Asus ROG Flow X16: The 2-in-1 Gaming Beast launched with AMD & Intel processors

The ROG Flow X16 (GV601) by Asus has been enhanced with Intel Raptor Lake-H processors up to the Core i9-13900H as well as up to a 135 W Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. The ROG Flow X16 now has a better QHD+ mini-LED display option having a 240 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it includes a Gorilla Glass DXC coating for added toughness and fewer surface reflections for better visibility in harsh lighting.

Asus ROG Flow X16 (2023) – Everything You Need To Know

The Ryzen 9 6900HS chipset and a premium mini-LED panel made the 2022 Asus ROG Flow X16 look like a powerful convertible. With an even crisper screen, Nvidia RTX 40 series mobile GPUs and Intel Raptor Lake processors, the Flow X16 (GV601) has been redesigned by Asus and will be introduced at CES 2023.

The new Asus ROG Flow X16 resembles the initial model in terms of design. Similar to previous year, Asus offers 2 display options for the ROG Flow X16:

  • 16-inch ROG Nebula HDR QHD+ (2560 x 1600) 240 Hz mini-LED G-Sync panel
  • 16-inch ROG Nebula HDR QHD+ (2560 x 1600) 240 Hz IPS-level G-Sync panel

Asus claims that the mini-LED screen can touch a brightness of 1,100 nits, claims Asus. Both of the display options are PANTONE-validated, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut-covered, Dolby Vision HDR-capable, and offer speedy 3 ms response rates.

2 3 Asus ROG Flow X16: The 2-in-1 Gaming Beast launched with AMD & Intel processors

The 2023 ROG Flow X16 and Flow X13 use Gorilla Glass DXC covering for the first time. According to Asus, the Gorilla Glass DXC coating makes the screen 40% more durable and reduces reflections, which were a problem in the previous model.

3 2 Asus ROG Flow X16: The 2-in-1 Gaming Beast launched with AMD & Intel processors

This time, Asus decided to give the ROG Flow X13 an AMD Zen 4 processor and the Flow X16 an Intel Raptor Lake-H processor. For the Flow X16, the quickest CPU option is the Core i9-13900H, while the best graphics option is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with a 130 W TGP.

Customers can use an exclusive MUX Switch in contrast to the GPU that supports Advanced Optimus. Users may also connect eGPUs using the updated ROG XG Mobile interface, which supports Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs with 175 W TGP and above.

Currently, PCIe Gen 4 SSD options with capacities up to 2 TB and DDR5-4800 RAM up to 64 GB are offered. The single-zone RGB lighting of the 6-row chiclet keyboard is yet again the only configuration provided by Asus, and both the keyboard and trackpad are nearly identical.

Networking requirements are handled by a built-in Wi-Fi 6E WLAN card featuring Bluetooth 5.2. The ROG XG Mobile interface for eGPUs, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, a Thunderbolt 4 port, and HDMI 2.1-out are now present in addition to the two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A connectors and the Intel platform. Three 3D array microphones, a 4-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, and a 90 WHr battery round out the characteristics. Asus has not provided information regarding the cost or availability of the ROG Flow X16.
