AMD has officially released the specifications for their Instinct MI300 ‘CDNA 3’ accelerator, which uses Zen 4 CPU cores in a 5nm 3D chiplet container. The most recent AMD Instinct MI300 accelerator specifications show that this exascale APU will be a monster of a chiplet design. The CPU will be made up of many 5nm 3D chiplet packages, totalling 146 billion transistors.
Among those transistors are numerous core IPs, memory interfaces, interconnects, and other components. The CDNA 3 architecture is the foundation of the Instinct MI300, but the APU also includes 24 Zen 4 Data Center CPU cores and 128 GB of next-generation HBM3 memory running in an 8192-bit wide bus configuration, which is simply mind-blowing.

During the AMD Financial Day 2022, the company confirmed that the MI300 will be a multi-chip and multi-IP Instinct accelerator that includes not only the next-generation CDNA 3 GPU cores but also the next-generation Zen 4 CPU cores.
To enable greater than 2 exaflops of double precision processing power, the U.S. Department of Energy, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and HPE have teamed up with AMD to design El Capitan, expected to be the world’s fastest supercomputer with delivery anticipated in early 2023. El Capitan will leverage next generation products that incorporate improvements from the custom processor design in Frontier.

In the most recent performance tests, AMD demonstrated that the Instinct Mi300 outperforms the Instinct MI250X by 8x in AI performance (TFLOPs) and 5x in AI performance per watt (TFLOPs/watt).
AMD’s Instinct MI300 ‘CDNA 3’ APUs will be manufactured on both 5nm and 6nm manufacturing nodes. The chip will include the next version of Infinity Cache as well as the 4th Generation Infinity architecture, which will enable CXL 3.0 ecosystem support. The Instinct MI300 accelerator will include a unified memory APU architecture and new Math Formats, allowing for a tremendous 5x performance per watt increase over CDNA 2.
AMD also predicts that the AI performance will be more than 8 times that of the CDNA 2-based Instinct MI250X accelerators. The UMAA on the CDNA 3 GPU will connect the CPU and GPU to a unified HBM memory package, reducing redundant memory copies and delivering reduced TCO.
And despite interest from other clubs in the Netherlands, the veteran has completed a surprise move to Bavaria. He is expected to cover for the injured Lucas Hernandez, and has signed a deal until the end of the 22/23 season. A potential extension will be discussed at the end of the campaign based on how he performs.

For the upcoming sequel, Cronin is invoking the Deadites to the big city instead of confining evil to a cabin in the woods. The story seems to be more personal, like the Deadites will possess Ellie, a single mother of three children. Now, comes to her sister, Beth to get a way to defeat evil. The beginning scene of the Evil Dead Rise trailer has promised the sequel is a family affair, with Beth shielding her three nieces and nephews from the dark vision of a possessed Ellie.
In Evil Dead Rise, Ellie is not the only victim of the Deadites. The new trailer has teased the dark forces will spread through the whole family. For instance, we are going to get a small glimpse of Ellie’s youngest daughter cutting a doll’s head off with scissors, a scene with a lot of Ari Aster’s Hereditary vibes. It seems like the middle child of Ellie has also turned into a Deadite, contorting their limbs in an unnatural direction on top of the kitchen counter.
The Necronomicon Is the Culprit
The new trailer for Evil Dead Rise unveils the new Deadite breakout. As expected, the culprit is the Necronomicon, a cursed book made from human skin and written with human blood. The book fills all sorts of evil spells, containing the ones that can open gateways to hell and bring demons into the Earth.
The Book of the Dead is not just the only relic Beth will find when visiting her sister. Additionally, Beth is set to gain the access to an old record that apparently contains Professor Knowby’s Necronomicon rites. In Evil Dead lore, Professor Knowby is the scholar responsible for recording the rite used to release the Kandarian Demon, the entity responsible for turning people into Deadites. The new trailer exposes the professor’s dark magic words, that inadvertently brought a demon to Earth. One of these words is “Kandar,” a keyword that was uttered several times in every iteration of the franchise.
The Cabin in the Woods
The Evil Dead Rise happens in an apartment in a big city. The story will take you to the flashback, or the film will twist and turn unexpectedly. We are glad to see Evil Dead Rise homaging the place where the franchise came to life.
In the few flashes, we can get from the location, that’s already seen a Deadite ripping a woman’s scalp and marching to the lake nearby.
In the cabin in the woods section of the trailer, we also see a Deadite floating over the water. That’s a new power for the franchise’s monsters, and it underlines how Cronin is not afraid to put his own spin on the lore.
Everything Is a Weapon
When Necronomicon and the Deadites become the classic evildoers in Evil Dead lore, the fun of the movies and TV shows belongs to the tradition that turns everything into a weapon. Sometimes it’s the hero who uses whatever they can find to fight evil, while other times, the Deadites get creative to take down their victims. In Evil Dead Rise, it seems like Ellie will use a tattoo machine to stab someone in the eye.
This is another fact that eye perforations are always unnerving, the most painful moment of the trailer is, without a doubt, when Beth loses some skin to a Deadite with a cheese grater. Naysayers who felt the sequel wouldn’t honor the franchise’s roots just got a bloody confirmation they are wrong.
A New Hero Stands Out
The Evil Dead hero really needs one hero, Bruce Campbell played Ash William. In the 2013’s movie, Jane Levy played Mia. This is the time for Beth to take over the mantle of Deadite-slayer. While there is a new hero, that nods to the original trilogy by showing Beth running in a hallway, covered in blood, with her eyes wide open in madness.
Beth is not the only blood-soaked survivor in the trailer, as it looks like Ellie’s youngest daughter will also be one of the last people standing. Maybe Evil Dead Rise can kickstart a new golden era for the franchise by making Deadite-hunting a family legacy.
The Evil Dead Rises
Beth may face many evil creatures in this sequel, the star of the monstrous show is Ellie. The Deadite uses her body to explore her motherly nature to trick her children into letting her in, which is obviously a mistake.
At a certain point in the trailer, Ellie’s voice has changed. The Kandarian demon tells the woman is with the maggots now. After taking over a body, now the Deadites have teased that person’s loved ones, spilled profanities, and underlined how there’s no hope of recovery. That’s what makes Deadites so interesting, as they are the perfect mix of zombies and possessed people.
At the time, a person turns into a Deadite, they become stronger, faster, more resilient, and can even climb walls. At the end of the trailer, we can see Ellie in all her supernatural form. We can’t wait to watch Evil Dead Rise in theaters and see her unleash her full power.

Evil Dead Rise might be homaging other great horror movies. For instance, we are going to get a small glimpse of a room filled with crucifixes that take our minds to The Conjuring 2. The composition of the crucifixes is not the same, the blue light that revolves around the scene looks a lot like James Wan’s classic.
