Marvel just made history with a villain-only poster, and it has fans guessing who stands beside Doctor Doom.
What Marvel Revealed for Avengers: Doomsday?
Marvel Studios unveiled a new Avengers: Doomsday poster showing Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in his towering Latverian throne room. Three masked Latverian witches stand on the staircase behind him, in purple, red and green. Marvel shared it around San Diego Comic-Con Málaga (October 1-4).
Per The Direct’s report, it’s the first MCU theatrical poster in 18 years to spotlight characters who haven’t been officially cast. It’s also the first to feature four villains with no heroes in sight. The film arrives on December 18.

The Witch Theories (Unconfirmed)
None of this is official. It’s fan speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt.
| Witch | Popular guess | Why fans think so |
|---|---|---|
| Purple | Clea (Charlize Theron) or Agatha Harkness | Clea’s post-credits tease; purple is Agatha’s trademark |
| Red | Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) | Costume colour appeared orange at Comic-Con, now red |
| Green | Sylvie or Rio Vidal (Death) | Green colours; the pendant suggests a leader |
A leaked character codenamed “Boris” wears a similar costume with an extra eye hole, which fuels talk of a Doctor Strange link.
Why It Matters?
Doom is known for ruthless ambition, so his closest allies are likely powerful magic users. Joe Russo has described this Doom as “meticulous,” a character who doesn’t act on impulse. A promo also showed five robed figures, so more witches may be coming. Catch up on the character’s history in this Wikipedia entry on Avengers: Doomsday.
