ASUS launches new Zenbook S13, Zenbook 14 and StudioBook S at CES 2019

The Taiwan giant ASUS is breaking through the CES with a wide range of products including some of the best laptops. Not only they are powerful, the key feature is they are slimmer, premium and has flaunting looks.

ASUS has announced its 2019 lineup of thin and light ‘Ultrabooks’ at CES 2019 affordable ZenBook 14 and the ZenBook S13, that the company claims to sport the world’s thinnest bezels. These ZenBooks are equipped with the latest Intel Whiskey Lake processors.

They have also unveiled the new StudioBook S (W700) which claims to be a sleek and portable workstation-class laptop with Nvidia Quadro graphics

Finally, the Taiwan company have also refreshed its famous VivoBook line with thinner display bezels. So let’s dig into all of these laptops one by one:

ASUS ZenBook S13

The ASUS Zenbook S13 sports a 13.9-inch FULL-HD LED display with 2.5mm NanoEdge bezels. The display has a 97 per cent screen-to-body ratio which is truly impressive.

It just weighs 1.1kg and is 12.9mm thick. The ZenBook S13 will be available in plethora of colours including a new Utopia Blue and Rose Gold accents.

Coming to the power, you’ll get two options of processors with this laptop, one being the Intel Core i7-8565U and the other with Intel Core i5-8265U processor.

It will be paired with up to 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD. The ZenBook S13 will be equipped with discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU and packs in a 50Wh battery, which claims up to 15 hours of battery life.

The front camera of the laptop is housed within a ‘notch’ at the top of the screen. The price of the ZenBook S13 is not declared still but the laptop will go on sale in Q1 of 2019.

ASUS ZenBook 14

The ASUS ZenBook 14 is also a sleek and portable Ultrabook which just weighs 1.45kg. It features a 14-inch FULL-HD (1920×1080) IPS display.

The touchpad on this, similar the ZenBook Pro 15, literally doubles up as a number pad and allows users to easily perform calculations. Additionally, when the lid id opened, it lifts up the chassis to give you a more comfortable typing experience.

The ASUS Zenbook 14 is also powered by Intel’s Whiskey Lake processors ranging from i3, i5 to i7 chips, and will be paired with up to 16GB RAM. For the graphics, you’ll get both integrated graphics options and discrete
NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 GPU.

Both the ZenBook S13 and ZenBook 14 come with USB Type-C ports and a quad-speaker Harman Kardon certified audio system.

The ASUS ZenBook 14 is said to be available sometime in Q1 2019 starting at $749 (Rs.52,179 approximately).

ASUS StudioBook S W700G3P

As the name suggests this will be an ultra high-end laptop made for professionals and enthusiasts. The StudioBook S sports a 17-inch LED-backlit FULL-HD display with NanoEdge bezels with 16:10 aspect ratio.

This workstation-class laptop is powered by Intel Xeon E-2176M hexa-core processor with base clock frequency of 2.7GHz and with Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz. Also, there’s another version of 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H hexa-core processor with base clock frequency of 2.2GHz.

The ASUS StudioBook S W700 will be paired with up to 64GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM and up to 4TB PCIe NVMe Gen3 storage. The laptop also features an NVIDIA Quadro P3200 GPU with 6GB GDDR5 VRAM.

This one too has the same kind of touchpad seen in the new ZenBook 14. The laptop will be available in the coming months and also its pricing will be announced sometime later.

The refreshed ASUS VivoBook 2019 series

Not much exciting yet, ASUS has taken the responsibility to refresh the VivoBook series as well:

The three laptops of this series include

  • VivoBook 14 with a 14-inch IPS HD (1,280 x 720)/ full-HD display,
  • Vivobook 15 with a 15.6-inch HD/ full-HD display, and
  • VivoBook 17 with a 17.3-inch HD+/ full-HD display.

Also, they have launched few Chromebooks at the CES which we will discuss in our coming posts.
