Atletico Madrid badge change confirmed: Atletico Madrid have announced that they will be changing their badge on July 1, 2024 in preparation of the 2024/25 season. The decision has been factored in by the overwhelming majority vote from the club’s members. And it has now been officially confirmed by the club in a statement as well.

The previous logo featured a green tree on the top left corner of the logo, which was replaced by the all-blue tree on the right hand side. The club will be reverting back to the old style, but has not confirmed that the changed badge will have the gold border.

88.68% of people that participated in the official voting process between the current and the former badge opted for the club to go back to their former emblem. The preference of 68,894 participants in the vote has been taken up by the club, and this will be the last season that they play under their current badge.

The decision is a costly process, as revealed in the official statement. The reason being that the shirts, stadium, training grounds and other areas that showcase the logo will all have to be changed. But, in spite of the costs, the decision has the full backing of the board of directors of the club.

Atletico Madrid recently celebrated their 120th anniversary with a special commemorative blue and white kit. The club also changed their badge on the new kit, which is still available for purchase. And in keeping with their rich history over the last century, they will once again revert to their old logo.
