BLACKPINK Jisoo vs YG Entertainment!

BLACKPINK is back with a bang—or so it seemed when YG Entertainment dropped the teaser for a brand-new world tour. On February 6, 2025, fans rejoiced at the prospect of fresh music and an international stage for their beloved idols. But for a vocal segment of BLINKs, the timing of this announcement couldn’t have been worse. They claim it overshadowed Jisoo’s long-awaited solo comeback, sparking a heated debate: Did YG inadvertently (or purposely) steal her spotlight?

BLACKPINK Jisoo vs. YG Entertainment: The Clash of Timelines

Jisoo has been busy hyping up her upcoming album, Amortage, and her Lights, Love, Action! fan event. She’s given fans glimpses of her new music, teased special guests, and connected with BLINKs on social media for weeks. Then the surprise struck: YG not only confirmed a full world tour for BLACKPINK in 2025 but also teased an album to follow up 2022’s Born Pink. Cue confusion and frustration across the internet.

Fans Speak Out: “This Is So Nasty”

Moments after the tour announcement, social media lit up with angry comments. One frustrated fan wrote, “Just when Jisoo announced her Asia tour, YG suddenly announced another world tour without an album or anything, just to distract fans from Jisoo. So nasty.” Others shouted that the label was “deliberately overshadowing” her solo era. One fan even declared, “Announcing a tour without a comeback during Jisoo’s solo era? I can see right through you,” implying the label was using the group’s high-profile clout to bury Jisoo’s news.

Is This the First Time?

This isn’t the first time fans have been quick to critique perceived scheduling conflicts at YG. BLACKPINK, as a group, concluded their Born Pink World Tour in September 2023, and many expected each member to revel in individual spotlights. Lisa and Jennie have embarked on their own large-scale projects in the past, but in Jisoo’s case, the timing feels particularly tight. The label’s unveiling of a second major event so close to her personal release naturally raised eyebrows.

Group Comeback vs. Solo Era

Another bone of contention? Jisoo’s own Asia tour, complete with fan meetups and exclusive performances, was capturing headlines. The minute YG revealed BLACKPINK’s 2025 tour, that wave of publicity shifted. Some fans insist that this overshadowing tactic wasn’t accidental, especially since the new album detail overshadowed the fact that Jisoo’s album, Amortage, has yet to drop.

The Divide Among BLINKs

Not all fans are up in arms. Many remain thrilled that BLACKPINK is returning with a new album after a near three-year gap. The group’s synergy is part of what makes K-pop so exciting, and a large-scale tour is sure to reach millions worldwide. Yet the tension over Jisoo’s moment can’t be ignored. For every ecstatic tweet about the group’s next step, there’s another criticizing YG for alleged mismanagement.

Final Thoughts

Whether it’s a mere scheduling fluke or a deliberate move, the resulting controversy draws attention to a bigger issue: balancing group and solo careers in the K-pop world. BLINKs love BLACKPINK as a cohesive unit, but they also want each member, including Jisoo, to shine on her own terms. Only time will tell if the overlap truly hinders her success—or if her album and tour can thrive regardless.

FAQs

Q1: Why are fans upset with YG Entertainment about the world tour announcement?

A1: Critics believe the timing of the announcement intentionally overshadowed Jisoo’s solo album and Asia tour. They argue it diverted attention away from her individual efforts and caused unnecessary overlap.

Q2: When is BLACKPINK’s next album releasing, and how does it affect Jisoo’s plans?

A2: YG Entertainment confirmed a brand-new album for 2025, following up on 2022’s Born Pink. Because the announcement came so close to Jisoo’s solo promotions, some fans feel her spotlight has been diluted. However, official release dates for both the group album and Jisoo’s project remain subject to scheduling changes.
