New designs, prices, and release dates for AYANEO’s GEEK & AYANEO 2 handheld gaming consoles have all been disclosed. AYANEO is the only handheld producer with a relatively large library of systems, other than GPD, which mostly creates hybrid laptop and portable gaming systems. The only two firms that haven’t launched varied systems and price points to the level of AYANEO and GPD are One-Netbook and Steam, with its Onexplayer Mini and Steam Deck (respectively).
It makes sense for AYANEO to incorporate the newest CPU in its designs given that the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U mobile processor is increasingly being used in handheld PC gaming systems. The use of the AMD mobile processor does, however, come at a significant cost for the most recent systems. The GEEK and AYANEO 2 lines of the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U portable models from the Chinese manufacturer have been given a release date and price; the former will cost $949, while the latter will cost $1,099.
Both of AYANEO’s new systems will be made available through crowdfunding campaigns, allowing consumers to prepurchase the system, sometimes at a discount, or what are known as “Early Bird” and “Super Early Bird” pricing. Due to the reduced number of systems accessible at that price point, the lower price will last for a shorter period of time.
Both Fantasy Black, which offers an 800p resolution, and Crystal Purple, which delivers a higher 1200p resolution, will be available as AYANEO GEEK models. With the exception of the upgraded processor, not much has changed for the two systems. Console gamers seeking a high-end portable retro design or emulation may find the Crystal Purple to be a bigger hit. In contrast, people will purchase the regular Fantasy Black colorway more frequently.
Starry Black, Sky White, B. Duck, and Retro Power are the four hues that the AYANEO 2 is expected to come in. Each is offered alongside the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor in various configurations, as you can see in the table below.
When compared to the company’s flagship AYANEO 2, which has a bigger screen and more memory options, the GEEK system often offers less power and size. The GEEK offers a better deal for an introduction system for individuals wishing to own a mobile gaming system that supports the majority of PC games because it is also the least expensive for consumers.
Beginning in December 2022, the new AYANEO 2 and AYANEO GEEK systems will be available for purchase.
