The NBA’s developmental G League is looking into a claim made by Jeremy Lin that he was called “coronavirus” on the court during a game, which he opened up about through a post on Facebook.
Lin, who plays for the Golden State Warriors’ G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, shared a heartfelt social media post on Thursday, about an act of racism he experienced during a game. He did not mention where or when it happened.
“Being an Asian American doesn’t mean we don’t experience poverty and racism. Being a 9-year NBA veteran doesn’t protect me from being called ‘coronavirus’ on the court,” Lin wrote. “Being a man of faith doesn’t mean I don’t fight for justice, for myself and for others. So here we are again, sharing how we feel. Is anyone listening?”
Golden State coach Steve Kerr said he will support Lin and denounced any discriminatory act that caused Lin to speak out about racism targeting Asian Americans.
“Really powerful. I applaud Jeremy for his words and echo his sentiments regarding racism against the Asian-American community,” said Kerr before Golden State hosted Charlotte at the Chase Center. “It’s just so ridiculous and obviously spawned by many people, including our former president, as it relates to the coronavirus originating in China. It’s just shocking. I can’t wrap my head around any of it, but I can’t wrap my head around racism in general.”

“We’re all just flesh and blood. We’re all just people. As (Gregg) Pop (Popovich) once said to me, ‘We’re all accidents of birth. We’re born. We come out the way we are. We don’t have a say in it. What we do have a say in is how we treat people.’ It’s shocking to me that we can treat each other so poorly based on the color of skin or whatever it is. So I applaud Jeremy for speaking up,” he remarked.
32-year-old Lin became the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent when he broke in with the Warriors during the 2010-11 season. He has played 29 games for the Warriors as a rookie. Then he went to the New York Knicks and gained popularity that spawned the nickname “Linsanity”.
In totality, the former Harvard star averaged 11.6 points and 4.3 assists in 480 regular-season games from 2010 to 2019 and also won an NBA title with Toronto in 2019.
Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed that the G League had launched an investigation into the alleged incident. The league confirmed the investigation to The New York Times.
Principal investment firm RedBird Capital is ready to acquire a 10 percent stake of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group. It is expected to cost around £537m, with the deal valuing FSG, who also owns baseball team Boston Red Sox, at more than £5bn.
According to a report by Sportico, RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale has been trying to acquire a piece of Fenway, which is controlled by John Henry, for some time. The deal can be agreed upon within the next five to six weeks.
Recently RedBird Capital acquired an 85 percent stake in Ligue 2 club, Toulouse. If this deal goes through then it will be their recent sports-related investment. They also recently acquired a 30 to 40 percent position in sports marketing and talent management company Wasserman Media Group.
Liverpool has faced some financial issues this season. They were short of funds in recent season. Last January, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wanted a centre back for long terms. But he didn’t have the funds to sign a long-term candidate for the job. But in the following circumstance, he signed Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke and Ben Davies on a permanent deal from Preston.
In the present condition, the Reds are forced to sell a percent of stake.
The dedication from Google for its Stadia cloud gaming service is now seemingly disappearing, as they recently have ceased all the first-party development, shuttering Google’s Stadia Game & Entertainment studios in Los Angeles and Montreal. Though the service of Stadia continues, Google has declared that their main target is to licensing their Stadia tech out to the other developers and publishers.
According to a report by Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, Google spent “10s of millions” to lock down some titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and unnamed games from Ubisoft. It is reported that Stadia couldn’t reach its targets for controller sales and the monthly active users by hundreds of thousands.
Phil Harrison deserves huge credit for helping build up the PlayStation brand but didn’t look like a home in the world of cloud gaming. As per the reports, some within Google did believe that Stadia should be rolled out, but Harrison preferred an exclusive console-like launch.
Stadia truly needs software, and it’s not a good option to pay millions for every port, Stadia Games & Entertainment was made to provide content, but it seems they never, in fact, made it out of the prototype phase. Schreier has described one project as a mix between Tamagotchi and Google Assistant that lets you interact and talk with several smart creatures.
It will be an interesting one to see that where Google and Stadia go next, but it seems that those early free-spending days are now over. Let’s hope that Google can pivot with Stadia because the technology is awe-inspiring when you get your hands on it.
Bundesliga’s club Schalke, who is in a crisis, has sacked almost their entire sporting team on Sunday, which includes coach Christian Gross after a purported player uprising and their 16th league defeat increased their horrific season deeper into crisis. Their Coach Gross, sporting director Jochen Schneider and team coordinator Sascha Riether were sacked from their duties on Sunday’s extensive clear out.
“The decision had become unavoidable after results against Dortmund and Stuttgart,” said Schalke chairman Jens Buchta in a statement which was followed after Schalke’s 5-1 loss to Stuttgart on Saturday, just a week after they defeated their local rivals Borussia Dortmund.
“The team now owe it to the club and the fans to be as successful as possible in the last third of the season.”
Assistant Rainer Widmayer and fitness coach Werner Leuthard were also fired, who was a part of Gross’ team.
The decision of once a giant Schalke happened due to their standing at the bottom of the league and nine points drifting of safety, with only just winning one match of their 23 league games this season.
Two years ago, having played the Champions League, Schalke is now dashing towards their first expatriation ever since 1988.
Veteran Swiss Gross, who is now 66, had taken over his job for only two months, having taken charge from the interim boss Huub Stevens during the late December to become Schalke’s fourth coach this ongoing season.
After being victorious in his second game in charge, was witnessed Schalke narrowingly avoiding equalling a 54-year-old Bundesliga record of 31 games streak without a win. Still, Gross was absolutely unable to solve the problem and save the team.
Schalke’s 4-0 victory over Hoffenheim is his only win in 10 league games after taking over, as Schalke remained at the bottom of the table.
There were some reports of a player’ revolt against Gross’ management and leadership in the German media during the last week after their Saturday defeat.
Schalke’s Team coordinator Riether played down the rumours and stated of it being “normal that players are disappointed” but also denied the rumours of there being a “revolution” in the dressing room.
Although on Sunday, both Gross and Riether were said goodbye as Schalke made one last desperate decision to save their season.
The club has already started its rebuilding process for the second division, as they handed the over squad planning work to loan director Mike Bueskens and youth director Peter Knaebel.
Two weeks ago, they announced that their sporting director Schneider would be leaving the club at the end of the season, a decision that has now seen with more importance.
Knaebel will now take over “overall responsibility”, with Bueskens, Norbert Elgert, and Gerald Asamoah as support, the club said.
Gross’ replacement as head coach is yet to be announced.
The F19 series from the house of Oppo is much talked about in the last few weeks and according to one of the famous tipsters, we might see the F19 series launching in India very soon.
This upcoming series is expected to offer two smartphones: Oppo F19 Pro and Oppo F19 Pro+. Thanks to the leaks, we have a few of the key information about the handsets which we are here to share with you. You can find the tweet of the tipster here.
OPPO F19 Series details I'm hearing from retail sources.
The OPPO F19 Pro+ will be a 5G handset that will flaunt a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and will be powered with a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor. The smartphone features a solid RAM of 8 GB and offers an internal storage of up to 128 GB. In terms of optics, it will host a triple-camera setup at the back.
This will include a 64 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP depth camera sensor. In terms of the front camera, you will be offered a 32 MP front camera for selfies. For this lens, you will spot a punch-hole cutout. The smartphone comes along with an in-display fingerprint scanner which is an interesting feature itself.
The F19 Pro will have similar display specifications and changes are mostly within the smartphone. Focussing on the battery, it houses a 4,310 mAh battery cell and is paired with 30W fast charging. In comparison, the OPPO F19 Pro+ hosts a 4,500 mAh battery with similar charging support. It is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P95 processor. SC East Bengal and Odisha FC ended their season with an 11 goal thriller. It was the highest-scoring match in ISL history as well.
Both the teams have failed to perform this season. SC East Bengal and Odisha FC finished at 9th and 11th position respectively. But both of them has given a high scoring thriller on their final matchday.
The match ended in a 6-5 scoreline as Odisha FC got the better of SC East Bengal. Both the teams have faced a lot of difficulties defensively this season. Yesterday was not an exception. Defensive flaws affect both teams.
11 goals in a match – a new record set by two weakest teams of 7th #ISL
It could have been 22 goals coz defensive organisation was such.#odishafc ended the season with a memorable win. @Stevendias23 well done.
Doubles from two Indian youngsters Paul Ramfangzauva (49′, 66′) and Jerry Mawihmingthanga (51′, 67′) with Lalhrezuala (33′) and Diego Mauricio (69′) chipping in helped Odisha FC to end the season on a high note. Whereas, goals from Anthony Pilkington (24′), Aaron Joshua Holloway (60′, 90′), Jeje Lalpekhlua (74′) and an own goal from Ravi Kumar (37′) was not enough for SC East Bengal to save the day.
Odisha FC ended the season with a memorable win whereas for SC East Bengal this was a season to forget in many ways. After the match and the season SC East Bengal boss, Robbie Fowler said, “I disagree with it being a disappointing season. We would have liked things to have been better. There were individual errors and we let ourselves down. Less said about the second half the better. Every shot they had went in. We knew it was a big job before start of the season. Expectations were a bit higher than what we envisaged.”
“We can prepare for next season now. We didn’t have enough time for this season. We have few months to get things in shape.” – he added.
“I don’t know if you are after a comment from me. At times they have been left wanting. Attitude and desire need to be improved. We have a lot of things gone against us this year. If you are honest people don’t like it here. It’s better to keep it quiet.” – Fowler said about the Indian footballers.
Youngsters in football are one of the most interesting topics of observation for fans of the sport. With the modern era of football, the clout around the players in their early twenties has become higher than ever. With that said, here are 5 relatively unknown players in Europe that will demand attention in the years to come.
Odilon Kossounou
At 20, Kossounou can play as a right-back as well as a centre-back which already adds to his versatility across the backline. The youngster plays for Belgian Pro League team Club Brugge and is being tipped to be one of the top defenders in the years to come.
Adrien Truffert
Moving to the other side of the pitch, and in left-back, Adrien Truffert has been an amazing revelation for Rennes. The French club qualified for their first ever Champions League this season but got eliminated in the group stages. He has assisted three goals this season and has all the tools to succeed as a modern full-back.
Sofiane Diop
The Monaco youngster is turning into one of the most versatile players in the league, being deployed in a variety of midfield positions by Niko Kovac and impressing in every one of them. Diop has managed to score 6 times in 26 appearances this season.
Christos Tzolis
Tzolis hails from Greece, and is tipped to be the one to break the trend of below par attackers being produced from the country. The teenager can play anywhere across the front three and has already scored 11 times in 32 appearances this season.
Matthew Hoppe
As what seems like the only good thing about right now, Hoppe is an old school number 9, who presses the opposition, gets into good positions and has the ability to finish. The teenager has found the back of the net five times this season, and will only get better with time.
Google, in a shocking announcement, revealed to the public the closure of Stadia Games & Entertainment. As much shocked as we all were, we all knew that this was doomed to happen.
But reports have revealed further details about the studio’s projects before running to a close. The canceled projects from Stadia included a multiplayer action game known as “Frontier,” a sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet 2, and an exclusive game from the legendary Kojima.
A report from VideoGamesChronicle claims to reveal a few of the major projects Stadia Games & Entertainment, SG&E, had in the works. The reportedly “Frontier,” named project, was a major action multiplayer game. The team developing that game was reportedly led by Francois Pelland, the former producers of Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, a pretty big deal.
Journey to the Savage Planet just made its Stadia debut this month, and Google’s purchase of Typhoon Studios was set to result in a sequel. But unfortunately, the team here only found out about the project’s cancellation alongside the public announcement.
Stadia Games & Entertainment worked with some third-party studios to develop exclusive games for the Stadia platform. It’s been publicly known for some time that Harmonix was working with SG&E on an exclusive. In response to the news, Harmonix CEO claimed the game had not been canceled, stating, “While Google has shifted its strategy, we remain incredibly excited about what we’ve been working on for Stadia, and if the project isn’t released for Stadia, we will take it to other platforms.”
According to sources, Google was also working with Kojima Productions, the studio behind Death Stranding, Silent Hills, and Metal Gear Solid, on an episodic horror game.
Google had a pretty big project running at the Stadia Games & Entertainment. It makes you wonder why the company decided to pull the plug on all those projects. Hopefully, it doesn’t pull the plug on Stadia; I am pretty excited to see how the technology works when 5G becomes stable and globalized.

DesignandBuilt
We are looking at small and compact earbuds that weigh not more than 4 grams each and designed in a plastic body with a touch panel at the outer side of the earbuds. These earbuds have the branding right above the touch panel on both earbuds. There is an indicator that glows red and blue to indicate charging, control, and connectivity status.
Now moving towards the case, we are looking into a usually smaller in size earbud case which is the most important thing right now. This case has a plastic built and has branding at the top of it. The most interesting part of it is that it has a tiny little display that indicates the charge of the case and from here also we can see that the earbuds are being charged. Apart from this, the case has a Type-C USB port.
If you see or take both the case and TWS earbuds in hand you can feel how compact it is and apart from these the TWS surely feels nearly premium, but not totally. The built quality is very sturdy and does not break when falls from waist height, in case, the lid opens and the earbuds come out.
How to Pair?
Steps to pair the pTron Bassbuds Pro with any iOS and Android devices.
Open the lid of the case and take out the earbuds.
Then turn on the Bluetooth of your smartphone/ iPad/ laptop.
Search for any wireless device.
Then the newly found device section you can see the name pTron Bassbuds Pro.
Click on the name and then it will ask to pair with the TWS earbuds.
Accept the prompt and pair with it.
Controls
These are all the touch controls that will help you in a hands free experience from your smartphone. There are several controls from accepting calls to accessing smart assistant without touch your device that can be accessed only by these touch controls.

Comfort and Usage
As mentioned earlier each earbud weighs approximately 4 grams which is very lightweight and after fitting in ears it will feel like nothing is in the ears. It has an absolute physical noise cancellation design that will not allow any surrounding sound while plugged in the ears to enter ears. It fits comfortably in the ears and feels great, moreover, it does not falls from the ears once fitted properly.
All conditions proof IPX4 sweat and water-resistant earbuds can be word while workout, while the silicon tip are adjustable with two other spare eartips of different sizes. Along with this the touch controls make it more user friendly and accessible with any one hand.
The pTron Bassbuds Pro provides a 4Hrs Playback with Earbuds, +8Hrs with charging case which gives a pretty decent 12 Hrs Combined Playtime for such compact TWS earbuds. It takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge the case with a Type-C charger. On top of that, the battery percentage shown in the case is pretty useful which gives a proper idea of the remaining usage time.
I would like to focus on the microphone of this earbud which is quite impressive but one thing I noticed after outdoor usage that it faces a problem to receive the voice properly in a crowded place with a mask on. In such a situation, you need to talk loudly so that the microphone can receive your sound properly.

Audio Quality
The audio quality of the pTron Bassbuds Pro is amazing, especially the highs (audio) are up to the mark. When the volume is 100% the sound has a soothing effect but might not be needed every time. The 8mm Dynamic Speakers with High Bass exquisite sound details with proper Bass. The bass is very prominent and overall the quality is up to the mark for this price range. There seems to have no issue while playing games with these headphones.
The headphone can be accessible within a range of 10m and the connection breaks down a little bit if you travel in the whole house, keeping the phone in a room.

Our Thought
After using it for a week I am totally impressed with both the audio quality and its lightweight built. The whole case of the TWS is very small and can be easily carried anywhere, needless to mention the weight as each earbuds are weighed 4grams approximately. There is no fear of falling from the ears but would recommend you all to handle it properly as it has a high tendency of falling while handling as it is so lightweight.
Considering the price of Rs.1,299 you can definitely go for this pTron Bassbuds Pro TWS earbuds. I am strongly recommending this gadget as it is one of the best within this price range and might also be the only one.
