Troll: Everything We Know About the Norwegian Survival drama film

Netflix unveils the new trailer of the Norwegian fantasy action film, ‘Troll‘ The story inspired by local folklore, Troll depicts an epic tale of human survival in the face of such giant odds. While a mythical troll reawakens after the 1000-year slumber a full cast of diverse characters set to figure out a way to believe it, survive it, and almost foolishly, combat for it.

Troll

The new trailer has not directly unveiled the source of the devastation. For the first few seconds might be reminded the viewers of Roland Emmerich’s classic disaster movies, as we can see the destruction that the troll set to leave in the wake. After the archeologist Nora Tidemann become appointed as a special advisor for the desperate Prime Minister, the tale starts to take a form.

Nora says, “Something came out of the mountain,” we can see an overhead shot of her walking across a massive footprint the size of an Olympic size swimming pool when “In the Gall of the Mountain King” playing in the background. We have a piece of music perfectly unlocks the vibe of the trailer that has been forbidding as quite playful.

The large-scale action reminiscent of the MonsterVerse films, collaborated with some light-hearted banter in between creature design, teases such a Kaiju film that seems like an awful lot of fun. Uthaug depicts the epic Norwegian disaster film The Wave, but American audiences might know of him as the director of 2018’s Tomb Raider reboot.

Troll is like a big comeback for Uthaug, and not only just he is back working in his home country after a brief Hollywood detour. The Ominous tone, the widescreen vistas of the landscape, along with the ensemble approach that we can watch some glimpses of in the trailer are very reminiscent of The Wave. Now, the natural disaster of the film has been replaced with a more fantastical one this time around, as the original Godzilla.

Troll: Cast

The film features Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim S. Falck-Jorgensen, Mads Sjogard Petterson, and Gard B. Eldsvold.

Troll: Release Date

The Norwegian film will hit Netflix on 1st December 2022.

Here is the trailer:

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT – Worth buying after 2 years at half price?

GPU buyers these days have a lot of options to go for thanks to the wider availability of GPUs and below MSRP prices which have urged buyers to go for a new graphics card in 2022. The price of both RTX 30-series and AMD Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs have fallen considerably from what it was a year back.

While the NVIDIA GPU prices are still on a higher note but AMD GPU prices have fallen a lot in the last few months and some GPUs are available at half the prices of what they were sold a year ago. The RX 6600 XTs and RX 6700 XTs are already available at budget prices and the best part is the RX 6800 XT which was once deemed as a flagship is being sold in the Rs.50k to Rs.60k price bracket.

Should you buy an old RX 6800 XT flagship GPU at half price now?

This makes things much more interesting because essentially you can get a flagship GPU at mid-range pricing and that too a custom OC GPU. Yes, don’t believe me? Head over to Vedant Computers who are selling the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT OC GPU for ₹56,999 and Amazon India where the ASUS TUF Gaming RX 6800 XT OC Edition GPU for ₹59,990.

Even an RTX 3080 will cost you much more and considering all this buying an RX 6800 XT OC is a much better option to go for in 2022 if you are not into mining. Taking all this into consideration I finally bought the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT OC for my own AMD rig which already has a Ryzen 7 5800X to pair with.

Should you buy an old RX 6800 XT flagship GPU at half price now?

GIGABYTE AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC Specifications

  • Powered by RDNA2 Radeon RX 6800 XT and Integrated with 16GB GDDR6 256-bit memory interface
  • Boost Clock: up to 2285 MHz (Reference card: 2250 MHz) Game Clock*: up to 2045 MHz (Reference card: 2015 MHz)
  • Display Ports : DisplayPort 1.4a *2 and HDMI 2.1*2
  • WINDFORCE 3X Cooling System with alternate spinning fans
  • Screen Cooling with Graphene nano lubricant
  • RGB Fusion 2.0 – synchronize with other AORUS devices
  • Protection metal back plate
Should you buy an old RX 6800 XT flagship GPU at half price now?

How is the performance of this RX 6800 XT Gaming OC?

If you want to know about the performance of the normal RX 6800 XT you can read the in-depth review of the original vanilla variant of the card. So, expect up to 5-7% performance improvement in various benchmarks already because of the increased clock speeds and that does reflect during games and productivity tests.

As you see here the RX 6800 XT OC with its mighty 16GB VRAM easily defeats the flagship RX 6900 XT as well. The price-to-performance ratio is superb and this makes the older AMD GPUs a better buy than the new ones.

In gaming also get great performance, slightly better than what we reported to the dedicated RX 6800 XT review which is kind of expected. Now, should you wait for the upcoming RX 7000 series? Well, yes you could if you have the money to spend because as per trends they won’t be cheap unless a year passes by.

So, if you have a limited budget or can afford up to mid-range, getting an older flagship at half price is a smart choice than going for a newer one for higher prices.

Intel Core i5-13400 Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks leak online

0

The Core i5-13400 Non-K CPU from Intel has been benchmarked in CPU-z and has shown respectable performance for its price range. The Core i5-13400 CPU will likely be built on both the Raptor Lake and Alder Lake architectures and feature a base frequency of 2.5 GHz and a maximum boost clock of 4.6 GHz, according to earlier leaks of the most recent Intel Raptor Lake CPUs, also known as the 13th Gen Core processors.

The L3 cache will also have an integrated GPU and be 20MB (Intel UHD 770). Both B0 (RPL-S 8+16) and C0 (ADL-S 8+8) die SKUs have been listed for the CPU.

This further includes the chip on the list of recently discovered Intel 13th Gen Core series processors. Through compatibility listings from Microsoft and Gigabyte, 22 processors were exposed. Two distinct architectures will be used in the design of the new processors. Although Alder Lake C0 and H0 architectures are also available, Raptor Lake B0 architectures will be used more frequently by the processors.

Impressive single-core and multi-core scores for the leaked Intel Core i5-13400 CPU are 729.3 and 6591.5, respectively.

While the new chip comes close to the Core i5-12600K, the most important point to note is that it outperforms AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600X, which costs about $300 US and has a claimed TDP of 105W, in terms of multi-threaded performance.

In contrast, the Intel Core i5-13400, a 65 Watt chip, will retail for roughly $200 US, similar to its predecessor, with the “F” variant perhaps costing less. That would represent a price differential of at least $100 US for Intel’s processor, which will work with DDR5/DDR4 memory and existing motherboards.

The Two Most Popular Sports Sponsorship Types Nowadays – crypto and casinos

0

Over the course of the past year, cryptocurrency players have inked a plethora of new cooperation arrangements, and they are rapidly becoming a dominant innovation in the sports business. In the short term, crypto sponsors could bring much-needed cash flow to a market that is strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in the medium to long term, the cryptocurrency sector is expected to become pivotal for sport assets and stakeholders to keep and expand a steady revenue flow in order to sustain growth.

The business of sponsorship in the sports industry is about to welcome an additional participant in the near future. Companies that operate digital lotteries are analyzing the competition posed by platforms that offer sports betting and cryptocurrencies in order to determine how they can successfully dominate the market.

Insiders in the business believe that digital lotteries are the next big thing in the commercialization of sports, which has been driven by betting and cryptocurrency for the past several years. They regard virtual lotteries as the future frontier in the commercialization of sports. They are giving bettors the chance to “Bet on a Crypto Lottery to win”, some are even calling it the “no-loss lottery”.

There are rhythms to the cycles of sports sponsorships. To begin, there was oil and tobacco, which, during the 1970s and 1980s, plastered their logos all over the uniforms of international sports teams. Then it was the turn of the alcohol industry and international finance to plaster their advertisements on the team jerseys and pitch-side billboard ads at the stadium.

At the moment, high-stakes gambling on sporting events, non-traditional currencies, and cryptocurrencies are providing funding for sports teams by way of their lucrative sponsorship deals. With the percentage of cryptocurrency and property sponsorships increasing from 5% to 59% on average the most prestigious tournaments in the world are welcoming crypto sponsorships with open arms.

However, what will the future have in store? Those with knowledge of the situation believe that virtual lotteries will soon enter the market in a fashion that will displace traditional gambling companies.

What Exactly Is A Digital Lottery?

In point of fact, the ‘activity’ might soon spread across practically the whole United States. The vast majority of digital lotteries are phone-based games, allowing players the convenience of purchasing tickets even when they are out and about. They are connected to state lotteries, in addition to Powerball and Mega Millions, and they effectively serve as a third-party aid to connect the player with the lottery.

One of these third-party companies is called Jackpocket, and they plan to launch its service in fourteen states. After investing 7 years into the research and development of the necessary technologies to break into the market, they went online for the first time in New Jersey in 2020.

Jackpot is a British company that has the potential to expand its presence in the US market if virtual lotteries become popular. Due to the fact that Europe was the first region in the world to offer legally sanctioned internet gambling 15 years before the United States, the significance of British knowledge in the American gambling sector is enormous.

The possibility of purchasing lottery tickets using a mobile device, similar to mobile betting on sports, is considered the key that will open the door for more people to participate in this market.

Moreover, it is not difficult to comprehend the rationale behind the insiders’ conviction that they have stumbled across a significant opportunity here. After all, the player pool for online lotteries is significantly larger than the one for online sports betting. In the United States, the minimum age to purchase a lottery ticket is merely 18, but the legal gambling age is 21.

How Do Digital Lotteries Work

Digital lotteries are made so that players can connect with state lottery providers like Mega Millions and Powerball. You can “buy” a lottery ticket through an app made by a digital lottery company. The company will then send your order to the state lottery to fulfill it.

You don’t have to get paper tickets if you don’t want to. You can also choose to get your ticket in a digital format. Your physical state lottery ticket and the one the digital lottery made for you are compared, and if they are the same, you win the prize for that drawing. Even though the technology is complicated and depends on robots and character recognition to work, the business world is sure that it works.

Will Digital Lotteries Brands Take Over Sports Sponsorship?

Digital lotteries are getting a lot of venture capital at the same time that sports betting and cryptocurrencies are going down. It has been a bad year for the two sectors that have been sponsoring sports for a long time. Companies like BetMGM have already said that after a successful NFL season in 2021, they will pull resources away from commercialization.

Approximately six years ago, sports gambling sites DraftKings and FanDuel started a land grab. That land grab is coming to an end, and since the value of crypto keeps going down, that industry is not ready to take over.

And so, virtual lotteries might come into the frame. Jackpocket has already made deals with eight teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and college sports. The New York Jets and the Texas Rangers are two of those teams. And Jackpot wants to join in on the fun.

And the reason for putting digital lottery logos on all of America’s major sporting leagues is the same as with other sponsorship pushes: to make the brand seem legitimate and get people to know about it.

Any business wants to be seen as legitimate. Whether it’s for tobacco, alcohol, banking, betting, or crypto, sports sponsorship gives a level of credibility that is hard to get in other ways.  So it’s not surprising that companies like Jackpocket, which have now generated millions of dollars through investment rounds, are ready to move into the sports world.

Crypto Sports Sponsorships

One of the most significant ways for worldwide financial institutions to reach more people has always been through sports sponsorship. Branding and advertising partnerships with sports teams and athletes help financial companies get customers from all over the country.

There has been a big change in the way sports sponsorships work around the world. Foreign currency exchange brokerages like FXPro, Alpari, Instaforex, and Swissquote used to be the biggest players in this market, but in the past two years, crypto brands have started to rise to the top.

Since the beginning of 2020, crypto industries have invested billions of dollars in sports sponsorships and made deals with some of the most popular athletes in the world. During halftime of the most recent Super Bowl, which is the US National Football League’s (NFL) annual playoff championship game, ads for top crypto brands like Coinbase, Crypto.com, FTX, and eToro were shown.

Just Coinbase’s website got upwards of 20 million hits in the first minute after the ad was shown. Chemin Esports, one of the best eSports teams in India, has signed a well-known and talented player named Lokmanyu Chaturvedi to solidify their FIFA 23 Roster.

Conclusion

Cryptocurrency gaming is having a significant impact on the development of the new world of online gambling, crypto-based sports betting, and online lottery gaming. Bitcoin casino operators are not only secure and legal, but they also provide a large number of bonuses and other benefits to new customers and users who have recently enrolled.

Sponsorship deals are good for crypto bettors because they give them access to a large and diverse audience, let them use other platforms, and make their products and services more popular and trustworthy.

By making crypto deals, sports properties can open up a new source of revenue, speed up the digital transformation of their business, and find new ways to connect with their fans.

AMD becomes a prominent player in The Decentralized Storage Alliance

0

The Decentralized Storage Alliance, which was established on Tuesday, promises collaboration amongst significant actors in the technology industry to ease the transition from Web2 to Web3.

The name of the campaign makes it clear that the main focus is on developing decentralized storage, raising awareness of this technology, and encouraging use. AMD, Seagate, Ernst & Young, Protocol Labs, and the Filecoin Foundation are significant technical partners.

When it comes to high-performance and adaptive processor technologies, which combine CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, Adaptive SoCs, and deep software integration, AMD plays a key position in the Web3 tech cluster. Decentralized storage is anticipated to succeed in the future thanks in large part to this skill.

Even before Web1, Seagate was a well-known manufacturer of physical storage equipment.

Home users, enterprises, and even cloud service providers (Web2), which the more recent technology aims to supplant, can all benefit from its solutions. If, as anticipated, decentralized storage does take off one day, Seagate would be wise to jump on board and serve as an influential member of this coalition from the start.

For the benefit of its clients, investment and accounting firm Ernst & Young will take on the responsibility of directing and creating safe blockchain technology for storage. A Web3 version of the cloud is what this storage system offers, with excellent efficiency, strong security, and a “much reduced” price. Because of its decentralized structure, uses of this storage technology aren’t tied to a particular provider; instead, they can meet data sovereignty needs and gain from other benefits of the blockchain.

The biggest supplier of this kind of service is Filecoin: According to Filecoin, it hosts 240 PiB of data, which is equivalent to almost 65,000 Wikipedia articles. It has thousands of clients, including UC Berkeley, the Shoah Foundation at USC, and the University of Utah. The Decentralized Storage Alliance appears to be off to a promising start.

The Changing Landscape of Money: Is Crypto the Future of Transaction?

0

The Age Of Change and Advancement

If one were to describe the era in which we are currently living today, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that it’s an age of change and advancement for all sectors of our lives. Compare the 1990’s with today. The concept of a phone back then, was just a device to make calls with, and maybe send text messages on, and today it is one of the most important devices in our lives, which we use in a number of areas, such as social media, as well as methods of convenience.

The concept of movies was either relegated to cinemas or Dvd’s, but now one can basically watch movies at any time due to streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

An area which is steadily changing is the world of finance which may find its future within the realm of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain. How does the world of cryptocurrencies fit within the financial world and does their intricate Nuance set the stage for the future of Finance?

Cryptocurrency: Baby Steps, Strong Future

The cryptocurrency industry has only been operating for the last 13 years or so, making it a relatively young sector of the financial landscape. This isn’t really fresh news, but it is generally agreed that the market needs more time to reach its full potential.

Evidence of this can be seen in the dearth of reliable resources for people looking to invest in the cryptocurrency market; however, sites like Coinbharat are working to rectify this situation by providing the general public with trustworthy guidance on this front. This site, started as a passion project by Indian expats and financial experts who saw an overall scarcity in objective reviews on cryptocurrency trading and knowledge towards the general public in regards to the landscape of cryptocurrency.

The Cutting Edge Technology Behind Crypto

The true degree of wonder behind cryptocurrency and the future it may hold stems from the technology it uses and what it may bring to the table. The main appeal behind cryptocurrency is that it acts as its own variation of a banking system that is composed completely online rather than in a physical manner. Everything within the blockchain is network-based, with E-wallets allowing one to manage their finances.

It’s a new concept, one which indeed has a strong potential to become a principal way for us to trade in finance. However, it comes with a number of criticisms.

Criticisms of the Crypto Industry

Like everything under the sun, the crypto industry has its good and it’s bad. One of the biggest criticisms towards the crypto industry lies within its volatility. Bitcoin’s value has risen and fallen dramatically, reaching a peak of Seventeen Thousand in December 2017 before crashing under Seven Thousand in the months that followed. Thus, some economists see cryptocurrencies as a fleeting craze or speculative bubble, while others predict that such volatility will eventually disappear, just as the volatility of stock markets of yesteryear did.

Another criticism of a financial network that is completely and solely based online, is that they can be easily hacked and stolen. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are very safe on their blockchains, but other crypto entities like exchanges and E-wallets may be compromised. Over the years, hackers have broken into a number of crypto exchanges and E-wallets, often making off with thousands of dollars’ worth of “coins.”

Closing Arguments

When it comes to deciding whether crypto may or may not be the future of finance, one may go into it with rose-coloured glasses, believing that due to the cutting edge technology of crypto, the world of finance is already going into the future, but in truth it is much more than that. The world of crypto today is too young and too volatile for one to give a definite answer on whether it’s the future of money, and only time will be able to answer this question for us.

In a statement released to the media, group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group (AAGL), Bo Lingam said, “Covid has allowed us to re-examine our priorities, and we felt that it was best suited for AirAsia to develop an ASEAN-only business.”

Bo stated that they would use their local airline operating experience and skills to expand the ASEAN-India market for logistical and passenger services. With a 5.9% market share, low-cost airline (LCC) AirAsia India is currently the fifth-largest airline in the nation. According to information provided by the aviation watchdog, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the carrier had claimed a load factor of 77% in September (DGCA). AAGL was the first to start an airline subsidiary in India, and operations began in June 2014.

Broadly hinting at the future, an elated Wilson said, “We are excited to initiate the creation of a single Air India Group low-cost carrier. This is a key step in the rationalization and transformation of the group.”

The LCC’s expenses grew to Rs 4,092 crore from Rs 3,015 crore and losses to Rs 2,179 crore from Rs 1,532 crore in FY2022, despite total income rising to Rs 1,914 crore from Rs 1,483 crore in FY2021.
