ASUS had teased the upcoming ROG Phone 6 gaming smartphone a few weeks earlier, the smartphone series will be the first gaming phone to debut the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. Today, the company has confirmed that the ROG Phone 6 Series will be launching globally in Taiwan in virtual mode on the 5th of July. The virtual launch event is scheduled to be live-streamed online and those interested can watch the event at 8 PM Taipei Time (UTC+8).

As per the latest announcement on Twitter, the ROG Global account had also mentioned that apart from launching the ROG Phone 6 Series, the brand will also be announcing multiple gaming accessories and a set of new gaming headphones on the 7th of June. This is a matter for ASUS fans to rejoice
The ROG Phone 6 Series will be the successor to the Phone 5 Series which had three phones in the lineup, the vanilla variant, the Rog Phone 5 Pro, and the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate. All three devices feature the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
ASUS is also expected to unveil the ROG Phone 6 Series in three different models which will be the vanilla ROG Phone 6, Phone 6 Pro, and Phone 6 Ultimate. All three phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC.
The newest chip is highly anticipated as in comparison to the regular 8 Gen1 chip, it performs much better and is more efficient in terms of battery life as well. Qualcomm has now turned to TSMC to manufacture its chip which has benefitted it as their chips perform 10% better in terms of CPU performance and GPU performance by 10% for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
Qualcomm has also managed to improve power efficiency by up to 30% for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chip which means your smartphone will last longer and will not heat as much.
