Xiaomi’s gaming phone company Black Shark, earlier this year, unveiled the Black Shark 4 series with a Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phones feature a 144Hz display and 120W fast charging for the 4500 mAh battery. A few months down the line and the company is already working on the successor of its current flagship. Chinese smartphone maker Black Shark is likely to launch its new gaming smartphone series, the Black Shark 5, soon. In the latest development, tipster Digital Chat Station (via Weibo) has claimed that the upcoming flagship will draw power from Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset. Let’s take a look at the leaked details of the upcoming Black Shark 5 series that is expected to launch soon.
Black Shark 5 Specs(Expected)
Digital Chat Station states that the upcoming flagship will have the model number KTUS-A0. It will come with a Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. The SoC’s prime core CPU gets a boost to 2.995GHz, compared to 2.84GHz on the SD888 SoC. It also gets a 20 percent improvement in AI performance over the SD888 SoC.
Furthermore, he notes that the phone might support 100W fast charging. To compare, the Black Shark 4 series supports 120W fast charging. We can expect its successor Black Shark 5 to also support 120W fast charging out of the box.
Details regarding the Black Shark 5’s design and display are still under wraps. However, considering that it will take after its predecessor, the Black Shark 4, it may feature a punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device might bear a 6.67-inch IPS LCD or an AMOLED panel with a Full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) resolution, and possibly a high refresh rate.
At present, there is no information regarding the pricing and availability details of the Black Shark 5 smartphone.
On the other hand, the company has not given any official confirmation on Black Shark 5. There is not even a teaser available right now online. We can only speculate until something more solid materializes hinting us at a direction.
