SK Hynix announces the mass production of 18GB LPDDR5 mobile DRAM

The world’s one of the biggest DRAM maker has announced that it has kicked off mass production of 18GB LPDDR5 mobile DRAM. This is a significant announcement as 18GB RAM is in itself is the first time to be ever seen.

SK Hynix has recently said that its new LPDDR5 mobile DRAM runs at up to a whopping 6,400Mbps, around 20% faster than the standard mobile LPDDR5 DRAM with speeds of up to 5,500Mbps. At this data rate, you can transfer ten 5GB FHD (Full-HD) movies per second.

This Sky Hynix’s 18GB LPDDR5 mobile DRAM will be included in the upcoming gaming smartphones as well as on other premium devices; even such a huge quantity of RAM on smartphones doesn’t make any sense.

Quite expectedly, SK Hynix did end disclosing the fact that the very first smartphone that will be equipped with 18GB LPDDR5 RAM will be Asus’s ROG 5 gaming smartphone series marking the start of full-scale volume production. It makes sense as the launch of the smartphone is just days apart.

As Digitimes states, the LPDDR5 DRAM accounts for only about 10% of the entire mobile DRAM market currently. However, the market share is expected to rise above 50% by 2023, as more and more devices adopt faster RAM solutions.

Upcoming Netflix Series ‘Lupin (Part-2)’- All We Know So Far

Netflix has recently launched a teaser trailer of the upcoming second-part episodes of Lupin. It is featuring Omar Sy as an underestimated gentleman thief named Assane Diop who is inspired by the Arsene Lupin Books during the revenge for his father’s death.

The first five episodes depict Assane like he set out to reveal the crimes of Hubert Pelligrini who was the employer of his father and framed for stealing of most expensive diamond necklace. In the very first episode, it was seen that the Pelligrini family started to retaliate.

Release date:

In January 2021 the team was announced that part 2 of Lupin will air on Netflix this summer. The latest five episodes are directed by Ludovic Bernard and Hugo Gelin. Part one of Lupin was aired on Friday 8^th January 2021 but when part two will be filmed back to back that is unknown.

The second part of Lupin is featuring with Omar Sy as Assane, Parisian gentleman thief, Vincent Londez as Captain Romain Laugier, Ludivine Sagnier, Clotilde Hesme, Nicole Farcia, Herve Pierre, Soufiane Guerrab, Antoine Gouy, Fargass Assande and also Shirine Boutella.

Lupin (Part-2) all Details

It is originally a French-language series followed by a central character Assane Diop who is a Parisian Janitor. In childhood, he has gifted a book about the French literacy character Arsene Lupin who is a genuine thief.

From that book, Assane was very inspired by the character Lupin and achieved mastery about the arts of disguise and also sleight of hand and also orchestrates huge, ambitious heists with one intending to take revenge on his father who was committed suicide in prison after accusing falsely of theft by the wealthy Pelligrini family.

The last we have seen that Assane was desperately looking for his young Raoul abducted by the Pelligrini family. The story becomes complicated and Assane had a detective at his back.

The second part was teased by Netflix in March that revealed that was not a game anymore. Assane Quest for revenge against Hubert Pelligrini had torn his family into pieces. After his back to the wall, he had to think about some new plan even if it may put him in danger.

It indicates that the first trailer teaser of part 2 has confirmed that Raoul, the son of Assane who will be kidnapped by Leonard on behalf of Hubert Pelligrini who had planned to use his son as bait.

Apple’s “helmet-type” Mixed Reality Headset to launch in 2022, predicts Apple analyst

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts in a new research note TF International Securities, obtained by MacRumors, that Apple will release its long-rumored “helmet-type” mixed reality headset next year, augmented reality glasses by the year 2025, and an AR contact lens product by 2030-2040.

“We predict that Apple’s MR/AR product roadmap includes three phases: helmet type by 2022, glasses type by 2025, and contact lens type by 2030–2040. We foresee that the helmet product will provide AR and VR experiences, while glasses and contact lens types of products are more likely to focus on AR applications.” Kuo writes in the note, according to MacRumors.

Kuo added that while several prototypes of Apple’s mixed reality headset weigh between 200 and 300 grams. However, if Apple can find a solution to some technical problems, the headset could end up weighing between 100 and 200 grams, which would be significantly lighter than many existing VR devices. Due to a complex design, Kuo expects the headset’s price to be around $1,000 in the United States, in line with the price of a “high-end iPhone.”

Kuo believes Apple’s headset has the potential to provide an “immersive experience that is significantly better than existing VR products” as Kuo says the headset will be equipped with Sony’s Micro-OLED displays and several optical modules to provide a “see-through AR experience,” adding that the headset can “also offer a VR experience.”

He said that the headset will be portable but not mobile like an iPhone and expects technological improvements to enhance mobility in the future.

Last month, a report by The Information showed that the headset would be equipped with more than many cameras for tracking hand movements, along with advanced eye-tracking technology and two ultra-high-resolution 8K displays.

“Although Apple has been focusing on AR, we think the hardware specifications of this product can provide an immersive experience that is significantly better than existing VR products. We believe that Apple may highly integrate this helmet with video-related applications (e.g., Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, etc.) as one of the key selling points.”

As for Apple’s augmented reality glasses, 2025 is the earliest that Kuo expects it to launch, and he believes there is “no prototype yet.” Last, he also looked far into the future and predicted that Apple would launch “contact lenses” at some point after 2030.
