A Track Built on Nostalgia

The original Awarapan, despite a rocky box-office run back in 2007, went on to earn cult status over the years, largely thanks to its emotionally raw storytelling and music. With Yeh Awarapan, the makers are clearly leaning into that same legacy, bringing Arijit Singh’s voice into a story that’s designed to blend the character’s past and present into one continuous emotional thread.

What the Song Captures

According to the makers, the track reflects how the film’s protagonist, Shivam Pandit, remains tethered to his own solitude no matter how much time passes or how his circumstances change. Composed by Amaal Mallik with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, the song leans on piano and electric guitar to underscore its melancholic tone, culminating in the recurring line about loneliness being his only real companion.

Emraan Hashmi Returns to Familiar Territory

Known for owning this kind of emotionally intense, heartbreak-driven role, Emraan Hashmi steps back into a persona he’s long been associated with, joined this time by Disha Patani as his co-lead. The supporting cast includes Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, and several others rounding out the ensemble.
