Asus ROG Phone 8 Series Teased Ahead of CES 2024: Leaked Renders Showcase Design and Features

The full reveal of the Asus ROG Phone 8 series, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, is scheduled for the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. Teasing the imminent launch, the Taiwanese company has been actively promoting the gaming-centric ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro on its social media platforms. Meanwhile, fresh leaks of the ROG Phone 8 Pro have surfaced, showcasing a boxy design with a hole-punch display and minimal bezels.

The Leaked Asus ROG Phone 8 Series

Alleged renders of the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, shared by MySmartPrice, provide a detailed look at the handset’s design. The images reveal the device in a black hue with a boxy aesthetic and slim bezels. The front display incorporates a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. On the back panel, a vertically aligned camera module houses at least three camera sensors, accompanied by an LED flash.

Examining the edges, the right side of the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro features the power button and volume controls, while the left side accommodates a USB Type-C port. Notably, the handset retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, the rear panel showcases the iconic ROG logo with RGB lighting.

The official launch of the Asus ROG Phone 8 series is set for CES 2024 in Las Vegas on January 8, with the Chinese market debut scheduled for January 16. According to previous leaks, the ROG Phone 8 series is anticipated to run on Android 14 with ROG UI, boasting a 6.78-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Pro model is expected to offer a 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support, along with configurations of 16GB or 24GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 512GB to 1TB.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro is rumored to feature a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 32-megapixel third camera with 3X optical zoom. A 32-megapixel selfie shooter is also anticipated. The device is said to house a robust 5,500mAh battery.
