RB Leipzig confirm Max Eberl as new sporting director

RB Leipzig have confirmed the arrival of Max Eberl as their new sporting director. He will start his role in December, potentially once the World Cup has been played to completion. His official presentation will take place at a press conference in the middle of December, when he will start his role. 

He will be working alongside Oliver Mintzlaff (Chairman), Florian Hopp (Finance / CFO) and Johann Plenge (Corporate Development / CSO).

“Using and developing this potential is an incredibly attractive task for me. He previously worked for Borussia Monchengladbach and helped develop them into challengers for European spots, from once being a low level team.

Barcelona report €98 million profit for 21/22 with boost for coming season

Barcelona have announced their new spending limits of the season, and have reported a profit of €98 million for the 21/22 season. They are projecting a profit worth €271 million in the coming season that will ease their financial problems to some degree. 

The sale of their assets was the main reason behind the income. They sold 10% of the club’s domestic TV rights for the next 25 years, as well as 15% of their La Liga TV rights, 49% of Barca Studios and their merchandising branch which has allowed them to make a profit for the first time since the pandemic. 

Barcelona expecting more profits for the coming season

“Barcelona’s limit is [up to] €656m and they needed this full amount, that’s why they were still registering players at the last minute,” LaLiga president Javier Tebas said at the presentation of the spending limits this month.

“Without the [sale of assets], it may not be so high next season. They may have to reduce their wage bill, sell players or even [sell more] assets. I think [Barca’s vice president Eduard] Romeu has said they need it to be at around €400 and something million. But they know all about this, it will be difficult for them to maintain [the new limit] next season.”

The club spent over €150 million on registering new signings this summer, and will now be looking to achieve financial stability before buying back their assets.

Fabio Cannavaro to become new Benevento manager soon

Fabio Cannavaro is set to return to management soon. The former Guangzhou Evergrande coach will be taking charge of Benevento in the Italian second division – Serie B.

The former Ballon d’Or award winner has been without a job since last September, when he left the Chinese club. His time with them was fairly successful, averaging 2.06 points per game, and winning the Chinese Super League title and a Chinese Super Cup.

Fabio Cannavaro to manage Benevento soon 

The Italian could sign the contract to officially become the new Benevento manager later today. The team is currently in 13th place, and after a disappointing start to their first six games, they have decided to replace Fabio Caserta. 

Fabio Cannavaro’s former Inter Milan teammate Daniele De Rossi was also in line to take the job. However, he has won the race to become the new manager of the club. Cannavaro briefly managed the Chinese national team as well, and this will be his first experience in management in his home country. 

The 49-year-old is regarded as one of the greatest centre-backs of his generations, and remains one of the few players to win the Ballon d’Or as a defender. The legend is now taking on a new challenge in management, which could eventually lead to a higher level if he performs well.

Luis Suarez leaves Nacional after 10 appearances

Luis Suarez has left Uruguayan club Nacional after making only ten appearances with them. The player joined at the end of the European season, when his contract with Atletico Madrid expired.

He scored four goals and provided three assists during his time at the club, and will now be available on a free transfer. The decision has been confirmed by Nacional president Jose Fuentes as well.

“The season is over and Luis Suarez is leaving,” Fuentes said to Punto Penal. “I’m not going to create any false hope.

“Suarez made a real effort to come to Nacional and, every time I’m asked, I say this so as not to create any expectations. But he’s leaving.”

With the World Cup to be played in November, Suarez will have to keep himself for the next few months. Given he is 35, it will probably be his last time at the tournament. He is available as a free agent at the time, and can sign for a new club, but a return to Europe could be unlikely considering that he is back in his home country as of right now.

There’s a triple camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide unit, and a 5MP macro snapper. While the front of the phones nests a 12MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

It runs on Android 12 and the company has promised two OS upgrades and up to 2 years of security updates. The ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate are 5G handsets that also support Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, and NFC connectivity. They also feature a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Asus ROG Phone 6D series comes in a single Space Gray color option. It will retail at the following price tags in the UK in the coming weeks. The Asus ROG Phone 6D with AURA RGB lighting pricing starts from EUR 949 (roughly Rs. 75,500), and the handset will offer up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. The company is yet to disclose the price in other markets. However, it has been confirmed that these two handsets will not be sold in North America.

The Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate comes with the same design as the ROG Phone 6 and the Phone 6 Pro and features a secondary display at the back. The difference is the new Space Grey matte finish. The main display is rated at 6.78-inch. It has the Samsung AMOLED panel, support for a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. There’s also support for Delta-E < 1 color accuracy, HDR10+, and DC Dimming. The 2-inch OLED matrix color display can show various animations and alerts too.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel (f/1.9) primary camera; a 13-megapixel (ultra wide-angle) camera, and a 5-megapixel (macro) camera. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 12-megapixel sensor.

The Dimensity 9000+ chipset makes way for the MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0. it is based on Android 12 and packs 512GB of inbuilt storage. A 6,000mAh battery is there with support for PD Charging and a 65W adaptor. The phone comes with AirTrigger 6 with ultrasonic sensors and various gestures. The X-axis linear motor allows for up to a 130 Hz vibration frequency for an enhanced gaming experience. The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate also supports the all-new 360-degree CPU Cooling tech.
