Barcelona face Sevilla on March 3rd after winning La Liga tie

After winning the first match against Sevilla, Barcelona have another test on their plate against the reigning Europa League winners, in the second leg of the Copa del Rey which they lag behind in by 2-0.

Barcelona face Sevilla on March 3rd and managed to win the La Liga encounter today by the same scoreline that they lost the first leg of the Copa del Rey fixture. Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi got onto the scoresheet for the Blaugrana, with Messi assisting Dembele’s opener against Sevilla.

Considering that the two teams meet only a few days later, Barcelona will be heading into the match with the higher amount of confidence among the two despite losing the first leg of the Copa del Rey. Sevilla, on the other hand, will have to bring their best to the table if they are to hold on to the lead they worked so hard to achieve and get through to the finals of the Spanish Cup.

While Barcelona have managed to come within two points of table toppers Atletico Madrid, the Rojiblancos still have two games in hand on them. Should they get the six available points from the two games, the gap will widen to eight which is still a considerable number at this juncture of the season.

With the inconsistency that both teams have been showing this season, the second leg of the Copa del Rey on March 3rd will no doubt be a recipe for a very entertaining match between two of the big clubs in Spain.
