Chelsea part ways with Thomas Tuchel after 1.5 years in charge

0

Chelsea have sacked head coach Thomas Tuchel after their 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb. The decision has been made official by the club on their social media accounts, and they are now working to find a replacement.

The Blues have not had a very positive start to the Premier League either, coming up short against Leeds United and Southampton. More concerning is their display on the pitch in all those games. They have not appeared convincing at all, and have not been able to recapture the form that they had when the German first took charge.

Thomas Tuchel sacked by Chelsea

The attack has been a major issue for the club over the last couple of years. On the other hand, their defense, which was once their best attribute, has now gone for a toss as well.

Chelsea’s unconvincing display last night, as well as some questionable decisions from Tuchel, could have contributed to the overall frustration. However, there could also have been something behind the scenes that could have led to the shocking dismissal.

Thomas Tuchel was recently rumoured to be in talks with Chelsea over a contract extension. And only days later, he has been removed as their head coach, which makes it all the more surprising.

Graham Potter is being rumoured as the frontrunner to replace the German. Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also seems to be in the race for the job.

MPL bolsters the player-first approach by launching the Bug Bounty program to enhance user security

Researchers who spot valid vulnerabilities on MPL can win payouts upto 10 lakhs

MPL, one of the world’s largest mobile and skill gaming platforms has launched a Bug Bounty program with the aim of strengthening the security of the users and continuing to provide a safe and fair gameplay environment. The program will reward security researchers upto INR 10 lakhs for successfully identifying a valid vulnerability on MPL. This is open to researchers globally and reports that address valid security vulnerabilities that are within the scope of the program will be eligible for the rewards and recognitions.

With the Bug Bounty program, MPL will not just focus on identifying security vulnerabilities but will also make targeted efforts in devising a timely resolution to tackle them. This initiative is aligned with the company’s player-first approach that considers the safety and security of the users as its topmost priority.

Interestingly, the MPL Bug Bounty program does not restrict its scope to just identifying security loopholes but also allows researchers to report any possibility of fraud that can give a player an unfair advantage. The program encourages reports on instances that can enable a player to compromise with the gameplay or the outcomes, like winning a game without playing, altering the gameplay or even posting outrageous scores. Along with this, reporting any vulnerability that can target the users on the platform, like taking over user accounts or dumping user data also falls within the scope of the program.

Commenting on the Program, Ruchir Patwa, VP Security and Compliance, MPL, said, “At MPL we are always committed to the player-first approach and the Bug Bounty program has been launched to continue our efforts towards enhancing the user security and safe playing experience on our platform. With this, we also intend to reward and recognize some of the good samaritans of the gaming fraternity. We look forward to some great collaborations with researchers across the globe and continue to create the best gaming experiences for all our users”.

MPL will also recognize the contribution of the researchers who have submitted the most insightful reports by featuring them in the Bug Bounty Hall of fame page. This will be a great step to recognize researchers from across the globe for demonstrating their dedication to the program. Visit the MPL Bug Bounty Program page for more information on the eligibility and scope of the program.

Carlos Pena has chosen Brandon Fernandes as FC Goa captain

Sergio Lobera and Juan Ferrando, the two Spanish coaches at FC Goa since 2017, used the tried-and-tested system, but Carlos Pena has dared to be different. He chose the captain himself, and his vote was for Brandon Fernandes, now into his sixth season at the club.

Fernandes got married two months back and his appointment as captain of FC Goa could not have been a better wedding gift. “Marriage has made difference to my personal life, but it has not affected my focus on football,” said Brandon.

Brandon to lead FC Goa

Brandon was the first player from Goa to go for trials in Europe – though he did so despite nursing an injury- and was also the first to have signed for a club in South Africa. He believes Europe is his football destination and therefore thinks the role of captaincy was given to him at the right time.

He plays different roles when asked by different coaches but breaking defences with splitting passes and leaving goalkeepers bewildered with his free kicks have come to be his specialities when with his team or representing his country.

His career started taking shape with Derrick, then he passed through Sergio Lobera, Juan Ferrando, Igor Stimac and now his former teammate Carlos Pena. Brandon was picked up for a song by FC Goa during the players’ draft before the 2017 -2018 season by Derrick Pereira and has since – despite injuries – expressed his love for the game.

Carlos Pena has chosen Brandon as FC Goa captain

“Captaincy is just another responsibility, one that will make me focus on getting all the boys on the same page for winning titles. Enjoying the game is one thing, seeing fans enjoy the team win is another,” Brandon said.

“I’m very happy for Brandon because he has the credit of his teammates, people working in the club and all the fans,” said Pena. “He is a good example of loyalty and commitment and is a wonderful individual, both on and off the pitch.” Brandon, one of the club’s long-serving players, will head a four-man captaincy group that includes Seriton Fernandes, Glan Martins and Spaniard Marc Valiente.
