Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo is attracting interest from Arsenal in the Premier League. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Arteta approves the Brazilian as a recruit in the January transfer window.
Moreover, the Gunners are also prepared to pay his salary if he is signed on a loan deal. However, Juventus have outlined one key condition under which they will let the player leave.
Arthur could join Arsenal under one condition
For Arthur to make the switch to England, Juventus will have to find a suitable replacement. The green light for the move hasn’t been given yet either, since Arsenal aren’t in concrete talks with the Serie A club for him.
The former Barcelona man is believed to be on his way out of Italy, as he has been in and out of the first team and has failed to cement his position as a starter. He arrived at Turin in the summer of 2020, as part of the exchange deal for Miralem Pjanic.
However, things have not gone well for him as part of the Bianconeri. He has only made twelve appearances under Max Allegri this season, and 8 of those have been from the bench.
There is a chance that he could become a regular under Arteta at the Emirates, but Juventus would have to find a quality replacement for him this month. This is the same strategy they followed with the Morata transfer rumours, and nothing advanced is in the works as of yet.
