Finally, the Astro Slide 5G has now gone official with a full physical QWERTY keypad. It is said to be the world’s first 5G handset to feature this kind of technology. This phone has a full-sized QWERTY keypad, which sits underneath the display and slides across the base.
Normally, you can’t locate the physical keyboard as it lies underneath the device. When you need it, you can slide it out and use the smartphone in landscape mode. Mainly, the screen will have an inclination upwards and will offer you a better viewing angle, thanks to its hinge mechanism. So, basically, it will work as a tiny laptop or a palmtop. Earlier days, when smartphones were peeping out in the market after the era of normal keypad phones, these types of phones made a big impact in the smartphone world. After that, touch-Android phones started coming into the business and these devices started to go extinct.

Regarding the display, this device features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. The SoC of this phone is paired with 8GB of RAM and 12GB of internal storage (expandable via an external microSD card). This phone supports a USB-C port for charging supported by Qi-standard wireless charging up to 10W. As per its pricing and availability, the Astro Slide 5G is expected to go on sale in June 2021 at a price tag of around 699 US Dollars.
