AYANEO has astonished their fans by releasing not one, but three distinct consoles. While both the AIR and the AIR PRO are intriguing handheld game consoles, the AIR PLUS may be the most intriguing of the bunch, owing to its lower pricing and usage of more powerful graphics.

The AIR series, as previously stated, is primarily based on the Ryzen 5000U series, which features Zen3 core microarchitecture and Vega graphics. They’re currently regarded as old, and the superb Ryzen 6000U series with RDNA2 architecture outperforms them.

Valve’s Steam Deck, a worthy competitor to AYANEO and other portable gaming devices, features its own SoC with Zen2 architecture and RDNA2 graphics, which is a significant upgrade over Vega.

AMD introduced a new CPU called Mendocino at Computex earlier this week. The Van Gogh APU by Steam Deck has the same architecture as this processor for affordable lightweight mobile devices. AMD, on the other hand, has stated that these are not the same CPUs. The Mendocino APU is slated to go on sale in the fourth quarter, and AYANEO stated today that their new AIR PLUS console will be among the first to acquire it.

AYANEO Air Plus has yet to release the complete specs of their new inexpensive RDNA2 console, other than stating that it is a 6-inch 1080p console with support for a regular M.2 2280 SSD

Of course, it’s still too early to make a straight comparison to Steam Deck because the memory and storage specifications are still unknown. However, both are powered by the Zen2/RDNA2 processor, and the Air Plus will set you back $289, which is $60 less than the Deck.

The release date for the Air Plus is presently uncertain. Members of the community will be able to purchase this console for a discounted price of $199.
