Chelsea are progressing well in their negotiations with Monaco to sign Benoit Badiashile. The centre-back is a target for the Blues during the January transfer window, and a final agreement could soon be in place for the player.
According to Fabrizio Romano, only the final bits are remaining for the agreement to be completed. There is no issue on personal terms since the youngster is keen on making the move to West London, and the deal could be wrapped up within the coming days.
Benoit Badiashile deal with Chelsea in advanced stages
“I don’t know but he was on the bench today because I also need to plan things. I need to give others automatisms and experience. Whilst nothing is signed, he is still a part of this club,” Monaco manager Phillipe Clement said when asked about the defender leaving.
“A manager always wants to keep his best players. Benoît is still very motivated for the club. He shows that in every training session.”
Benoit Badiashile was on the bench for their recent 3-2 win against Auxerre. And in all likelihood, he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge very soon.
The transfer fee being discussed for the 21-year-old is in the region of €35/40 million, and he will be the third signing for the team during the January transfer window after David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos.
