Bigg Boss Malayalam: Kappal Yathra Task Fuels Immunity Fight

Imagine staying on a ship for 24 hours with no food, no water and no washroom breaks. That’s exactly what Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8 asked of its housemates this week, and the fight for immunity got intense.

What Is the Kappal Yathra Task?

Hosted by Mohanlal, the show has reached its 44th day. The latest episode features Kappal Yathra, a ship-themed task where contestants compete for the coveted Eviction-Free Card. Housemates must collect gold, defend their positions aboard the ship and follow strict restrictions on eating, drinking water and using the washroom.

Highlights From the Task

Gautham Sasi emerged as a notable performer by completing 24 consecutive hours aboard the ship. Wikky Thug managed to convince the sailors to let him join them.

Not everything went by the book, though. Noby stole gold from Kadal Komban, and Vedangi tried to take gold from Mridula. Tensions rose further when Tashi faced a medical emergency after temporarily leaving the ship to use the washroom.

Off-Task Drama

Outside the task, tempers flared. Following the Week 7 nominations, Rahul Easwar confronted Shijin, accusing him of using a “poverty card” for public sympathy and alleging external PR support behind online hate campaigns.

Meanwhile, Neha Fathima explained her disagreement with Vedangi, saying she was upset by repeated taunts about her height and weight rather than by losing a previous task.

Who Is Nominated This Week?

Nine contestants are on the Week 7 nomination list:

Nominated Housemates
Vipin, Noby, Aiswarya
Vedangi, Nowfina, Rahul Easwar
Anjali, Wikky Thug, Tashi

Tashi is also serving a direct three-week nomination penalty imposed by Mohanlal. The Eviction-Free Card winner will gain immunity from the upcoming weekend elimination, which makes every gold coin count.

Last week, Nilina Elizabeth Joseph was evicted after remaining in the danger zone alongside Noby, Azif and Vedangi.

Why It’s Worth Watching?

Physical tasks strip away strategy and expose real personalities. Add rule-breaking, rivalries and a medical scare, and you have the kind of episode that keeps fans debating online. For background on the franchise, see Bigg Boss (Malayalam TV series) on Wikipedia.
