What went wrong for India in their 2nd ODI loss against Bangladesh?

0

India have lost their ODI series against Bangladesh 0-2 with one game to spare. And it is safe to say that things have not gone well for the men in blue following their T20 World Cup campaign.

Bangladesh were able to squeeze out a win with one wicket to spare in the first ODI. And the second one saw them lose by only five runs, with Rohit Sharma coming out to bat in the lower order due to an injured finger.

What went wrong for India in their series against Bangladesh

The batting order was disappointing in both games for India. They were bowled out for 186 in the first game itself, with KL Rahul achieving a total of 73 as the best in the line-up. The second ODI saw Virat Kohli bowled out for five runs, while Shikhar Dhawan was unable to add many more to the board either.

Although Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel provided hope in the form of a 107-run partnership for the fifth wicket, their successors, Deepak Chahar, and Shardul Thakur could not regain the momentum.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman put on a 51-run partnership for the last wicket to steal the win in the first match. The second match saw Bangladesh reduced to 69 for 6. But from that stage, they won the game, achieving a target of 271 by losing only 7 wickets.

India’s failure to deliver a killing blow in bowling and take advantage of the situations has cost them the series. And they will need to regroup and re-cultivate a killing instinct in them once again if they are to get the wins.

Have Portugal’s young attackers inherited the torch from Cristiano Ronaldo at 2022 World Cup?

0

Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the starting line-up for Portugal’s game against Switzerland in the World Cup Round of 16. And by the time the veteran came on, the match was already in the bag for his team.

A hat-trick from Goncalo Ramos and goals from Rafael Leao, Pepe and Raphael Guerreiro sealed passage to the quarter finals for the team. And even though he remains an important figure in the squad, Ronaldo’s contributions on the pitch have not been at par with his younger teammates.

The next generation of Portugal attackers are ready to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo

The likes of Joao Felix, Rafael Leao and Goncalo Ramos seem very well poised to carry the national team into the new era. One that will possibly be without Cristiano Ronaldo, the greatest footballer Portugal has ever produced.

While Ronaldo has only scored one goal, and none from open play at the World Cup, the trio has been adding to their tally steadily.

Bruno Fernandes has also been an important part of the team, not only scoring but also turning into provider when required. As a result, there seems little to worry about even if this proves to be the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s last contribution to the national team.

Given the way things are going, the future is in very safe hands. And it will be very interesting to see how the next generation of talented players lead the country with talent available all over the pitch.

Twitter Blue Will Cost $11 To iPhone Users for getting same benefits

0

Twitter Blue for the iPhone will cost $11 a month, while the website will cost $7. Following the hiccups, Elon Musk’s strategy to charge Twitter users for services remains on track. Users will pay the firm $7 a month for Twitter Blue in exchange for benefits like verification badges and fewer advertisements. It appears that iPhone users will need to pay an additional $11 a month for the same benefits.

Twitter Blue other details

Twitter intends to charge $11 a month for its “Twitter Blue” membership on the iPhone, in accordance with the most recent pronouncements, in order to make up for the 30% cut that Apple retains from in-app purchases.

On the internet, the subscription will cost $7 per month. It’s possible that Twitter can give Apple its 30 percent cut of in-app purchase revenue thanks to the iPhone’s higher price point without materially affecting the company’s bottom line.

This price differential might also tempt users to subscribe online, saving Twitter money on in-app purchase expenses. It’s challenging to determine for sure without more details, though. This is hardly a first for iPhone users either. It’s crucial to note that even if other businesses, like Spotify, have in the past imposed higher charges on the iPhone, this might cause confusion among customers who are unaware of the reasons for the variations in pricing from device to device.

It’s also important to note that Apple has no objections to businesses raising subscription prices in apps compared to the web. It’s challenging to predict exactly what the consequences of this pricing discrepancy will be without more details, though. In response to a dispute with Apple, Twitter recently altered the cost for its subscription service, “Twitter Blue.”

Twitter Blue

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, first raised the issue when he attacked Apple’s App Store subscription prices and asserted that Apple had “threatened to suspend Twitter from its App Store.” the issue was resolved. At their meeting in Apple Park, Elon Musk and Tim Cook allegedly had a “good conversation” about a “misunderstanding” regarding the potential removal of Twitter from the App Store.

The relaunch of Twitter Blue is scheduled for this Friday. After Musk added a verification checkmark to Twitter Blue, which allowed users with $8 to pay to mimic celebrities and other high-profile figures, the subscriptions were halted.

With a number of new features, including several badge colours for businesses, government accounts, and individuals, Twitter Blue is anticipated to be reintroduced. Additionally, there might be limitations on signing up for newer accounts as well as restrictions on changing usernames. The goal of this is to make the platform’s user experience better overall.

Apple starts its self-service repair programme for its European Customers

Apple said that it has expanded its self-service repair programme beyond the United States for the first time. Customers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom can now use the Apple Self Service Repair Store to acquire genuine Apple components and study repair instructions. Customers who want to do their own repairs for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lines, as well as Mac notebooks with Apple silicon, will be able to do so, according to Apple.

Customers must first check the repair manual for their product and the individual repair on Apple’s support website before performing a repair. They will then be able to order the necessary parts and tools from the Self Service Repair Store and start the repair. According to Apple, all tools and parts sold in the store go through “extensive testing to ensure the highest quality, safety, and reliability.”

While customers must acquire the necessary repair parts, Apple will supply a $49 kit that includes all of the necessary tools for customers to undertake repairs.

Customers will be able to rent the kit for one week before returning it to Apple, and it will be shipped free of charge. Customers who do not want to acquire and purchase tools for a single repair can benefit from this renting option.

According to the business, the programme is part of Apple’s attempts to “further expand access to repairs.” Nonetheless, Apple advises the “vast majority” of consumers to see a professional repair provider, such as an Apple Store, to guarantee their devices are serviced safely and reliably. Apple’s repair network has grown over the previous three years to include over 3,000 Independent Repair Providers and over 5,000 approved service providers globally.

Luis Enrique leaves Spain national team after World Cup 2022 Ro16 exit

0

Luis Enrique has been replaced as the head coach of the Spanish national team. The decision has been made official by the RFEF, and Enrique has been replaced by Luis de la Fuente. The 61-year-old has won the Euros with Spain’s youth teams, and was the man who guided the country to the silver medal at the 2020 Olympics.

He has stepped in to take charge of the senior team on one occasion, and has now been appointed the long-term manager. Luis Enrique’s contract was set to run out after the World Cup, and he refused to sign an extension until after the tournament.

Luis Enrique leaves Spanish national team

Spain exited the World Cup at the Round of 16 stage against Morocco on penalties. And Enrique took all the blame onto himself for the early exit. Now, the RFEF has decided to appoint Luis de la Fuente instead of renewing his contract.

“The RFEF energetically wishes Luis Enrique and his team the best of luck in their future professional projects. The coach earns the love and admiration of his collaborators in the national team and of the entire federation, which will always be his home,” an official statement read.

Enrique’s spell was quite impressive apart from the World Cup, achieving good results in the Nations League, and a semi-final spot in the Euros. Although the players wanted him to carry on, fans wanted to see him replaced. And now, de la Fuente has a young squad to nurture for the coming tournaments.
