Earlier it was reported that EA Sports lost AS Roma’s license to use the club’s name and player likenesses in the upcoming FIFA 21. AS Roma became the latest Italian side after Juventus not to feature in EA Sports FIFA series. Juventus is known as ‘Piemonte Calcio’ since FIFA 20.
EA Sports made the official announcement that AS Roma will be known as ‘Roma FC‘ in FIFA 21.
Now, Roma and Konami have announced their exclusive partnership.

Roma said in the official statement: “The name, the emblem and the official kits of AS Roma will be an absolute exclusive of the eFootball PES series, making the eFootball PES 2021 SEASON UPDATE (PES 2021) – available from 15 September – the only football video game for consoles to include the Giallorossi club.”
“The Olympic Stadium, home of the Giallorossi club, will also be a novelty of PES 2021 , having been recreated with precision within the game by Konami’s talented designers.”.

PES 2021 will be the only console video game this year to offer an authentic reproduction of the club, but it is only the beginning of what will be a long and fruitful partnership ”.

We are already working hard with the new partner to define the activities for the coming months and to support the launch of PES 2021 with a series of initiatives. The Club is certain that Konami will be a perfect strategic partner for the development of the activities that will involve the AS Roma eSports team, which will increasingly aim to involve fans of football-themed video games.”.

After, AS Roma’s exclusive partnership with Konami’s PES, Roma won’t feature in FIFA 21. AS Roma will be known as Roma FC and will be playable with a custom badge and kit in all of the FIFA modes: kick-off, career mode, FIFA ultimate team and Volta football.
AS Roma’s home ground Stadio Olimpico has also been renamed as ‘Stadion Olympik’, where Roma FC will play in FIFA 21.
Nick Wlodyka, vice president and general manager of EA Sports told Goal: “You look at Serie A, and Milan and Inter obviously are two of the top three clubs in that particular league. We’re making sure that we’re able to represent them fully, authentically, and now exclusively.
“They’re very storied clubs, with all sorts of incredible history behind them and alternately, that’s a fantastic partnership for us.
“We look at all the pieces that are important. We make sure you have the right stadium, the kits, the crest, and we make sure that we capture the atmosphere in those stadiums appropriately.”
