Football Team of the Decade (2010s)

The decade of the 2010s is coming to an end. So here’s the football team of the decade!

The decade of the 2010s was quite incredible for the football fans. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi – the two players from another planet – have dominated the world of football in this decade.

The prestigious magazine France Football, who gives the Ballon d’Or award every year, have now announced their Team of the Decade.

This team of 11 players is dominated by Spaniards who had a very successful decade. They won the World Cup and the Euro and on the club level two Spanish clubs – Real Madrid and Barcelona – have conquered it all.

France Football have taken into consideration a simple, precise and above all very revealing criteria: the presence of players in the top 10 of the France Football Ballon d’Or rankings in the last ten years.

Team of the Decade

casillas
Casillas

Goalkeeper

Iker Casillas
Casillas was at the top from the beginning of this decade. He won the World Cup in 2010, Euro in 2012, and was also the winner of the Champions League in 2014.
He had three appearances in the top 10 of the Ballon d’Or, in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Spanish goalkeeper fully deserves his place in the team of the decade.
Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Buffon were also contenders for this place, but Casillas won it all in this decade. He is the only goalkeeper, over the decade, to have won the Champions League, the World Cup and the Euro.

Lahm and Marcelo
Lahm and Marcelo

Defenders

Philipp Lahm, Virgil van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo
Philipp Lahm starts on the right flank. He was 6th in the 2014 Ballon d’Or. The German right-back won the World Cup as captain in 2014. He has also reinvented himself at Bayern Munich as a midfielder in the latter stage of his career.
Virgil van Dijk and Sergio Ramos will form the centre-back pair. Liverpool signed Van Dijk from Southampton. The Dutch giant changed the face of the Reds under Jurgen Klopp and his national team too. He came second in the 2019 Ballon d’Or. Sergio Ramos has led Real Madrid to greater heights. He won 4 Champions League – 3 in a row. Ramos has also won the Euro and the 2010 World Cup. He finished 6th in the Ballon d’Or 2017.
Marcelo will occupy the left-back position. He has also conquered it all along with Casillas and Ramos at Real Madrid. He is the only player on this list, who has never appeared in the top 10 of the Ballon d’Or. He earned this place due to his 16th place in 2017 and his 22nd position in 2018.

Iniesta and Modric
Iniesta and Modric

Midfielders

Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric
Barcelona and Real have dominated the decade, in terms of individual or collective trophies, and it is logical that the midfield consists of Real Madrid and Barcelona’s midfield maestros.
Xavi Hernandez was phenomenal in Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona and in the Spanish national team, winning the 2010 World Cup. He finished three times in the top 5 of the Ballon d’Or. He forms the basis of the midfield. He will be ably supported by Andres Iniesta. He scored the heroic goal in the final of the 2010 World Cup. He was also sensational with Barcelona, winning many titles. His Ballon d’Or rankings – 2nd in 2010, 4th in 2011, 3rd in 2012, 6th in 2013 and 9th in 2015. Luka Modric will complete the midfield trio. He is the one who ended the Messi-Ronaldo duopoly over the Ballon d’Or by winning the 2018 Ballon d’Or. Before that, he finished 6th in the ranking in 2018. His record with Real Madrid, notably in Europe is phenomenal.

Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar
Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar

Forwards

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr
Portugal, Argentina, Brazil – A trio that stinks of football, right? In any case, these three superstars have undoubtedly marked their era, even the history of football.
To start, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have defined this decade. They are way above the other players. Messi has 6 and Ronaldo has 5 Ballons d’Or. This duo has been winning for years and still fuel the rivalry. They have never left the top 10 of the Ballon d’Or ranking over the entire decade, and deserve more than anyone their place on this team.
To support them, Neymar Jr is one player who has the ability and fully deserves this place. He has been in the top 10 Ballon d’Or list 6 times. Whether with Santos, Barcelona, PSG or Brazil, with whom he won the Olympic Games, the Brazilian has made his class speak. He always aspires to be the world’s best.

Realme to replace “DART” and “SUPERDART” names for its fast charge technology

0

Realme has changed the way people charge their smartphones – especially their mid-range range devices. This started from its best selling smartphone Realme 3 Pro where they borrowed Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 with 20W rating.

This totally changed the game of charging smartphones, forced other competitors to increase their charging speeds in mid-range smartphones. Even though, the fact remains the VOOC Flash Charge is the fastest one in this mid-range smartphone segment.

Realme to replace “DART” and “SUPERDART” names for its fast charge technology

As we all know Realme is an Oppo separated brand that draws a lot in common with it but it is now making its separate new identity. They will soon shed their dependent on Color OS and bring their own Realme OS and also they are to discard Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charge branding.

So, Realme has recently trademarked a new for its fast-charge technology: “DART” and “SUPERDART”. The logos used suggests that these names will surely replace their current names of VOOC Flash Charge and Super VOCC Flash Charge.

Realme to replace “DART” and “SUPERDART” names for its fast charge technology

It might be the rebranding of Oppo’s flash charge technologies or it might happen that Realme is getting big in the future, planning to implement its own technologies in their smartphones and power banks.

Realme currently uses 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology on its recently introduced Realme X2 and uses the insane 50W Super VOOC Flash Charge on its flagship device named the Realme X2 Pro, which charges a 4000mAh battery in just 35 minutes.

It will be interesting to see how Realme implements its new DART and SUPERDART technologies in their upcoming devices and how much improvement they can bring to its current flash charge technologies.

Borussia Dortmund have signed teenage sensation Erling Braut Haaland

Borussia Dortmund have beaten off competition from top European clubs to get the signature of Erling Braut Haaland.

Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign the much-coveted 19-year-old from Red Bull Salzburg. The Norwegian striker has been the taking point of this season.

Haaland has agreed to join Dortmund on a deal that will run until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Haaland has only spent a year with Salzburg. The Austrian club signed him from Molde. During his time at Salzburg, he rose to prominence with his scoring feats at both domestic and European level. He found the net in his first five appearances in the Champions League group stage.

He said in a statement published on Salzburg’s official website: “My move to Salzburg was the best decision of my life so far. So much has happened in the last year, it’s hard to believe. I had the opportunity to learn so much in a perfect environment and in a short time. I am extremely grateful to everyone in the club for this.”

“I am proud to have been part of this team and I wish everyone that the season in Salzburg can continue so successfully.
For me, the journey continues at Borussia Dortmund, but I will always look back to Salzburg with joy.”

Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund said: “It is unbelievable how Erling developed with us and what outstanding achievements he has achieved together with our team. We are proud that we were able to bring another young player to this level of performance.”

Haaland’s heroics

The teenager has scored a remarkable 28 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season. A tally of 16 goals in 14 Austrian Bundesliga games is impressive, but Haaland’s most notable performances came at the highest level of European club football.

Haaland scored a hat-trick on his Champions League debut against Genk on 17th September. He became the first teenager to score more than one goal on his maiden appearance in the competition since Wayne Rooney in 2004.

He scored more goals against Liverpool and Napoli to take his tally to seven goals from just four games. It is a record haul for a teenager in a Champions League campaign. He swiftly surpassed the previous benchmark of six goals set by Raul and Kylian Mbappe.

He then went on to become only the third player, after Alessandro Del Piero and Diego Costa, to score in his first five matches in the competition when he grabbed another goal against Genk on 27th November.

Prior to his Champions League heroics, Haaland also made quite the impression at the Under-20 World Cup in May. In a shockingly one-sided 12-0 win for Norway against Honduras, Haaland scored nine goals, breaking the previous individual record of six goals held by Brazil’s Adailton.

Haaland’s new journey

Borussia Dortmund have beaten off reported competition from the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and RB Leipzig to sign the 19-year-old. German outlet Kicker claim the transfer fee is in the region of €20m.

Haaland will move to Dortmund as soon as the transfer window officially opens on 1st January and he will link up with his new team-mates at the club’s winter training camp in Marbella on 3rd January.

Haaland told the club’s official website: “I had intensive discussions with the club management and the sports management, especially with Hans-Joachim Watzke, Michael Zorc and trainer Lucien Favre.”

“There was a feeling right from the start that I absolutely wanted to switch to this club, go this route and play football in this incredible Dortmund atmosphere in front of more than 80,000 spectators. I’m already burning for it.”

Haaland could make his debut when Lucien Favre’s side travel to face Augsburg in the Bundesliga on 18th January.

MediaTek Dimensity 1000L outperforms Snapdragon 765G in AnTuTu

0

The much-awaited two new SoCs have been benchmarked and now we have the results! The even more superior 7nm based MediaTek’s Density 1000 SoC has been benchmarked against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G which is not fair but considering the price points, this seems to be a more realistic battle.

According to the leaked AnTuTu benchmark, the upcoming Snapdragon 765G-powered OPPO Reno 3 Pro is up against the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L-powered OPPO Reno 3. It is surprising to see that the Reno 3 which will surely be cheaper than the “Pro” variant outperforms the latter in both CPU and GPU performance.

MediaTek Dimensity 1000L outperforms Snapdragon 765G in AnTuTu

The Snapdragon 765G comprises of two Cortex-A76 performance cores and one of it is clocked up to 2.4 GHz, and the other performance core reaches up to 2.2 GHz. The six other Cortex-A55 based efficiency cores still go up to 1.8 GHz, not a huge improvement as compared to Snapdragon 730 in clock speeds.

The 7nm based MediaTek Dimensity 1000 features four high-end Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.6GHz which is the main reason for the better performance of this SoC and we have four Cortex-A55 power-efficient cores clocked at 2.2GHz.

MediaTek Dimensity 1000L outperforms Snapdragon 765G in AnTuTu

In the CPU test, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L has scored a record total of 126,692 points while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G came off with a score of only 102,230 which means 24% better CPU performance by this MediaTek SoC.

In the GPU front, we always knew that the Mali GPUs are typically worse than Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU series, but in the case of MediaTek Dimensity 1000L, it manages to outperform the Snapdragon 765G graphically as well.

The Mali-G77 MP9 GPU scores a whopping 99,250, a 6% improved performance over the Snapdragon 765G’s Adreno 620 GPU that scores 93,977 points. However, we see the Pro variant to score 67,632 and 56,983 points for Memory and UX, compared to slightly lower scores of 67,349 and 44,378 points of the standard Reno 3.

MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset for mid-range smartphones announced

Well, one thing is clear, the new MediaTek Dimensity 1000L SoC will be a revolutionary one for MediaTek especially in the premium performing smartphone segment.

Obviously it will not be against the much more premium Snapdragon 865 but if the chip is available in mid-range devices, we can enjoy a premium performance which we would only rely till now on Qualcomm. MediaTek’s market revived from the advent of their Helio P series and then the new Helio G90T outperforming the Snapdragon 730G.

Now, we see the same case with the new Dimensity 1000L that deliberately crushes the Snapdragon 765G, just can’t wait to see these new devices in the coming year. All these smartphones using both MediaTek and Snapdragon SoCs will be 5G ready as well.
