Speaking at a review meeting held at Madan Mohan Auditorium in Vikas Bhawan, Tiwari emphasized that scoring low in an exam doesn’t mean a student’s ability or potential is gone. He noted that printing a word like “Fail” on official documents can weigh heavily on a child’s morale — and the department wants its language to reflect encouragement rather than judgment.

The Education Department will amend the relevant rules to formalize this change, and the Bihar School Examination Committee is expected to receive official instructions soon.

Alongside the wording change, the minister announced special one-month coaching classes for students appearing in the matric supplementary exams. The goal is to help these students prepare better and improve their chances of clearing the exam on their next attempt.
