That would have decreased the confidence of the customers. But now it seems it like specs will be near to the OnePlus 9 Pro in performance.

India claims victory in the 4th T20 to level the series 2-2

India won the 4th T20 and leveled the series 2-2 after a thrilling contest till the end. Virat Kohli’s men beat England by 8 runs.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first innings, Indian batsmen did a pretty good job. Suryakumar Kumar Yadav played an excellent knock of 57 of 31 balls. They set a target of 186 runs for the visitors in the second innings.

However, Indian bowlers did a great job to restrict England within 177 runs. At a time, when Ben Stokes [46 of 23] was playing, it looks like it will be England’s game. But back to back two wickets from Indian youngster Shardul Thakur changed the completely.

After the game, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, “Proper game against a top side. The wicket was better than any of the other games. 180-plus was something we were looking at. Special mention to Surya, he batted outstandingly well in his first game. Similar to Ishan. They are quite fearless having played in the IPL. We don’t have any T20Is after this so I want the guys to be confident and come out of it very strongly. With the ball, we were quite clinical. Shardul turned it around but our powerplay start kept England in check and under pressure.”

Surya Kumar Yadav was presented the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his excellent performance. However, it all belongs to the final game of the series which will decide the outcome of the series on Saturday.

AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution will launch this year itself for PCs

0

AMD has bounced back into the GPU market last year with the announcement of the Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs and since then we are having only one question – When will AMD bring the NVIDIA DLSS alternative to Radeon GPUs?

It seems Scott Herkelman, the CVP & GM at AMD Radeon, did give us a lot of insight about FidelityFX Super Resolution – the marketing name for the DLSS alternative. It is good for you to know that the main reason AMD is taking so long is because they want to develop as a cross platform initiative rather than NVIDIA’s selective marketing.

So, this is the reason why AMD’s super-resolution technology is still in development but it AMD is definitely aiming to launch it by this year itself. Obviously, if AMD has to compete NVIDIA, it has to make a DLSS alternative.

Scott did also confirm they have a lot of work to do, they are also evaluating the actual technology behind the upscaling algorithm as well. Here’s what he said during PCWorld’s Full Nerd Special podcast:

It’s progressing very well internally in our lab, but it’s our commitment to the gaming community that it needs to be open that it needs to work across all things and game developers need to adopt it. Even though it’s progressing well, we still have more work to do and not only internally but with our game developer partners. We want to launch it this year. We believe we can do that this year, but at the same time we a lot more work ahead of us. We need to make sure the image quality is there. We need to make sure it can scale from different resolutions. And at the same time that our game developers are happy with what we are producing.

When asked about whether AMD’s tech will be using the help of Machine Learning or not, Scott did clarify that their tech will not solely be based on ML like what NVIDIA’s is, thanks to their Tensor cores. This makes sense because to implement Microsoft DirectML of super-resolution, you do not need ML:

You don’t need machine learning to do it, you can do this many different ways and we are evaluating many different ways. What matters the most to us is what game developers want to use because if at the end of the day it is just for us, we force people to do it, it is not a good outcome. We would rather say: gaming community, which one of these techniques would you rather see us implement so that this way it can be immediately spread across the industry and hopefully cross-platform.

Although AMD plans to launch the FidelityFX Super-Resolution as a cross-platform initiative, the goal as of now is to launch the tech for PCs first. With time, we can get more insight on when it could end up on consoles, which games and GPUs will support it, and how much performance improvement we can expect.

Intel teases the Xe-HPG discrete gaming GPU

0

The CPU giant finally steps into the gaming graphics market and drops in the official teaser which tells soon we can see some kind of announcement. Actually the company dropped a short video teaser during the GDC 2021 Showcase where it did indeed present its latest CPUs and GPUs.

Obviously, besides this, their recently announced 11th Gen Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs have also been shown to be the best for gaming as well. However, the main highlight has to be its upcoming gaming GPUs, provided the fact that this sector had only been dominated by AMD and NVIDIA alone.

The teaser is an interesting one, because, here we see the Intel’s already used Xe-LP graphics that we have seen on few laptops, is getting an energy beam on it. Now, this energy the Xe-LP graphics to expand the silicon into 5 layers of blocks, maybe suggesting that its new gaming GPU will have 5 times as many Execution Units.

If we go by that way, then the Xe-LP DG1 GPU which comes with up to 96 EUs could feature around 480 EUs. Whatever that actually might suggest but Intel did give a lot of info about its upcoming Intel Xe-HPG architecture last year and its broader outlook in terms of the total graphics market.

Hopefully, with this teaser, we can expect Intel to launch its new gaming GPUs by the end of 2021 and it is also rumored that these graphics processors will be manufactured by an external foundry.

Thomas Tuchel sets new unbeaten record with Atletico win

0

With their 2-0 victory against Atletico Madrid to seal a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, Thomas Tuchel became the Chelsea manager with the most number of unbeaten games since taking over the club, winning or drawing 13 games since replacing Frank Lampard.

The last manager to hold the record of the most unbeaten games since taking over was Luiz Felipe Scolari who went 12 games without a loss since taking over in 2008. However, something special seems to be laid out before us with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea playing the way they have.

The most notable change is the newfound sense of purpose on the pitch that the Blues previously lacked. Moreover, Tuchel is not afraid to rotate the squad and give the fringe players a go-to fit the system and breathe some fresh air into the match, and it has paid off well.

The best example of the situation has to be the reintroduction of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso in the defense. Chelsea are more defensively solid than they have been in the last few years, and the only time an opposition player scored against them was in the 1-1 draw against Southampton in February when Takumi Minamino put the Saints ahead.

It has been almost a whole month since anybody last scored against Chelsea, and the only other player to put the ball in their net was Antonio Rudiger himself due to an own goal.

Apart from this, it also offers features like 120x hybrid zoom, 15x video zoom, 1920fps slow-motion video shooting, and 8K video recording support.

Manchester City looking at Robin Gosens and Sporting CP youngster Nuno Mendes for left-back

Manchester City will be looking to sign a left-back this summer, and are looking at multiple targets according to Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast. Benjamin Mendy and Oleksander Zinchenko have been out of the squad, while João Cancelo has been filling in for left-back.

Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens is still on Pep Guardiola’s list, according to the Italian journalists. While there has been no concrete approach made by City for the 26-year-old, they will be trying to sign him in the summer. Gosens has been linked with City for a long time and it remains to be seen whether the deal will become concrete in the months to come.

Another new target has emerged for the club in the form of Nuno Mendes of Sporting CP. The 18-year-old has established himself as the first choice on the left hand side of the defence, and has the characteristics of a typical Sporting academy product. Skilled on the ball, and energetic going in attack, Mendes could be a great fit for Guardiola’s brand of football.

However, it won’t be easy for City to acquire the talent since Sporting are reportedly set to ask for a gigantic sum worth €70 million. Given the current financial situation, it will be almost impossible for City to pay that kind of money.

Liverpool backing Jürgen Klopp as head coach, Fabinho contract extension

0

Despite the very shaky form endured by Liverpool at home, the board is backing Jürgen Klopp as the right person to lead the team into the future. The Merseyside club picked up a win against Wolves at the Molineux in their most recent encounter, which gave a boost to their chances of finishing in the top four.

They also managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League in an impressive display over two legs against last year’s semi-finalists RB Leipzig, and now await the draw for the last eight.

klopp

There were rumours surrounding Klopp, linking him to the Germany national team job but the Reds boss squashed all links saying that he is committed to the Liverpool job. The board feels no need to make a drastic change despite their recent plunge in form and things could finally start to be looking good for the reigning Champions who seemingly have no chance of retaining their title.

Talking about transfers, Liverpool are looking to extend the contract of Fabinho, who has been even more vital to the team given that Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are out with injuries for the remainder of the season.

The Brazilian has a contract until 2023, and is loved by Jürgen Klopp as a player. The negotiations are yet to begin and Liverpool will want to tie him down as soon as possible.

The price of GeForce Now membership has been doubled by NVIDIA

0

GeForce Now is now enjoying its second year of existence by increasing the price from $4.99 per month to $9.99 as of today. Those existing users who have signed up with the Founders membership scheme can continue on the original pricing plan. Still, the new members will only get the new Priority Membership option at a higher price.

Meanwhile, it hits 10 million members, and NVIDIA informs that it is trying to improve the quality of service for all the members, with some added capacity and two new data centres coming soon. Some improvements will also be added to get users in games faster, with account linking for key games and updates to pre-loading that should reduce the load times by half.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW gains Ubisoft's support but loses 4 major publishers

To keep it up-to-date, GeForce has now seen lots of updates with recent releases, and now there are near about 800 games supported by the service. Every week, 10 new games are added on average, and NVIDIA willing to increase this by 50% by the end of 2021.

The hike in price is very much in line with other streaming services; the most obvious one is Netflix, which has seen a few price bumps since it first shook up the TV scene. Although this one is a huge price increase, NVIDIA is going for in one move.

A gaming service of $5 that doesn’t feature downloading and works with so many games seems like the kind of throwaway deals that is worth having. The straight jump to $10 is just enough to make people stop and think whether it is still something worth having or not, especially as most of the users are paying for multiple services at the same time.

Barcelona lost €2m as Atletico Madrid failed to reach the Champions League quarter-finals

Atletico Madrid was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 by Premier League club Chelsea. Chelsea was very dominant in both the legs and didn’t concede a single goal in both the fixtures and won it by a 3-0 aggregate score.

Having been crashed out of the Champions League, Diego Simeone’s men will now focus on winning the La Liga title. They are currently on top with 63 points, followed by Barcelona and Real Madrid on 59 and 57 points respectively.

Atletico Madrid’s failure to reach the Champions League quarter-finals is a slight financial boon to Atletico but a financial blow to Barcelona as they lost €2m.

Barcelona sold Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid for €5m upfront and another €6m based on various performance-related pays. The three variables on which €6m depends are:

  1. €2m if Suarez plays 20 games for Atletico Madrid. [Barcelona has already got this amount.]
  2. €2m if Atletico Madrid reaches the quarter-finals of the Champions League. [Atletico has been knocked out by Chelsea, so Barcelona won’t receive this amount.]
  3. The €2m is based on Suarez’s performances next season.

So, until now, Barcelona has got €7m for Luis Suarez from Atletico Madrid and having lost €2m for failing to reach the quarter-finals, Suarez’s total transfer fee can now only go up to €9m, depending on his performances next season.
