Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal to sign Arthur from America MG. The player has agreed to a contract until 2028, and the transfer fee involved is around €6 million. The deal could be finalised by the weekend, as it is still not fully official. He has a contract with America until 2025, and stepped up to the senior team last February.

The 20-year-old will link up with the first team at the end of the season when the transfer window opens. Teams cannot register new players in the middle of the season, which means that he will have to wait till July to make the move to Germany.

With the full-back joining Leverkusen in the summer, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Jeremie Frimpong could be allowed to leave.

Last season, he played 17 times for America MG across all competitions, and managed to start five of them. He recently made his debut for the Brazil national team as they stumbled to a 2-1 loss against Morocco, who continued their remarkable form from the 2022 World Cup.

Once Arthur arrives from America MG, he would be the 24th player to play for Bayer Leverkusen. There could be another addition at right-back since both of Bayer’s current options could leave. The Brazilian could use another option, and it remains to be seen who joins the club in the summer.
