Nobody saw this crossover coming — and yet, it feels absolutely inevitable. Salman Khan, Bollywood’s biggest mass entertainer, is teaming up with Raj & DK, the masterminds behind The Family Man, for his very first superhero film. And now we have a shooting date.

The Biggest Bollywood Superhero Film in the Making
Salman Khan and Raj & DK’s film gears up to go on floors in October 2026. Touted as a high-concept action entertainer, the project is being produced by Atul Agnihotri, with talks underway with Mythri Movie Makers to come on board as the studio partner.
This isn’t just any film — it’s Salman stepping into superhero territory for the very first time. Given Raj & DK’s track record of blending slick writing with mass-market appeal, this collaboration has blockbuster DNA written all over it.
What’s Happening in Pre-Production Right Now?
According to sources, the makers are currently in the pre-production stage, locking the scale, look, and technical aspects of the film. “It’s a big-budget superhero film designed for a global audience. The team is aiming to begin filming by October 2026, once all pre-visualisation and prep work is in place,” a source shared. Storyboard18
The phrase “designed for a global audience” is key — this isn’t your standard masala entertainer. Raj & DK are clearly swinging for the fences.
Samantha Casting Rumours? Busted
The internet went into overdrive with rumours of Samantha Ruth Prabhu being cast opposite Salman. Contrary to ongoing rumours, Samantha is not part of the film. “The reports of Samantha being cast are completely untrue. The makers are still exploring options and will finalize the female lead in the next couple of months,” the source clarified.
What Else Is Salman Up To?
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently shooting for an untitled action film directed by Vamshi Paidipally, with Nayanthara as the female lead, set for a grand Eid 2027 release. So yes — Bhai has a very packed schedule ahead.
The Indian superhero film genre is still finding its footing, and a Salman Khan × Raj & DK collaboration could be the game-changer it needs. For more Bollywood news and entertainment updates, stay connected with TechnoSports.
