Roma are getting right down to business, with the transfer window in England open for business. The capital club are planning on recruiting two players from the Premier League to add to the squad.
The first is Granit Xhaka of Arsenal, who has long been linked with an exit from the Emirates. Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the player and sees him as a vital part of the project that he is trying to build at the Italian club.
The two parties are in advanced negotiations regarding a move to Rome, and there are positive feelings that a move will eventually be official. Xhaka is pushing to leave Arsenal, and the deal could be completed as soon as the next few days.
The Portuguese tactician is also in the market for a goalkeeper, and he has singled out Rui Patricio of Wolves as the top target. A fee worth around €10 million has been agreed for the Portugal number 1, and his move to Roma could be completed in the next few days as well. Currently, though, Patricio is involved with Portugal in the Euros and has the knockout stages to focus on.
Should Patricio leave the Molineux, Wolves are looking at Olympiacos goalkeeper Jose Sa as the replacement. The player is yet to announce his final decision, but personal terms have been agreed between Roma and Patricio as of the weekend.
