Real Sociedad end their 33-year curse with Copa del Rey win

Real Sociedad wins their first major trophy in the last 34 years with Copa Del Rey win Real Sociedad won the final with a 1-0 scoreline against Athletic Bilbao.

It was the rescheduled 2020 final at the Estadio de La Cartuja between the two sides. Both teams have tried their best from the very first minute of the game. It was Mikel Oyarzabal for Real Sociedad who broke the deadlock at 63rd minute from the spot. It was the only difference between the side after 90 minutes.

After the match, Mikel Oyarzabal said, “It’s a beautiful day on which so many things come to your mind. Giving this victory to our fans was the best thing we could do.”

“There are many people who would like to have been here and there are many friends and family who left us in the worst possible way. This is for everyone, we felt their presence. There’s nothing like this feeling.”

Athletic Bilbao’s Oscar de Marcos described the loss as a massive blow. He said, “It’s very tough for us, this was a match we were so excited about and thought we could win.”

“It’s very painful whenever you lose a final, regardless of who you lose to. It’s a very sad day for us.”

However, David Silva, who joined Real Sociedad last summer from Manchester City, had made a record with this win as well. He won the FA Cup with Manchester City in his first season which was the club’s first trophy in 35 years. This time he is part of Real Sociedad’s first major trophy in 34 years.

Manchester United planning to let De Gea go to promote Henderson

0

According to a report by the Mirror, Manchester United are planning to release David De Gea from his contract at the end of the season. The main reason behind this stance is due to the fact that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to invest his trust in Dean Henderson as the undisputed number 1 for the Red Devils going forward.

De Gea has been Manchester United’s favoured man between the sticks for the majority of the last decade, and the 30-year-old’s time at the Old Trafford is possibly nearing completion this summer if the club can pay him a major chunk of his contract.

The Spaniard earns £350,000 per week, and will have two years of contract left with the club this summer. Hence, the amount that United will have to pay out to De Gea will surely be one that is sky-high to say the least.

De Gea has been prone to errors recently, much more than he has been during the majority of his career with Manchester United. Moreover, the emergence of Dean Henderson from his time at Sheffield United saw Manchester United rush to give him a new contract worth £100,000 a week, and that investment alone is an indication of their faith in the young Englishman.

Lastly, United will be hoping to be able to sell the player ideally, to have funds coming in rather than going out due to letting one of their key players go, but right now, no interested suitors have stepped up.

SMIC paid an incentive of $3 Million Housing Unit to its chief who was about to resign

According to recent sources, the co-chief executive officer of China’s Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) Dr. Liang Mong-Song, who earlier in December, threatened to resign from the company has decided to stay with SMIC.

With the company retaining its co-CEO, it has also bought the executive a $3.4 million “living quarter” for domestic living purposes. The company revealed the incentive in its latest annual report filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at the close of last month.

The incentive was a huge investment from the SMIC, and the gifted hosing quarter has made Dr. Liang’s, total compensation for the year $4.9 million, after being combined with his annual compensation of roughly $1.5 million. Additionally, Dr. Liang also received roughly 1 million SMIC shares in the form of options or restricted stock units.

All this was brought forth due to the appointment of Dr. Chiang appointment to SMIC’s board. His appointment had angered Dr. Liang who felt that the board’s decision to proceed with the appointment without informing him was disrespectful. In his letter, he announced his intention to resign once the appointment was made.

The duo has an estranged history with both being former TSMC employees and their opinions regarding SMIC’s future are also different. Dr. Liang believes that SMIC needs to focus on developing advanced chip manufacturing process nodes such as 7nm and 5nm, on the other hand, Dr. Chiang believes that the company needs to focus on scaling the production of mature processes such as the 14nm and 28nm nodes.

In its annual report, SMIC also stated that its 0.18μm process technology accounted for the bulk of its sales in 2020, but it lost some share to the 50/55 nm manufacturing node. The sales from the 28nm and 14nm nodes grew their contribution to 9% last year from the 4% they commanded in 2019.

Details of the process provided by SMIC state:

The development of the [NO TYPO] second-generation FinFET technology low-voltage process has been completed. Compared with the previous generation technology, the density of transistors per unit area is greatly improved. At present, risk production has been entered.

Dying Light 2 is Going to Be a Massive Open-World Title

0

Dying Light 2’s developer Techland has unveiled few details about the upcoming survival game. Maybe some players are familiar with the first title having a zombie-infested open world environment. The world of Dying Light 2 is much bigger and significantly deeper.

One point which keeps the original title aside from the other zombie shooters is the emphasis on parkour. Having the undead strong at night and weak at day, fans needed to make the choice between engaging or fleeing via the movement system.

The size of the open world in the sequel will be four times bigger than the one had in Dying Light. The developers at Techland are going to utilize the C-Engine to create unrestricted maps. As per a senior programmer, it’s not a huge obstacle to make huge open worlds.

The engine has a tool named CityBuilder, by which, user can draw an entire city map and generate it without having to lay down each and every wall. This tool automates these elements which basically takes a lot of time. The survival horror from Techland stands out for being a first-person shooter with excellent platforming due to the mobile gameplay. Now the developers get their freedom to make a unique world, the new game seems to live up to the original.

At this moment, fans will be still eagerly waiting for more after the March update for Dying Light 2. Now, it’s been six years passed the original game was released, and the new title was already delayed from the 2020 release.

Recently Dying Light 2 has been set to release in 2021 and will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Nvidia plans to increase the supply of its GTX 1650 graphics card

As we already know that, Graphics cards are currently in a shortage, and the world is facing an imminent shortage of cards. And it is being estimated that the crisis will be carried on to the mid of next year as well.

But, in recent news, NVIDIA is planning to fight back the crisis, by increasing the supply of one of its most popular graphics cards, the GeForce GTX 1650. Recent reports indicate that NVIDIA might be increasing the supply of its older Turing-based mainstream cards to tackle shortages in the gaming segment.

The chip crisis has especially been hard for gamers. Due to low supply, the retailers have increased the prices of the graphics cards and as such, the few available cards have already been procured by hungry crypto-miners. In multiple reports, it has been stated that the shortages will persist till the end of 2021 which leaves many without a high-end and proper gaming graphics card for the entirety of 2021.

A few months back, NVIDIA decided to increase the supply of its Turing-based GeForce RTX 2060 & the Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1050 series graphics cards to DIY and OEM segments to streamline things in the mainstream segment. This time the green teams are planning to introduce its Turing-based GeForce GTX 1650. NVIDIA plans to increase the supply of its card to meet the demand of several mainstream gamers.

According to sources, Nvidia is planning to increase the supply of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 this April and more Turing TU117 GPUs will enter the market by May 2021. The graphics features 896 CUDA cores, up to 1590 MHz clocks, and features 4 GB GDDR6 memory which operates at 12 Gbps across a 128-bit bus interface. The card features a TDP of 75W.

The GTX 1650 has also the second-highest graphics card share on the Steam hardware survey and is the 3rd most popular graphics card. The RTX 2060 and GTX 1050/1060 are also in the top five categories which makes sense for NVIDIA to increase their supply.

Juventus planning to delay salaries of players for four months after previous attempt saved £72 million

0

According to reports via Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have asked for their players to accept a four month delay in their salaries this year owing to the difficult financial conditions that plague all of football right now. The Serie A champions adopted the same strategy last time which managed to save them £72 million on their books at the end of the financial year.

Juventus have already recorded a heavy loss worth €113.7 million in the first half of the 20-21 financial year and until matchday revenue comes back through the return of fans to stadiums, the losses will continue to grow.

The investors of the club were the ones to reap the benefits the last time Juventus’ first team decided to delay their salaries and agree to the proposal put forward by the club. They were paid for the four months of the 19-20 season in 20-21, and that, in hindsight, has been profitable for the club.

While the proposal for a repeat of the same strategy has been put forth, it is unclear as to whether players will concede to the demands of the hierarchy this time around. If they do, it could help the club save some much needed money and help them invest the funds elsewhere.

There has also been speculation from Italy that the Juve players will not be willing to accept a pay-less quarter of a year again, and could look to leave the club in the summer. The club will reflect on this time at the end of the season and then take a decision regarding the finances.

Neymar to Barcelona: Speculations rise AGAIN

0

Remember the time that the Neymar to Barcelona reports were all that the media were talking about? That age-old rumour is back in the circle again, with multiple reports coming out of Spain indicating that talks with PSG have reached a deadlock and the Brazilian wants a return to Barcelona in the summer.

Neymar was vocal about his desire to play with Lionel Messi during the winter transfer window and early 2021, and this is what he had to say regarding the prospect of reuniting with La Pulga:

“What I want most is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again,” he said.

“He could play in my place. He won’t have any problems, I’m sure. I want to play with him again and I’m sure that, next season, we have to do it.”

However, considering the situation surrounding Lionel Messi and the possibility of leaving Barcelona at the end of the season, it was widely assumed that the reunion, if it were to happen, would take place at the French capital rather than Camp Nou.

Neymar was in talks with PSG regarding an extension of his contract up until a few months ago, and was apparently verg happy with the way things were with the club, having verbally agreed on an extension until 2025.

The main culprit behind the change of heart could be the fact that Joan Laporta can actually make Messi stay at Barcelona and Neymar’s actions are driven by the intentions of playing with Messi again rather than being committed to the project and the future in the works at PSG.
