Apple’s new 2021 iPad Pro will come powered with the M1 SoC, and we are going crazy over the new reveal by the Cupertino giant. The fact that the chip powers Apple’s some powerful devices like the 2020 MacBook Air laptop and 2020 Mac Mini desktop, is now powering an iPad gives a whole new definition to the meaning of tablets.

When Apple released its 2020 iPad Pro with its A12Z Bionic chip, it already crushed its competition with the chip offering a huge performance leap. However, with the power of M1, the device could offer “50% faster CPU performance” and “40% faster graphics”.

Hence, experts were quick enough to compare the potential benchmark performance scenarios of the 2021 iPad Pro against its possible competitors. Earlier, we heard that Samsun would be sporting its upcoming Tab S8 with the Snapdragon 888 chip. It was already assumed to become the most powerful tablet in the market.

However, Apple shocked everyone with the release of its 2021 M1 iPad Pro. The M1 iPad Pro was compared with the M1 MacBook, and the results are amazing; in the Geekbench 5 multi-core, the MacBook Air scored 7,508 points, and the iPad Pro’s is estimated to stand at 7,042 points, which is amazing.

When the tab was compared against the A12Z iPad Pro, it is estimated to score nearly 7,068 points, and the highest points recorded earlier was for a Snapdragon 888 is 3,810 points (Qualcomm SD888 test device), the results are nowhere closer.

Coming to the score of Geekbench Metal, the GPU scores were: MacBook Air 18,815 points, iPad Pro 16,855 points. When a GFXBench 1440p Aztec Ruins (offscreen) run test was conducted, the MacBook Air scored around 69.85 fps, and the M1 iPad Pro had an estimated result of 63.5 fps. However, the Snapdragon 888-powered Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra managed a measly 27 fps.
