Eden Hazard no longer a part of Real Madrid’s plans

0

Eden Hazard’s big-money transfer to Real Madrid has been nothing short of a disaster. The Chelsea legend has failed to capture even a fraction of his form in Spain, with consistent injuries making it even more difficult for him to play.

With one and a half years remaining on his contract, the Belgian is no longer a part of the plans of the club. As a result, they want him to leave since he isn’t getting regular playing time either.

Eden Hazard not a part of Real Madrid’s plans anymore

Since being one of the best players in the Premier League, Eden Hazard’s stock has dropped by a huge margin. Younger players like Rodrygo Goes and Marco Asensio have all stepped ahead of him in the pecking order.

With him being restricted to the bench, and barely any playing time, Real Madrid have made it clear that they want him to leave. However, with a lack of playing time, no suitors have come forth either. The Spanish giants hope that the World Cup with Belgium will revive his will to play.

And this would cause him to look elsewhere to get more playing time. A January transfer could happen, but it depends on the player to accept a new destination.

Sri Lankan Cricket’s statement after the accusation:

The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket decided to suspend national player Danushka Gunathilaka from all forms of cricket with immediate effect and will not consider him for any selections after being informed that Mr. Gunathilaka was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a woman in Australia. Furthermore, Sri Lanka Cricket will take the necessary steps to promptly carry out an inquiry into the alleged offense, and, upon conclusion of the aforementioned court case in Australia, steps will be taken to penalize the said player if found guilty.

Danushka Gunathilaka was denied bail and suspended for an indefinite period by SLC after being accused of rape

Gunathilaka’s reputation in the past is not a very good one. In 2017 he was suspended by SLC Cricket Board for six games since he missed the training and came to the match without any cricket gear. Four years ago, in 2018, a close friend of his accused him of raping a Norwegian woman in Colombo. Last year, in 2021, he was suspended by SLC for one year since he breached Covid-19 restrictions in England. He was ruled out due to an injury but SLC doesn’t know why he didn’t get back to Colombo.

As per the South Wales police, the pair met after getting to know each other from a dating app. “They had drinks and went for something to eat before going back to the young lady’s home, male assaulted the female a number of times whilst performing sexual acts upon her,” said Detective Superintendent Jane Doherty

According to a Sydney Morning Herald report, Gunthalika was arrested wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, and things during his virtual hearings. His lawyer Ananda Amaranath made a bail application during the “closed court” hearing which was denied by the court.

The Srilankan squad had left Australia without Gunthalika after not making it to the semifinals. He played against Namibia in the first match and couldn’t score a single run, later he was ruled out due to an injury but the team qualified for the Super 12 stage.

FSG officially put Liverpool up for sale

0

Liverpool owners FSG have put the club up for sale. They have not made it clear if any offers are currently being considered, but are inviting bidders to make their moves.

The FSG has owned the Merseyside club since 2010, and has since overseen their development back into one of Europe’s top clubs. They won their first Premier League title in 2019/20, and have also won the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Champions League titles under John W Henry’s primary ownership.

FSG announce Liverpool up for sale

“There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool,” the official statement read.

“FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool. FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.

“FSG remains fully committed to the success of the club, both on and off the pitch.”

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have been retained to assist with the process, and it remains to be seen who emerges as the leading bidder to take over the club.

Tata Motors to implement marginal price hike across its passenger vehicles

The rising automotive giant, Tata Motors looks to bounce back strong in India with a number of models at its disposal and is also pouncing into the rising EV market. From commercial trucks and buses to SUVs, TATA is trying to revive its market share back in India and is looking strong day by day.

Recently, Tata Motors announced that it will implement a marginal price hike across its passenger vehicles. So, this means budget vehicles like TATA Tiago, Punch, Nexon and the EVs as well will all get a minor price bump effective from today, i.e. November 7, 2022.

They have said that the weighted average increase will be 0.9%, depending on the variant and model, so the effective price will vary across various models. Tata Motors again went on to say, “The company has been absorbing a significant portion of the increased costs but the steep rise in overall input costs has compelled it to pass on some proportion through this minimal price hike.”

The company has stated that there will be periodic price hikes like this and also has previously increased pricing in 2022 alone. Though they state increase in raw materials and other expenses is a factor, however, until they make quality vehicles that are still valued for money as well as safe, Indians will keep buying from Tata Motors, who has recently missed the 2nd spot in October sale by a fine margin to Hyundai.

Cody Gakpo price tag was only €50 million for Man Utd this past summer

Cody Gakpo has been one of the standout performers in all of Europe this season. The youngster has started to wear the captain’s armband for PSV Eindhoven, and has scored 13 goals while registering 17 assists in 23 games across all competitions.

This past summer, he was on the radar of several Premier League clubs such as Leeds United, Southampton, Manchester United and Arsenal. But, a transfer didn’t materialise to any of them.

Cody Gakpo summer 2022 transfer stories revealed

As revealed by PSV Eindhoven director Marcel Brands, Manchester United and Leeds United were considering an offer for the player. However, only the Elland Road outfit made a serious offer worth €41 million.

Of that amount, €30 million of that was to be paid upfront while €11 million was to be paid in bonuses. Interestingly, six of the instalments would only be triggered if Leeds reached the Champions League, which seems unlikely.

Manchester United, on the other hand, did not submit a formal offer for Cody Gakpo this summer. But based on his form right now, a move to England could definitely be on the cards next year.

“People said and wrote a lot about this, but no one within the organisation of PSV wanted to accept this,” Brands said.

“If United offered the money that we wanted to have for Cody, then we would’ve sold him. You can not stop him then. With bonuses we wanted to go up to €50m.”

David De Gea now ranks #1 for most Premier League minutes played of all-time

0

David De Gea broke a major Premier League record in Manchester United’s defeat against Aston Villa. The Spaniard is now the player with the most minutes on the pitch in the English top flight, with 35,039 minutes played

He overtook another goalkeeper, Ben Foster, who had played for 34,959 minutes before retiring very recently. Despite achieving a huge milestone in his career, he wasn’t able to seal it with a clean sheet, conceding three goals as United were beaten on the road

David De Gea has played the most minutes in the Premier League

De Gea was brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011 for £19 million, and he has been the first-choice between the posts since Edwin van der Sar retired. However, his ability to retain his role has dipped in the last few years.

His contract runs out at the end of the season, and he is yet to agree fresh terms with Manchester United. However, there is an option to extend David De Gea’s deal for a further year which the club can activate.

Several newer options have been linked with the Red Devils in recent weeks, including Porto’s Diogo Costa, who signed a new contract with the Portuguese club. The 32-year-old can still pull out the best of saves, but his ball-playing abilities have often been a cause for criticism. It now remains to be seen whether United will opt for a new goalkeeper or continue with the club icon.

Southampton sack Ralph Hasenhuttl after almost 4 years in charge

0

Southampton have officially announced the departure of Ralph Hasenhuttl after almost four years in charge of the club. The club were considering a change during the World Cup break, but their most recent defeat to Newcastle United has seemingly brought the decision forward by some weeks.

The start to the season has been quite disappointing for the Saints, who have only won three of their 14 games. As a result, they are facing a fight to stay up in the top flight.

Ralph Hasenhuttl sacked by Southampton

“Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl. First Team Assistant Coach Richard Kitzbichler has also today left the club,” a statement from Southampton read.

Hasenhüttl, who was appointed in December 2018, departs having made a significant contribution to the club, overseeing some memorable results and also playing a key role in the development of our club infrastructure, identity and playing squad.

“However, we now believe it is an appropriate time to make a change. Everyone involved with the club would like to express their sincere thanks to Ralph for all of his efforts, as well as the unwavering commitment he has shown throughout his time as manager. First Team Lead Coach Rubén Sellés will take charge of the side on an interim basis for our game on Wednesday night. The club will be announcing a permanent replacement in due course.”

It now remains to be seen who the club appoints to inherit the role permanently from Hasenhuttl.
