The BCCI has reported a massive profit in the ongoing financial year, after the slump they experienced during the pandemic years. With the fans allowed back into stadiums, revenue has skyrocketed as per the statement from the treasurer, Ashish Shelar.
During the 2022-23 year, the BCCI made an income of INR 6,558.80 crore, which is an INR 2,198.23 crore rise over NR 4,360.57 crore which was generated in the covid phase, i.e financial year 2021-22.

The BCCI also received a turnover of Rs 377 crore from the WPL, which made a brilliant start. The governing body is expecting a massive boost in revenue up to Rs 80,000 crore in 2027.
The annual general meeting also agreed that they would no longer pay extra money to guest players in state divisions. The player’s would only receive the match fees from the coming year.
With the steady growth of streaming services across the country and the fact that it is a World Cup year, the Indian cricket board will receive a massive boost in revenue this year itself. They have also won the Asia Cup and have hosted a number of series in the country, which will further improve the revenue of the board.
This helps the BCCI continue their reign as the richest cricket board in the world, owing to the massive popularity of the sport in the country.
