Blake Shelton Sets the Record Straight: “I Don’t Believe Anything on the Internet Anymore”

Country music’s favorite couple is still going strong! Blake Shelton has finally broken his silence on persistent divorce rumors with wife Gwen Stefani, and his response is equal parts hilarious and frustrating. Here’s what the country star had to say about internet gossip and AI-generated fake photos.

Blake Shelton Relationship At A Glance

The Grocery Store Divorce Cycle

During his co-hosting appearance on Country Countdown USA, Blake addressed the absurd pattern of online rumors. “Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up. They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce,'” he explained.

Then comes the ridiculous part: “And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store … ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’ Another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store … ‘They’re divorcing.'”

The 49-year-old country singer expressed his frustration with how the media creates drama from simple everyday activities—or the lack thereof.

The AI Problem

Blake also revealed something even more unsettling: “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?'”

The rise of AI-generated images has made it nearly impossible to distinguish fact from fiction. Blake’s conclusion? “I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”

Their Real Love Story

Blake and Gwen’s romance began in 2015 after both went through high-profile divorces—Blake from Miranda Lambert and Gwen from Gavin Rossdale. They connected as coaches on The Voice and found solace in each other during difficult times.

In May 2025, Blake told People that approaching their 10-year milestone felt surreal: “It honestly does. Some of the things that we talk about, we’re to the point in our relationship where it’s like, ‘Oh, remember what happened…’ and then you realise, ‘Oh my God, that was eight years ago!'”

Despite the years together, Blake noted the relationship still feels “new”—a testament to their enduring connection.

Why the Rumors Started

The speculation apparently stemmed from the couple not making major public appearances together since March 2025. In today’s celebrity culture, absence from red carpets equals trouble—at least according to tabloids.

However, Gwen has her own perspective on dealing with gossip. She’s previously stated that when you have aligned values and genuine love, outside noise doesn’t matter.
