“BET” Season 2 Cameras Are Officially Rolling — Here’s What We Know So Far

The cards are back on the table! Production has officially begun on Season 2 of “BET,” Netflix’s live-action take on the wildly popular anime and manga series Kakegurui. Filming kicked off in Toronto, and the cast is clearly buzzing with excitement to be back.

When Did BET S2 Filming Start (and End)?

According to production listings, filming for the 10-episode second season began on June 3, 2026, and is scheduled to wrap on August 13, 2026. Showrunner Simon Barry confirmed the news on Instagram with a playful “Game on” message accompanied by card suit emojis — a fitting nod to the show’s high-stakes gambling premise.

Who’s Coming Back?

Lead star Miku Martineau, who plays the gambling-obsessed transfer student Yumeko, also shared her excitement on social media. She’s joined by a large returning ensemble, including Eve Edwards as Mary, Laura Afelskie as Runa Von Ludwig, Clara Alexandrova as Kira, Hunter Cardinal as Michael, and several other familiar faces from Season 1.

One cast member even posted a fun celebratory video shouting out Canadian staples like Tim Hortons and the Toronto Maple Leafs, capturing just how much the cast seems to love being back on set.

Where Is It Filming?

Season 1 made great use of Toronto’s academic and historic architecture to bring the show’s elite, underground-gambling boarding school to life. Locations included Emmanuel College, Victoria College, Wycliffe College, and the Claireville Conservation Area in Brampton. If Season 2 follows the same pattern, fans in the area might catch glimpses of filming around these iconic spots.

With pre-production wrapping up smoothly — including a table read back in May — and the cast clearly thrilled to reunite, anticipation for Season 2 is building fast.
