, but not anytime soon.

Professional boxing to get a pro touch for the first time with ‘India Unleashed-Fight Night’

0

New Delhi, March 5: LZ Promotion is all set to bring the might of professional boxing to India with their ‘India Unleashed ’ May 1 fight night in Jalandhar. Professional boxing, which has won hearts all over the world, is yet to see light in India. With a mind-set of improving the lives of Indian boxers, Parm Goraya, has a vision of making it big with the planned fight nights.

‘India Unleashed’, an event sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Commission (IBC), Goraya wants to rope in changes with USA styled boxing format and help ring in the changes for professional boxing in India.

Goraya – a second generation British Indian — is a registered promoter with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). With strong connects in World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF), Goraya knows what it takes to make a finished boxer, grooming them right from grassroots.

“Definitely there is huge potential for pro boxing in India. It just needs a structured ecosystem and an approach that has the quality to be called fight nights. The ‘India Unleashed’ fight night is our effort and a step in the right direction to make pro-boxing a hit. I’m sure ‘India Unleashed’ will set a benchmark and contribute to the development of boxers in the country. My plan is to bring in more such fights and initiate a professional Indian circuit which guarantees quality fights,” Goraya, CEO of LZ Promotions, said during the formal launch press conference on Friday.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Dalip Singh, also popularly known as “The Great Khali”, has extended his support to Goraya and his efforts to streamline the professional boxing scene in India. The first of the fight nights will be held at Khali’s Academy in Jalandhar.

The ‘India Unleashed’ fight night will comprise of 10 fight cards that will include top-20 talents scouted and picked through the country. The star attractions for the night are going to be Pawan Goyat, Chandni Mehra (featherweight) and Suman Kumari (lightweight). Amidst the three, Goyat will be gunning for a title shot.

The UK Govt. launches an Anti-Competitive Behavior Investigation against Apple

Apple cannot seem to catch a break as it enters into a new conflict, this time with the UK government. The government has announced that the Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) will respond to complaints that the App Store might be breaking competition law by launching an investigation into “anti-competitive behavior.”

Apple Finds Itself Butting Heads with the UK Government

While this is not the first time Apple finds itself involved in such an issue, this surely serves as the most notable in the larger context of several issues that the European Union has had with the American company, which will bring a larger campaign against the App Store by Epic Games, developer of Fortnite.

“The CMA’s investigation will consider whether Apple has a dominant position in connection with the distribution of apps on Apple devices in the UK – and, if so, whether Apple imposes unfair or anti-competitive terms on developers using the App Store, ultimately resulting in users having less choice or paying higher prices for apps and add-ons.”

Apple UK Limited, Apple Europe Limited, and Apple Inc, the parent U.S. company will all be present in the mix as the investigation will look at Apple as a corporate entity as it relates to the UK.

While the name of the developer has not been cited explicitly, it is safe to say that the largest reason behind this happens to be Epic Games. We are also already aware of Apple’s beef with Spotify, where the Swedish company claimed that Apple enforces App Store rules that “purposely limit choice and stifle innovation at the expense of the user experience.” So that makes two of the more prominent companies having an issue with the App Store. The official statement by Chief Executive Andrea Coscelli says,

“Millions of us use apps every day to check the weather, play a game or order a takeaway. So, complaints that Apple is using its market position to set terms which are unfair or may restrict competition and choice – potentially causing customers to lose out when buying and using apps – warrant careful scrutiny”

Coscelli continues,

“Our ongoing examination into digital markets has already uncovered some worrying trends. We know that businesses, as well as consumers, may suffer real harm if anti-competitive practices by big tech go unchecked. That’s why we’re pressing on with setting up the new Digital Markets Unit and launching new investigations wherever we have grounds to do so.”

More into the entire statement can be found here. Epic Games’ fight with the Cupertino giant is going to court later this year and with the announcement by the CMA, we only see a possibility that the company might be answerable in more than just one country.

“The European Commission (EC) currently has four open antitrust probes into Apple, which were launched prior to the end of the UK’s Transition Period. These include three open investigations into Apple’s App Store. The CMA continues to coordinate closely with the EC, as well as other agencies, to tackle these global concerns.”

Rishabh Pant’s century put India in advantage against England

If you work hard, it will always reward you with success.

Rishabh Pant is currently getting the reward back of his hard work. A few months back he often criticized for his poor performance. But he got back his form again in Australia series. His knocks against Australia in Sydney and Brisbane helped India to lift the Border-Gavaskar trophy by making history.

However, the young wicket-keeper is continuing his form against England as well. He made his maiden century in India today against England.

At the stumps of day 2, India is now 294 for 7. India is leading by 89 runs in the first Innings.

India started the day on 24 for 1. England bos1sed the first session as James Anderson and other bowlers were testing the Indian batsmen pretty much. Virat Kohli was gone for a duck. Cheteswar Pujara [17] and Ajinkya Rahane [27] were also gone in a low score.

Rishabh Pant [101] and Washington Sundar [60] put up an excellent performance today to put India in an advantageous position.

After today’s display, Pant said, “The plan was just to build a partnership when I joined Rohit, that was the only thing on my mind. I was thinking I would assess the pitch and then play my shots. If the bowlers are bowling well respect it and take the singles, and that was on my mind. The team plan was to get to 206, past the England total, and then get as many runs as possible after that. You have to premeditate reverse-flicks, but if luck is going your way you can take the odd chance. I get the license most of the time, but I have to assess the situation and take the game head-on. I like to make the team win and if the crowd is entertained by that, I’m happy.

Four Spanish clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid owe millions back in tax returns

0

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao are the four Spanish clubs who owe millions in the form of tax returns, according to a recent finding through the European Court of Justice. The four Spanish clubs were subjected to a 25% tax return over the last two decades while the rest of the footballing world was subjected to 30%.

According to the court, the tax scheme currently in place is “liable to favour clubs operating as non-profit entities over clubs operating in the form of public limited sports companies”.

While clubs all over the world are struggling financially, those of Barcelona and Real Madrid have been well documented across all media. It is almost common knowledge now that the Catalonian club owes billions in debt.

Whereas on the other hand, Real Madrid are not too well off themselves, but have managed to stay afloat better than their El Clasico counterparts.

20192020__Club_Premi___Reconeixement_20200218_30

This new ruling by the Europeafour n Court of Justice only adds to the financial plight of both clubs. With Barcelona are struggling to pay the salaries of their players, they are also on the verge of the Presidential elections to determine the successor to the recently arrested former President Josep Maria Bartomeu, this only adds to their plight.

Los Blancos have dealt with the situation imposing salary cuts for their players, but even to them, such a ruling in the form of tax returns is sure to strike a blow considering it is a big figure to pay up in the modern financial climate.

Salah’s agent sends out a tweet to send Liverpool fans anxiety

0

Mo Salah was rather surprisingly taken off during Liverpool’s home defeat against Chelsea, with over half an hour left for the game to finish. The player is still, at the moment the top scorer in the Premier League and could have made an impact on the game.

However, Jürgen Klopp has explained that Salah looked tired towards the end of the game and was unable to track back and help out in defense, which prompted the Reds boss to make the switch to bring on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to no avail, as the reigning champions succumbed to another defeat at home.

Salah has been linked with moves away to Barcelona and Real Madrid as of late. And to only add fuel to the fire of the rumours, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa took to Twitter to express his disappointment at the way his client was treated in the latest outing, tweeting only a full-stop.

‘Who knows what will happen in the future, but right now I am focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool again.’

When pressed on his future further, Salah insisted everything was in Liverpool’s hands, adding: ‘That’s a tough question, but right now I can say that everything is in the hands of the club.

While the prospect of playing for either of the two Spanish giants will always be on the horizon, neither actually has the capacity to fulfil the financial responsibilities in bringing over the Egyptian to Spain. Hence, Liverpool fans can rest easy knowing that Salah’s decision about his future is not set to change based on the fate of a single game.

Real Madrid players’ wages revealed

The wages of all the Real Madrid players have been revealed.

Real Madrid is one of the richest football clubs in Europe. The Spanish giant has never been shy in spending a pretty penny to add to their stash of Galacticos. They have broken the global transfer record five times – from Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Gareth Bale.

However, Gareth Bale is the highest earner in the squad. Currently, he is playing in Premier League for Tottenham Hotspurs on loan. The Welshman earns £650,000 a week, despite being frozen out by current boss Zidane. Tottenham agreed to pay half of the wages of the Welsh winger, with both clubs chipping into the tune of £325,000 per week.

via The Sun

Eden Hazard is in the second position and also the current highest earner. The Belgian earns a staggering £416,000 per week. Hazard has played just played 24 La Liga games since joining from Chelsea in 2019. His injury issues and fitness let him down every time since his joining the Spanish giant.

Club captain Sergio Ramos is in the 3rd place. He earns £312,000 per week.

Real Madrid’s midfield maestros Luca Modric and Toni Kroos are in 4th position as they both earn £210,000 weekly.

Luca Jovic, Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, Marcelo, Varane, Carvajal, Isco, Odriozola, Lucas Vazquez, Asensio, Militao and Borja Mayoral also get six-figure sums each week. A total of 17 players earns more than £100,000 per week.

Young goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is the least paid [£50,000] player in the team.

What’s going wrong with Liverpool?

0

Chelsea managed to hand Liverpool their fifth consecutive loss at Anfield, which is the most in the history of the club. The Blues won 1-0 against the reigning champions with Mason Mount being the only name on the scoresheet for Chelsea.

An early tap-in goal from Timo Werner was ruled out for a marginal offside, but the German forward impressed throughout the game. The only drawback from his game is a certain unlucky spell that doesn’t seem to leave the player whatsoever. However, it was a good performance from Werner in totality with the former Leipzig man attempting a fair share of shots on goal.

The goal from Mason Mount came from him being 1on1 with Fabinho at the edge of the penalty area. And that is where the tendencies of the Brazilian as a midfielder showed. Mount was simply too fast for the Liverpool man, and he curled the ball between Ozan Kabak and Fabinho to beat Alisson at the lower right corner of the goal to put the Blues ahead.

Most of Liverpool’s traditional starting XI were in the lineup, minus the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez who are still out injured. However, the centre-back position remains a problem due to the unbelievable work rate offered by both Van Dijk and Gomez in holding up the high line for Liverpool and helping the full-backs play their natural game high up the flanks.

This was exploited thoroughly by Thomas Tuchel, with the visitors often resorting to long balls and dashing runs from the forwards to build their attack from a deep turnover.

With the centre-backs no closer to a return, Liverpool will have to find a way to maintain defensive solidarity against tougher opposition and find their spark in attack again to potentially outscore their opponents to get the much needed points for Champions League football next season.
