Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Launches: New Modding Toolkit, Enhanced Split-Screen, and More Evil Endings

Patch 7 is a turning point for Baldur Gate 3, adding features to the game like the Beta Modding Toolkit, improved local split-screen functionalities, and brand-new evil endings. Now, it’s also available on Mac and console platforms, which makes this quite an interesting moment for gamers who are usually all but stripped of modding for consoles.

Baldur Gate 3 Patch 7 Launch

Since the arrival of the modding toolkit, Larian Studios has said more than 15 million user-created mods created using its official resources have been downloaded. Although PC players have had a head start with this update, it has now been made available to Mac and console users featuring evil endings, cinematics, and unique conclusions for those playing as Origin Characters.

This toolkit allows PC users for the first time to create and upload mods into an official mod manager, opening up a whole new world of modding to everyone. Hundreds of thousands of players have unlocked the toolkit in order to create mods, some even bring real-time combat and new areas to explore such as Avernus into play. That said, these creations are likely never making their way to consoles as they seem to be outside of the official toolkit guidelines.

From everything in this Patch 7, by far the most important addition in our opinion is a completely re-worked Split-Screen experience for couch co-op play. As they approach each other within the game, their screens slot together to form a single display, joining them in corporeal space just as if they were sitting side-by-side.

The variety of mods available also includes simpler alterations, such as changing character races and classes or customizing user interfaces. Additionally, the patch brings quality-of-life enhancements to writing and animations. Honour Mode has received updates as well, incorporating Legendary Actions for some of the most powerful adversaries in the game.

Overall, Patch 7 signifies a major advancement for Baldur’s Gate 3, enriching the player experience through new content, improved mechanics, and a vibrant modding community.
