Arsene Wenger offered Jamie Vardy a lot of money to join Arsenal

0

Jamie Vardy’s story is one of the most eventful in football history, earning a move to a Championship club from non-league football and going on to win the Premier League and win two Golden Boot awards for Leicester City.

Jamie Carragher has gone as far as to call his £1 million signing from Fleetwood Town the best signing in history, with the player now having made over 300 appearances for Leicester City and scoring 144 goals in the process.

Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wanted to bring Vardy to the Emirates in 2016, when he starred in Leicester’s title winning campaign, finishing the season as the top scorer in the Premier League.

Wenger offered the Leicester striker ‘a lot of money’ to make the move to London, but as history would have it, the player ended up staying at the King Power Stadium.

‘I offered him a lot of money at the time,’ Wenger told beIN Sports.

‘Leicester had just won the championship in 2016, and [Vichai] Srivaddhanaprabha at the time, who unfortunately after had the helicopter accident, did absolutely not want to lose him and they offered him a longer contract and approximately the same money, if not more.’

He added: ‘We had more of the ball, yes, but still around the box, the timings of his runs, he finds the space.

‘When you see the big strikers, they’re on the move when others stand still in the box, and he has that.

‘You see they read (the game) earlier than others, they anticipate better, they understand quicker than other people what’s going on, and (he has) that quality of anticipation, that speed of understanding.’

Nvidia RTX 3060 being sold for twice its MSRP

0

Nvidia unveiled its RTX 30 series graphics cards at the CES 2021 event and the specs are mouth-watering. Even so now and then we are hearing about the new and upcoming additions to the RTX 30 family.

We already know that one of the upcoming RTX 30 addition is the RTX 3060 graphics card. The card comes with 3584 CUDA cores, and the price of $329 MSRP is a bang for the buck.

But we have sad news today, even though the MSRP mentioned by the manufacturer is all good and acceptable, unfortunately for the gamers in Europe, the price of the GPUs have escalated even more.

According to sources, some European retailers have marked the card upwards of USD 600 (EUR 499) which is almost two times the premium over NVIDIA’s MSRP and 50% over official European MSRP. The price hike was first reported by a user called The Determinator at Videocardz.

But the green team is still trying its best to make its vendors stick to the original MSRP. But to its dismay, it has been reported that several retailers are cancelling the already made pre-orders and are now forcing customers to purchase the cards at the new and inflated prices. they are playing dirty now.

Some might suggest that Nvidia is letting them play dirty, but in reality, it cannot force the retailers to sell their products at a specific rate. It would be illegal. The company can, however, cut the supply to the said vendors. But then, it would lose its market. so Nvidia has its hands tied for now.

For now, the only way for gamers to get their hands on the gaming cards at a reasonable price seems to be by purchasing a prebuilt machine. OEMs like Dell, HP, and others have enough power to force the cards at MSRP, but until then, we gamers have to suffer under the rule of supply and demand.

Amad Diallo fined by Italian FA for falsification of documents

0

Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo has been fined £42,000 by the Italian FA after an investigation revealed the details behind the teenager’s journey to the Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mail:

“Five adults have been accused of smuggling Diallo, his brother Hamed and three other young African footballers into Italy on a family visa six years ago. They face accusations of crimes of forgery and aiding and abetting illegal immigration. Two of them claimed to be the brothers’ parents, allowing the boys to enter through that country’s ‘family reunification’ system.”

during the Primavera TIM Supercup match between Atalanta BC U19 and ACF Fiorentina U19 at Gewiss Stadium on October 28, 2019 in Bergamo, Italy.

Amad Diallo was born in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast and was smuggled into Italy through the breach of Article 19 of FIFA’s rules regarding underage transfers. He originally joined a small club named Boca Barco. He since joined Atalanta and has already made his move to England.

Talent scout Giovanni Damiano Drago gave police information following arrest, according to the Daily Mail and the player’s situation reveals a disturbing and dark side of the beautiful game that is washed over by the flash and the polished nature of the product that we see.

The false documents that Diallo produced to gain entry into Italy claimed Mamadou Hamed Traore and Marina Edwige Carine Teher as the youngster’s father, and mother respectively. However, the investigation that started in the public prosecutor’s realm and was overtaken by the Italian football board uncovered that the information provided was false.

Sassuolo midfielder Hamed Traore’s relation with Amad has also been brought under scrutiny, with officials sceptical of whether the two are actually brothers or not. Hamed has also been fined the same amount by the Italian FA.

ISL clubs spent Rs 9.5 crores in the transfer market to make a record

It is common practice for all the clubs in European football to spend the money on the desired players. But Indian clubs were not interested in this earlier.

However, ISL 7 has seen a massive chance of thought in this regard. Indian clubs seem to be interested in the transfer business.

It was a common practice among the Indian clubs to sign players who are the free agent. But this season clubs have gone for transfer business among them. Manveer Singh joined ATK Mohun Bagan FC from FC Goa for 80 lakhs where Dheeraj Singh went the opposite way for 70 lakhs in the January transfer window.

Indian clubs also paid the release clause to seal their deals. Mumbai City FC, backed by City Football Group, paid Rs 1.6 crore for the release clause of ISL 2019-20 Golden Ball winner Hugo Boumous to secure his services from FC Goa. The clubs also spent money to seal the signings of young talented players of the I-League.

Surprisingly, clubs have also gone for the foreigners of other leagues and clubs. ATK Mohun Bagan FC signed A-League’s Brisbane Roar’s Brad Inman for a transfer fee. Mumbai City FC signed Adam Le Fondre, Cy Goddard on loan.

The ISL clubs spent more than 6 times on incoming players than the last season. The clubs have spent 9.5 crores compared to last year’s Rs 1.4 crore.

Anuj Kichlu of Best Of You Sports said, “ISL has expanded and clubs are moving from 1-2 year contracts to long-term contracts with younger players. The buying and selling of players never happened in the first 4-5 years.”

Lampard contract details revealed

0

It’s been a while since Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea Head Coach, and Thomas Tuchel was appointed as the next man in charge of the Blues. In recent findings regarding the managerial contract of the Chelsea legend, the club are yet to finish paying the entirety of Lampard’s contract at the club.

A change in policy will now see the Stamford Bridge outfit payout £75,000 per week in an attempt to make up the rest of Lampard’s contract which is rumored to be around £1.8 million.

The catch in the clause included in Lampard’s contract that he has since been released from prevents the payment from going through any further if the former Chelsea boss takes up a new job. Hence, until Lampard takes up a new job as a coach, Chelsea will pay the club legend £75,000 a week to compensate for his unemployment.

The England and Chelsea legend is expected to take a break from football for the time being. He is spending time with his family and has been under unbelievable amounts of pressure in his first few years as a manager, leading Derby County in his first season and managing the club he won the Champions League with for 18 months.

Gareth Bale posing problems for Madrid and Spurs

0

The summer transfer window of 2020 brought about the return of Gareth Bale to Tottenham Hotspur, the club where the player came under the radar of Real Madrid and eventually made a record transfer move to.

However, the almost fairy tale like return has not gone according to plan, with the Welshman having started only ten games across all competitions, with only two of them coming in the Premier League. Additionally, he has been a shadow of his former self, managing to score a goal each across all the four competitions that Spurs are participating in.

The general feeling around the club is not in favour of Bale, since his sky-high wages are not being justified with the performance that he is putting on right now.

His loan deal will expire at the end of the season, and should the latter half of the campaign not bring about a change in the 31-year-old’s attitude and displays on the pitch, he will return to Real Madrid with Spurs not entertaining the option of buying the player.

With his infamous history at Real Madrid, the Spanish giants will not hesitate to put him on the transfer list to get rid of him immediately.

Fellow Madrid player Isco, who has been on the bench for the majority of the season so far, is also very unhappy with Real Madrid and is rumoured to be on his way out of the club. Both Isco and Bale will be on the market in the summer of 2021 if things do not undergo a big change.

Real Madrid asked Sergio Ramos to take a pay cut for Gareth Bale

0

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid has requested Sergio Ramos to take a pay cut to ease the club’s burden of paying Gareth Bale’s hefty wages. Ramos’ contract expires in the summer, and there has been no headway in discussions over a new deal.

Ramos’ departure will be a bitter blow for the Spanish giants, as he’s still comfortably the team’s best defender. Real Madrid’s precarious financial situation has not exactly helped matters, as they apparently cannot afford to continue paying Ramos his current salary.

The Covid-19 pandemic has done significant damage and is reportedly the reason why they are resigned to the fact that they will have to hand Gareth Bale his enormous €30m annual salary for another year.

Bale is currently loaned to Tottenham Hotspur for the season, but Madrid will need to cover the £26m salary that they will owe him for the next year.

Last summer, Real Madrid were desperate to get rid of Gareth Bale after he was effectively frozen out of the squad by Zinedine Zidane. The club were unable to find another that was willing to take the Welshman off their hands due to his huge €650,000 per week wages.

Tottenham agreed to take Bale on loan on the condition that Real Madrid would pay half his wages. Real Madrid agreed to do so in hopes that a move back to the Premier League would see Gareth Bale rejuvenate his career, which could lead to a permanent move to either Tottenham or some other club.

Next season if Bale is still with Madrid, it could have a serious impact on the dressing room. Despite the fact that Ramos has played 668 games for the club while Bale has been injury-prone throughout his spell in the Spanish capital, they both share a similar salary.

Manchester United, who were linked with Ramos in the past, could reignite their interest in the Spain captain if he leaves Madrid, coming summer.

India Vs England: Second Test, Day 2 – India clearly have the better chance of winning this Test match

0

In the second Test, Team India crushed England as England was packed up at 134 runs on day two on Sunday after India built up a substantial lead of 249 runs on day 1. The brilliance of Team England was quickly replaced by the Men in blues on the same Chennai so that India can level up the series. Although the ground was the same, the pitch conditions were different because those home situations were increased by extreme surface, so blatantly and very under-prepared which will suit the spinners that it is unfit for Test matches.

Ravichandran Ashwin crossed Harbhajan Singh’s record of bagging 265 wickets on the home soil, except Anil Kumble, ahead with 350 wickets. But also, nine wickets left for Ashwin to claim 400 Test wickets for an Indian in the longest format to join the elite list with Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Kapil Dev. Also, Ashwin claimed five wickets to conclude England’s first innings. Also, he took a five-wicket haul and his 29th in 76 Tests.

India finished the day with a commanding 249-run lead over England and just one wicket down

“When I was watching the 2001 series where Bhajju Pa (Harbhajan) was playing, I didn’t even imagine that I would go out and become an off-spinner for the country.
“I was still a batsman for my state, trying to accelerate a career towards batting and playing for the country, I wasn’t sure whether I would go on and become a player for the Indian team,” Ashwin stated at a virtual post-day press conference.

“Lot of my teammates from that age, from that generation, you know, used to make fun of me, because I used to bowl like Bhajju Pa, my action, I used to try and bowl like him and all that,” he further added.

“So, from there on to come one and actually break the record of something that he possesses, has to be incredibly special. I didn’t know of it, now that I do know of it, I feel happy. Sorry, Bhajju Pa…,” Ashwin finally conclude.

England’s Foakes scored an unbeaten 42 off 107 balls, The visitors crashed at an early 39 runs in a dramatic session with the falling of 8 wickets, and by handing the home team, a 195 runs lead to India in their first innings.

India continued their score of 300 runs for six and managed to stretch it to 329 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by losing the remaining four wickets quite quickly. But Rohit Sharma looked in good form again as he finished with 25, not out the day. But unfortunately, Jack Leach dismissed Shubman Gill by LBW, India losing the only wicket in the second innings.

Disney+ Hotstar revenues have shot up in 2020 thanks to the Covid-19 impact, and IPL 2020 led push.
