ASUS is gearing up to launch its high-end ROG laptops alongside the mainstream Zenbook lineup, with the ROG Zephyrus M16 taking the spotlight. Recently spotted online by hardware retailers and noted by Momomo_US, these premium laptops promise top-tier specifications.

The All New ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16, identified by the code “GU605MY,” stands out with the inclusion of the powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU. This processor boasts an impressive configuration of 16 cores (in a 6+8+2 setup) and 22 threads, featuring a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock of 5.1 GHz.

With 24 MB of cache and a 45W (PL1) TDP, the CPU also integrates an Arc Xe-LPG GPU based on the Alchemist architecture, housing 8 Xe-cores. However, the laptop configuration is further enhanced with NVIDIA’s RTX 4090, marking it as a top-tier gaming chip in the laptop segment.

Additional specifications of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 include a 16-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) display, support for up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory, up to 1 TB of PCIe NVMe storage, and the operating system running on Windows 11.

It’s worth noting that the listing mentions LPDDR5X memory, indicating a soldered design that may limit user upgradeability. This could pose a challenge for users looking to upgrade memory, and confirmation may only come with the official unveiling. Positioned as a high-end laptop, the pricing is expected to surpass the $2000 US range. The Intel Meteor Lake Core Ultra 9 CPUs, crucial to this laptop’s performance, are anticipated to be available in January, suggesting a formal introduction at CES 2024.
