All India Gaming Federation lauds Government’s move for bringing Online Gaming under Central Information Technology Act

0

Minister of State for Information Technology and Electronics, Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar recently said that the government will soon come up with rules to regulate online gaming intermediaries and start public consultation on the matter.  Through these rules, the government will ensure that there are no illegal content and services while encouraging technology innovations.

The minister’s comments was followed by the appointment of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) as the nodal ministry for regulating online gaming and intermediaries.

Lauding this move, Mr. Roland Landers, CEO, All India Gaming Federation, said, “As the oldest, largest, and most diverse industry body for online gaming, which had set up the first Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) for the sector in India, we welcome the release of the amendments to Intermediary Guidelines Rules, which will now specifically also cover gaming intermediaries. We are grateful to the Government for acknowledging the long-standing need of the gamers and the online gaming industry.”

We believe this is a great first step for comprehensive regulation for online gaming and will hopefully reduce the state-wise regulatory fragmentation that was a big challenge for the industry. These rules will go a long way in ensuring consumer interest while helping the industry grow responsibly and transparently. These rules will also be a start in curbing the menace of anti-national and illegal offshore gambling platforms.”

All India Gaming Federation lauds Government’s move for bringing Online Gaming under Central Information Technology Act

President Droupadi Murmu has signed a notification to amend Allocation of Business (AOB) Rules to place online gaming under the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (MeitY). The allocation of a nodal ministry for the sector has resolved a long-standing debate on considering gaming platforms as intermediaries or publishers. MeitY, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs were considered to be key contenders to govern the sector.

“We are especially grateful that the Government has heard the industry and provided light-touch regulation, which will help in innovation and will boost Create in India and Brand India. We look forward to continuing the work we have been undertaking at the All-India Skill Games Council (AIGSC), the oldest and largest self-regulatory body for online gaming. The Government has maintained a very open and transparent approach, and we look forward to engaging further during the consultation period. AIGF is duty bound to provide utmost support to the government in making this sector a cornerstone of $1 trillion Digital Indian economy.” Mr. Landers added.

Al Nassr wants to sign Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric after signing Cristiano Ronaldo

Now, Al Nassr wants to sign the Spanish legend Sergio Ramos and also the Croatian captain and legend Luka Modric.

Sergio Ramos might join Al Nassr as his performance has reduced in PSG and also he is 36 years old. According to Marca, Saudi Arabia and the United States have given highly lucrative deals to Modric but, he has rejected all of them.

Now also Luka Modric has the ability to help win Real Madrid the La Liga title and the Champions League at this age. When the two teams approached him and his responses were crystal clear: “Let’s talk in 2024”.

So in the next year, we might see the three Real Madrid legends playing on the same side as Cristiano Ronaldo has already joined and they are also targeting Ramos this year, he might accept the deal because his performance has been reduced in PSG and Modric in 2024.

India’s biggest struggle to qualify for the WTC finale race will be to defeat Australia in the upcoming Test series

After India defeated Bangladesh in the Test series, the hopes of qualifying for the Wolrd test Championship are still alive. However, the biggest threat for Rohit Sharma and Co. is the Australian team. In order to be alive in this race they have to beat or draw the Test series.

How can India qualify for the World Test Championship finale?

If India wins all four test matches against Australia, they will make their PCT tally to 68.05. If they manage to win only three games their tally will be 62.5 which is higher than that of South Africa and Sri Lanka even if they win all their matches. If it’s a draw, India’s PCt will be 56.94 and in this scenario, South Africa will have to defeat Australia in the third Test and whitewash West Indies 2-0.

Australia is at the No.1 position of the WTC ranking table, with one left to South Africa and four with India. If they manage to win all five matches their PCT will become 84.21.

They are at a strong position, even if they lose the series with India 0-1 and beats South Africa in the third and final Test their PCT will become 68.42. Losing the series with India by 2-0 will keep them in this race alive with a PCT of 66.66.

The Sri Lankan team has a high chance of making s debut in the World Test Championship Finale even without playing a single test match.

The island nation will have to win all the games till next year’s finale to feature in the WTC finale. They have one series against New Zealand in March though they have a very poor record on New Zealand’s soil. Out of 19 attempts, they could win only two series there.

If Sri Lanka wins all their matches there, the PTC will increase to 61.1%. They’ll try to get to second place in the points table, only in the Aussies win all their games.

The Recruit Season 2: Netflix confirms Estimated Release Date & here’s All You Need to Know

Netflix’s most-awaited political crime thriller The Recruit Season 2 is now released across the World. We have to wait to see how much the second season becomes popular among the audience. Now, the new series has featured Noah Centineo, the new series sees him playing the role of Owen Hendricks, a lawyer who is thrust into a conspiracy plot involving the CIA.

Recently, All eight episodes touched down on Netflix just on 26th December 2022 The texture of the show is really amazing with Alexi Hawley known best for making hits on network television, containing the castle, The Tookie, The Following, and Body of Proof.

The Recruit Season 2: Renewal Status

This is just the first weekend, it’s a little too early to know whether we will have The Recruit Season 2 or not. As you may know, Netflix doesn’t publicly announce the criteria by which its series get renewed or cancelled, but there’s plenty of evidence out there on what metrics help renewal choices.

If you’re enjoying the show and want to get it renewed, the best chances of that happening are by you watching all the way to the end and then encouraging others to do the same.

Has any of the cast or crew talked about The Recruit Season 2 thus far? Alexi Crawley has implied that conversations have taken place or at least, a blueprint is there. All eight episodes touched down on Netflix on December 16th, 2022.

Recruit

Hawley talked about his attitude going into season 1, by telling:

“I know things about where I would want to take it, and where I’d want to go with it. I mean obviously, you hope for success, but as you could see with that ending, I didn’t plan for failure because I feel like in this day and age you just have to be bold, you have to be dramatic, to the expense of everything else. And you can’t worry about Season 2’s, or Season 3’s, or beyond. You have to go, “What’s the best version of this story right now?” And trust that people will come to it. And then you’ll get another shot at it.”

The Recruit: Review

Let’s break down the review scores for the show thus far :

  • IMDb User Score: 7.6
  • RottenTomatoes Critics Score: 75%
  • RottenTomatoes Audience Score: 87%
  • Metacritic: 60/100

It’s fair to say that reviews for The Recruit have surpassed expectations (at least that I had personally) in that it’s attracting the same kind of audience that made Crawley’s network shows popular.

If we draw a comparison with the other shows, then the Lincoln Lawyer along with two other big hits for Netflix in 2022 in The Watcher and The Sandman. After taking an eye on CVE, we can watch how well the show is on the opening weekend with such other debuts in 2022.

The red mark indicates the cancellation of the show, and the green means renewed show. Netflix will just drop the official view hour stats for the show. The first opportunity to unveil the numbers like 20th December 2022.

According to TelevisionStats.com, the show had a huge rise after its addition to Netflix, coming from nowhere in the runup to its release. Thus far, the show has peaked as the fourth biggest show in the world, according to their data. They pull data from external sources such as Twitter, Wikipedia, Google, and Reddit.

There is only one shows more popular than The Recruit at the time of publishing like the White Lotus at HBO, Wednesday on Netflix, 1923 at Paramount+, along with Yellowstone at Paramount Networks.

The Recruit Season 2: Expectations

In episode 8, titled W.T.F.I.O.H., the mission to get Max home to Russia continues, and just as things seem to be coming to a close, complications arise. It also saw the clashing of Owen’s personal and professional life. Season 1 concludes with a big twist; Karolina shoots Max but is she dead? That will undoubtedly be the cornerstone question that gets answered in The Recruit Season 2

The ending then sees Owen reaching out to Hannah to meet up abroad which concludes the series.

The RadioTimes explains that we’ll see the return of Noah Centineo in a second season as well as Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, and Fivel Stewart. They also predict the same as us in the sense that “Owen Hendricks would be thrown into another high-stakes mission, although this time he could be somewhat more prepared for the experience.”

OYO delays its IPO with SEBI requesting additional info on risk factors

0

A startup in hospitality technology, Oravel Stays, or OYO, which planned to go public in the first half of 2023, would postpone the IPO by a quarter. According to the report, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has written back to the company, requesting that it update additional sections of its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), such as updated risk factors, key performance indicators (KPIs), outstanding litigations, valuation basis, and so on.

“This would delay OYO’s proposed IPO plan by around three months as the exercise of updating the DRHP and updated filings would consume the additional time,” the source said. The Ritesh Agarwal-led company is also required to “provide any latest disclosures at the appropriate pre-IPO stage”.

The revised information will also adjust the offer price’s foundation and other sections of the DRHP. The processing time for gathering new material and submitting it will take at least a quarter, delaying the stock market debut.

After a difficult two years due to the COVID-19 outbreak, OYO relaunched its stock market plans this year.

The company filed an update to its DRHP in September, revealing its financials for FY20, FY21, and FY22. The company recently announced its financial results for the current fiscal year, which showed that revenues in the first half of FY23 increased by 24% to Rs 2,905 crore. OYO also recorded a 69% increase in gross booking values (GBV). GBV is the monthly revenue earned by the corporation per hotel.

However, in the second quarter of FY23, the tech start-up reported a net loss of Rs 333 crore. Agarwal created OYO in 2012. Microsoft, SoftBank Vision Fund, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital India, and others have invested in OYO.

Tata Motors has now finally climbed back to its 2nd position in India’s Auto Industry

Tata now offers a variety of items at various price ranges to cater to a varied group of clients. These items, when combined, provide some benefits and increase the company’s appeal. Tata has struck while the hammer is hot in recent years, rather than behind as in prior years, as the market has been redefined.

Along the way, they have continuously tracked the success of new cars and provided a wide choice of versions. Over time, the automaker did abandon all of its cars that were underperforming in terms of sales.

Tata Motors recorded sales of 40,043 vehicles in December 2022, up from 35,299 units the previous year. Volume increased by 4,744 units, representing a 13.44 per cent increase. MoM sales declined 13% from 46,037 units to 46,037 units. Volume loss was approximately 6k units.

Tata Motors regained second place in the Indian automotive sector in December 2022, surpassing Hyundai, which posted sales of 38,831 vehicles.

The third quarter of 2022 was the best of the four, with 1,42,331 units sold, up from 83,930. The volume gain was 58,401 units, representing a 70% increase. Sales in the second quarter increased from 1,82,935 to 2,73,634 units. Volume growth in the last six months was reported at 90,699 units, representing a 50% increase. Sales increased to 1,31,303 units in Q4 from 99k in Q3. Growth was reported to be 32.62 per cent, with a volume gain of 32.3 thousand units.

H1 sales increased from 1,48,246 to 2,53,185 units. Volume increased by 71 per cent to 1,04,939 units. Q2 sales in 2022 were the highest of the first two quarters, at 1,30,130 units. The volume gain was 65,743 units, up from 64,387 units sold in the second quarter of 2021.

Sales in the first quarter increased from 83,859 to 1,23,055 units. The volume gain was 39,196 units. Sales in 2022 are expected to reach 5,26,819 units, up from 3,31,181 in 2018. Volume increased by 59 per cent, falling just short of 2 lakh units.

The auto industry does not work miracles overnight. Several things influence success in this situation. Among them is the provision of appropriate vehicles across segments to ensure that there is something for everyone. This begins with determining the needs and preferences of the customer. Tata Motors reported a significant drop in sales a decade ago. From then to now, the company has made tremendous strides toward offering a broader selection of modern vehicles.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “For Tata Motors passenger vehicles, CY22 has been a momentous year as we outpaced industry growth and crossed the distinctive milestone of 5 lakh units comfortably to post wholesale of 526,798 units. Tata Motors PV posted the highest ever quarterly and monthly retails in Q3FY23 and Dec’22, respectively. We also crossed the coveted 50,000 units of monthly retail for the first time.”

TSMC customers reduce their Orders due to economy slowdown

TSMC was almost impervious to the deteriorating high-tech industry in Q2 and Q3, but the party appears to be over even for the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer. According to DigiTimes, TSMC’s top clients have begun to adjust their orders to the company, impacting the foundry’s earnings beginning in the fourth quarter of 2022.

According to the research, practically all TSMC clients will experience a downturn and will be forced to cancel orders, resulting in a major decrease in TSMC utilisation in Q1 2023. For example, in early 2023, the utilisation rate of TSMC’s N7-capable lines (7nm, 6nm-class technologies) will be around 50%. Furthermore, TSMC’s N5/N4-capable lines will be underutilised, which is not surprising given that these are used to create cutting-edge goods, such as Apple’s smartphone SoCs, and demand for advanced handsets is typically lower in the first part of the year. Worryingly, even N28-capable fabs, which have been fully loaded since the start of the chip shortage in early 2021, will remain underutilised.

Large computer hardware, PC, and smartphone makers reduced their procurement of new chips from companies such as AMD, Intel, MediaTek, and Nvidia due to China’s slowing economy and COVID lockdowns, an economic downturn in numerous European countries, and reduced demand for many products in the United States.

TSMC
credit: tomshardware

Fabless chip designers were reportedly forced to reduce orders to TSMC.

The order reduction will take effect in Q4 2022, increasing TSMC’s inventory; however, it is unknown how the considerably lower orders would influence the company’s revenue this quarter. Meanwhile, DigiTimes predicts that TSMC’s Q1 2023 sales will fall 15% year on year. TSMC’s Q1 2022 revenue, on the other hand, topped its Q4 2021 revenue by 12.1%.

Cutting orders to a contract manufacturer is not easy because fabless chip designers are required to purchase a particular number of wafers in certain quarters. Nonetheless, TSMC is reportedly willing to accept compensation (by holding wafers with chips from AMD, Intel, Nvidia, and others until they are ready to buy them) and even renegotiate long-term supply contracts (i.e., increase the number of wafers that a company is committed to buying in the future). However, such actions will not make TSMC’s life any easier in Q4 2022 or Q2 2023.

Market experts are largely positive about advanced chip demand returning to normal in 2023. As a result, while TSMC is still predicted to report revenue growth for the year, sales growth may be less impressive than in 2021-2022.

Here are all the exciting games coming on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation in January 2023

0

Keeping up with the latest video games is becoming increasingly difficult, with various PC shops, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, mobile, and more to keep track of. Normally, January is a slow month as the business recovers from the holiday season, but the first month of 2023 is proving to be rather hot.

Players can anticipate the next big Square Enix RPG, Forspoken, as well as the Dead Space remake, Fire Emblem Engage, and other titles. Meanwhile, on the indie front, there’s SimRail: The Railway Simulator, the moody Season: A Letter to the Future, and more.

Fire Emblem Engage (Switch, Jan. 20)

In January, Nintendo’s Fire Emblem franchise will return with something new. The colorful anime presentation and more traditional JRPG premise of Fire Emblem Engage have been rather contentious, but its new Engage system, which allows you to partner units with the spirits of fans-

favorite characters from the past like Marth, Ike, and Lyn, undoubtedly show potential.

Forspoken (PC & PS5, Jan. 24)

Forspoken, from Final Fantasy XV creator Luminous Productions, aims to give the JRPG format a kick in the pants. Frey, the game’s protagonist, feels more real than other JRPG heroes, and the parkour traversal system promises to make exploration more dynamic and demanding. It remains to be seen whether Forspoken’s initiatives are successful, but it’s wonderful to see a JPEG branching out.

Dead Space (PC, Xbox Series X/S & PS5, Jan. 27)

The Callisto Protocol was not the Dead Space sequel that many hoped for, but don’t worry, Dead Space returns in January. The new Dead Space, developed by EA Motive, is more than just a visual upgrade; it also improves and modernizes the horror classic in numerous ways. A revamped seamless map, additional dynamic horror occurrences, more nasty scripted moments, and other changes are on the way.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake (PC, Xbox One, PS4 & Switch, Jan. 31)

THQ Nordic’s adaptation of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was a smash hit, so developer Purple Lamp Studios is back with an all-new SpongeBob adventure. In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, our porous hero jumps between different themed planets while dressed up in some amusing costumes. This one appears to be an above-average mascot platformer, which is fortunate because your kids will force you to buy it regardless.

Full List of Games Worth Watching in January:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU Specs leaks Online

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs’ performance benchmarks and specifications have leaked. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs should come as no surprise, and what’s new is that the RTX 4090’s specifications have been confirmed by Geekbench 5, while the RTX 4060 has been benchmarked within 3DMark.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU was discovered in an ‘X370SNx’ laptop equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU and 32 GB of DDR5 memory. The laptop is outfitted with NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, which has the same core specifications as the RTX 4080 (16 GB) Desktop CPU.

There are 76 SM units for a total of 9728 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, and a claimed maximum frequency of 2040 MHz, which should be roughly 500 MHz slower than the boost rates for the desktop RTX 4080 graphics card, which uses the same AD103 GPU. This corresponds to our exclusive information, which stated that the identical chip had a base speed of 1.59 GHz and a boosted rate of 2.04 GHz.

NVIDIA
credit: wccftech

This equates to approximately 40 TFLOPs of compute horsepower, which is the same as the RTX 3090 Ti desktop graphics card. The GPU will now have a 150W TGP as well as an additional 25W Dynamic Boost power. Performance measurements will also differ depending on the laptop design, so we could see even higher performance estimates on higher-end laptop designs.

In the Geekbench 5 OpenCL benchmark, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU earned 210290 points, putting it ahead of the RTX 3090 and within striking distance of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card.

This is an excellent performance for a laptop GPU, outperforming the fastest graphics cards from the previous generation in a portable form. In addition, the RTX 4090 Laptop GPU is 18% quicker than the RTX 4080 Laptop GPU.

NVIDIA
credit: wccftech

The second leak concerns the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, which should be a popular mainstream GPU in the mobility category. The GPU will use the AD107 GPU and will have 8 GB of GDDR6 memory spread across a 128-bit bus interface. The graphics chip is expected to have a TGP of 85-140W.

ITHome obtained an alleged screenshot of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, which was found in a locally made ThunderRobot laptop. In terms of performance, the GPU achieved 10050 points on the 3DMark Time Spy Graphics bench, making it faster than the RTX 3060 Desktop GPU. It is also 20% faster than the RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, which has a bigger memory bus, but we can’t determine if this is the best or worst-case scenario for performance because the TGP isn’t specified.
