Avengers: Doomsday Reshoots: Here’s The Real Reason Marvel Went Back To Cameras

Just months before release, Marvel Studios is quietly rewriting the rulebook. The latest Avengers: Doomsday reshoots news has fans buzzing — and the reason behind them might be bigger than anyone expected.

Why Is Avengers: Doomsday Back In Reshoots?

With less than four months to go before its release, Avengers: Doomsday is reportedly undergoing another round of reshoots — its second known round — right before Avengers: Secret Wars begins filming. According to insider reports, Marvel Studios is using this window to add a significant number of new cameos to the film, which may explain why production is resuming before Secret Wars even starts shooting.

What’s Really Going On Behind The Scenes

It’s not fully clear whether these new cameos pull from past Marvel franchises through the Multiverse, or introduce MCU characters who weren’t part of the film originally. One likely explanation: Secret Wars‘ script was still evolving during Doomsday‘s original shoot, so these reshoots may be tightening the connective tissue between the two blockbusters.

Speculation is already swirling around returning names — Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey, and even Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch have all been floated as possible additions, likely tied to the film’s Battleworld-building climax.

Reshoots this close to release aren’t unusual for a project of this scale — juggling a massive ensemble cast often means production happens in multiple phases. For the full scoop and cameo theories, read The Direct’s original report.
