Electronic Arts and EA DICE have introduced Battlefield 2042 Season 5, named New Dawn. The upcoming Battlefield 2042 season will include a new map called Reclaimed, which is based on an abandoned Czechia industrial plant that is being reclaimed by nature. Other announced Battlefield 2042 material includes new weaponry, gadgets, and significant quality-of-life changes. All of this is in addition to the new Season 5 battle pass content.
While Battlefield 2042 had a bumpy start in late 2021, EA DICE has made significant improvements to the game since then. Since then, four seasons of content have been released. All of Battlefield 2042‘s launch maps have been revamped, the Class system has been reinstated in Season 3, and a large variety of maps, weapons, vehicles, and other items have been introduced that may be unlocked just by playing. As you know this is a much different game than it was when it first arrived, and EA DICE is continuing that work with Season 5.
Season 5’s most significant addition to Battlefield 2042 is the game’s new wintry map, Reclaimed.
Players will travel to a Czech industrial location and compete for control of a secret train line. The Crash Site, a derailed train where motorized combat reigns supreme, the Landing Zone, which concentrates on close-quarters action, the Abandoned Turbine, Military Warehouse, Silos, and Bunker, a central room where fierce up-close conflicts will take place, are all locations in Reclaimed.
However, Reclaimed isn’t the only new feature of Battlefield 2042. Season 5 will also include three new weapons: the XCE Bar, GEW-46, and BFP.50. The GEW-46 is particularly exciting because it is based on fan-favorite weapons from Battlefield 4. New devices are also in the pipeline for this season, including the Spring Grenade, Anti-Tank Grenade, and Mini Grenade.
A redesign of the Hourglass map is planned for later in Season 5, as well as reworks of vehicle load-outs and vault weaponry. The installation of the Squad Management System, however, is the most significant enhancement in quality of life. The SMS interface allows Battlefield 2042 players to join existing squads or form new ones while passing on squad leadership.
Battlefield 2042 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
